      First things first. Instances are out of the game. Even pve instances are unlikely. PvP instances are even more unlikely from my understanding.

      That aside, unlimited is impossible for technical reasons (yeah, I know that you were kidding, but still, clarifying, just in case). As for their limit? That is unknown and they haven't made any announcements at a goal, as far as I know.

      Considering a number of things like; a) the top down perspective with no heavy graphics, b) Unity, c) SpatialOS, I'd say that they will manage 100-300 tops.

      But if they don't instance it, how do you prevent that the defending side pushes the number of ppl at the siege to +500 and crashes the server to prevent them loosing the siege? Or atleast make it so unplayable you just can't win?

    • Question about being a game tester

      I want to know if the devs have thought about character whipes during alpha/beta testing. Pretty much got a guaranteed spot in the pre-alpha and will buy my way into alpha testing in the kickstarter.

      I have lots of experience in testing alpha version of games, but haven't done it in a couple of years. In some games it drove me mad that they whiped my character after every new build. Those games had grind in them and I needed to grind again to be able to reach the previous bug location and check if they where gone/back. I'm a patient guy, but after +100 character whipes even I get frustrated. I know it is sometimes needed, but plz try to avoid doing it with every new build. Fractured doesn't have grind, but it has exploration in procedurely generated content. Don't want to run for hours after every build before I can contine testing. Well let's say 10x is okay during an alpha/beta, but not 100-200x 😝

      Can you plz take that into consideration?

      Edit: Just thought of something else that might be an issue. If the game has procedurely generated content, I might not find/unlock the same abilities and thus I might not be able to reproduce a bug under the same conditions after a new build. Is that correct?

      @gambles I'm sure there is a good middleground between most theme parks and EVE Online. But even EVE Online is very succesfull, so I hope the devs are a bit bold.

      WoW, gw2 and FF centered around PvP? c'mon, not realy. TESO maybe. An mmorpg centered around PvP are titles such as Dark Age of Camelot, Darkfall, Gloria Victis, Albion Online, Camelot Unchained, Crowfall etc

      Are you serious? Almost all big mmorpg titles in the last decade where full PvE or had seperate zones for PvP or only had arena pvp. Only a handfull mmorpg where centred around PvP.

One way is pvp off, another one is pvp off with flag system that allow to kill flagged. This hybrid way with restrinctions and safe zone could work or not.

      @gothix c'mon Gothix, let them have those few knowledge points on Arboreus we can't reach. We evil demons will just camp the most looked for knowledge points on Tartaros and see if the beastman can lvl more of those +400 skills to lvl 3 then us 😈😎😈

      I don't have an issue with ALL pve players. Just the ones who post stuff like that. To keep it short I refer to THOSE pve players as carebears 😜

      @finland that depends on the siege mechanics. If for example only the attacking and defending can stay in the area, and all others get ported away (as in Age of Conan or ArchAge), then it is a big difference ofc. And if you have infinite players in a guild, then nobody buys extra guildslot in the cashshop ofc 😂

      There are several ways how to interpretate that info. We'll see. Each planet can have their own endgame dungeons seeing the difficulty to move from one planet to another

      Funcom changes a some PvE servers to PvP servers and "carebears" that got ganked because of it drown Conan Exiles in bad reviews on Steam

      Carebears were playing on a PvE server that got turned to a PvP as far as I understand it. Carebears had all the reason to give a bad feedback. They joined there for PvE and they have been forced to play on a PvP server. That was not funny tho. it's better close a server and give the option to free move on another server. Swapping server rules it's a fail. I would have done the same. You can not sell me A and then transfrom it to B.

      Yeah they had reason to give bad feedback, absolutely, but they are a small part that gives nearly ALL the bad reviews, while they pleased the majority, the PvP players, with less queues, but you don't hear them. That is my whole point, and that is why I call this "carebears vs PKing" because I've seen this so many times over the years in mmo's 😈😎😜
