    • RE: The Potential City Problem.

When we played Life is Feudal resources were traded between settlements/groups to build certain things. There was no other way so it was forced. There wasn't a pvp option so you had to trade. How can you add a pvp option when one planet doesn't even have that option to use? It seems just as LIF did, Fractured is trying to reinforce the idea of player cooperation.

I'm more concerned that the resource upkeep will be so extreme that players will have to "work" just to keep a city going to escape decay. I hope the requirements are not extreme. On another note I'm really liking the feel of the graphics 🙂

    • RE: Basic mechanics. Campfire, fight, grind and camera.

I agree with you on these points. Also most isometric games give you the ability to pan the camera using E and Q. There should be alot of camera options for control.

I still feel fighting/hunting for ingredients only is going to become rather boring in the game. Any game where the monsters did not drop loot was always a fail for me.

    • RE: Aiming system and skills tree are bad , very bad .

I'm not a fan of manual targeting myself because I think it tends to become a key spam like an arcade game. I liked Diablo so I will give it a go and see how I like it when the game releases. I don't think any amount of debating on this topic is going to change anything so might as well accept it 🙂

    • RE: NO EU server? no thanks!

I haven;t seen very many games once launched after testing that didn't have multiple servers. Alpha is a little soon to be complaining about this subject.

    • RE: Just a FYI or all who may not know. You can place two houses on a plot!

I like the idea of being able to place a small settlement which isn't considered town sized but being able to be accessed by maybe up to 4-6 players. No town buildings just your own houses with maybe a small area in the middle for work stations.

Wow that's cool. Do all 3 have to be owned by the same person or can different people do this?

    • RE: Toxic behaviors ......

I have just noticed a difference in people in general. It seems over the years people just get meaner especially online where repercussions for their words are minimal. Then on the other side people have such thin skins they lash out over anything perceived as an insult. Why does this apply to discussing the game? Because people have trouble conducting a civil conversation even about something so trivial as the mechanics of a game that does nothing other than provide enjoyment.

    • RE: How to implement fast travelling?

@Xamedhi I like the idea of fast travel myself, but yes it has already been shot down. I consider it a quality of life mechanic. Once you have explored everything there comes a point you just want to get from point a to b without having to spend the time actually traversing the map. When we played UO and wanted to do dungeon crawls it was very nice to be able to gate the entire party to the dungeon. I remember doing treasure maps and having to walk several maps. We would ultimately lose several people in the party if the walking was even 15 minutes or more, either from boredom or from just getting lost.

    • RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?

If people are complaining about multiple accounts running on multiple computers from the same household, how is it going to be handled for multiple players playing at the same location? I was playing UO Outlands, a free server, and they blocked multiple accounts from the same household. The problem was my son and myself were both playing. What about LAN parties? These do still exist where several players are playing from the same location. I've seen where some games ban you if your account pops up at another location as well. It falls under account sharing. However, some people play at different locations. Some of my friends have popped over and logged on one of our other computers to play together.

    • RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?

In UO I ran two accounts on two computers. I had one crafting while I was playing another. I knew a guy that ran 9 accounts at once. 8 of them were running some kind of macro crafting or skill working while he played one. He had several monitors setup so he could watch them all in case he was asked if he was unattended macroing.

I can see players having several alts simply for having different builds for pvp or pve. I ran 16 characters in SWTOR just so I could do all the storylines lol.

    • RE: Death Penalty of losing all gear and inventory: WORST IDEA EVER!!!

I was a beta tester for Star Wars Galaxies. The idea they have here is similar to that game. It wasn't long after release the mechanic changed because of the outcry of the players tired of having to remake gear lol.

    • RE: Player towns should not be safe

Is this not a matter of the planet you are on? I'm assuming you are talking about the demon/human planets where pvp is allowed. I'm pretty sure on the human world it was discussed there are pvp zones and safe zones. I was also assuming pvp was allowed everywhere for demons on their world. Is this not the case?

    • RE: Tanning Tubs Are a Disaster

Stealing is not allowed on the Beast world. So in keeping with that ruleset other players should not be allowed to steal your hides that you spent TIME and EFFORT gathering only to take them from you while they were in a tanning tub. I don't care about realism, I don't care about some fake smell that doesn't even exist. What I care about is the game not allowing other players to steal from me when I can't do anything about it. In real life I could call a cop or just shoot their asses lol. That's not possible in the game so where is the realism there?

It's a situation that needs to be addressed and I'm sure an oversight by the devs. They have alot on their plate right now with all the bugs. I offered a solution with instant tanning tools. Another would be to instance the tanning tub itself to each player so that others can not access your hides. Maybe even have security levels put on the tub to allow all, guild, friend or own to access. I can live with timers as long as the hides do not disappear after a time length because real life happens and being in a game is not the priority of life. It's supposed to be enjoyable. If it becomes a point of frustration and work then what's the point of playing. These are my opinions but I'm sure some share them and some disagree. Hopefully a good common ground can be found.

Grow? Um that refers to guilds growing not crops. I can emphasize "jump right in" to apply to everything in the game if you like and that trumps anything else you can say about putting effort into it. I understand gathering resources need timers because otherwise someone could just sit at a spot and gather all they need on a macro. I'm talking about timers put on crafting tools. That is mobile game to the core. I fully agree that the game should have ""work" otherwise you don't feel accomplishment for completing a goal. I'm pretty sure this thread was about timers being put upon tools you used to process your raw ingredients for crating. I'm a firm no on having those. I feel tanning tubs should instantly process your hides.

    • RE: Tanning Tubs Are a Disaster

@Alexian This is roght off the website under About

      ABOUT FRACTURED
Fractured is the first open-world sandbox MMORPG mixing action combat with fully interactable environments, appealing equally to lovers of competitive and cooperative gameplay. Jump right into the fray from day one. Defeat your enemies through your own skill and cleverness, not equipment or level. Gather resources, craft, trade and venture into legendary travels as a solitary hero, or start a settlement with your guild and grow it into the next empire.

Where in there does it say playing Fractured is going to be tons of time waiting on timers, hardcore real work to play? In fact, the premise I would assert is it is a game where you jump right in having fun. Doesn't sound like they are implying you are going to be having huge time sinks for the things you do. What other players have talked about in the forums or in Discord that you may be inferring to is not what is listed here on the website description.

Life is Feudal had timers on all their crafting/growing. If you weren't there within the hour of it ending you lost everything. I don't want to see that in this game also.

I know people like the "realism" and having things take time, but I'd rather the tool immediately process your materials. If this is going to be a waiting game where I have to write down times for things to check I;m not going to be long for the game. I gave up facebook games where everything was set on timers for completion. Life is too short to be waiting on a game to have fun.

    • RE: New player concerns

Most of the updates arrive in emails directly or through the forums and Discord. So I'd say the devs are well on top of informing players what is going on. Along with that I have seen them answer questions in the forums personally and very timely.

As for what to do in the game to have fun, it's a mmo. The fun in the game is the interaction with other players. I'm sure content will be added as time allows. It's alpha right now. They need to work on making the game work properly first.
