    • RE: AMA with Developer 23/09 - Summary

@grofire Horizontal doesn't work for you.

A lot of others are specifically here because of the horizontal progression system.

Also, in a Beta-test, everything is usually not implemented, that is just part of the testing process. Tier 3 items will be added, and will cover more specialization over power-creep.

There are actually lots of us still having fun with the game and not suffering from boredom. I'm sorry you are.

    • RE: AMA with Developer 23/09 - Summary

@grofire They did say that there would also be Tier 3 gear added to the game, which won't be upgraded more powerful gear, but rather more specialized gear for certain kinds of mobs and builds.

The game is dedicated to a horizontal progression as much as possible, so they are trying to limit the overall power creep from too much equipment upgrading.

    • RE: Abilities with Changes; Crafting Quantity

@louwding said in Abilities with Changes; Crafting Quantity:

There's also an issue where you can't type in the quantity number box on the cracting screen. (not sure if this is a bug or a missing feature...)

it's a missing feature. You've never been able to type into that field.

The Devs are slowly adding this functionality to some screens.

    • RE: Dear Devs, can we get the map fixed please?

@Pedobear what I have found about your specific card:

"Unlike the fully unlocked GeForce GTX 680 Mac Edition, which uses the same GPU but has all 1536 shaders enabled, NVIDIA has disabled some shading units on the GeForce GTX 760 OEM to reach the product's target shader count. "

Which comes from nVidea's tech specs website. The disabled shader units it goes on to say makes it only technically compatible with DirectX 12, failing in newer 12 applications.

      @Veeshan

They have already stated that we're not getting more hotbar spots, and that choosing between consumables and skills is intended.

They have even previously stated that right clicking consumables from inventory in combat won't be a possible workaround.

    • RE: Dear Devs, can we get the map fixed please?

@Pedobear Mind you, there is no guarantee this will help, however:

Go into settings, under Video, and under Advanced settings, disable some or all of the optional settings there. Shadow Quality is probably the most important that has any effect on how the game interacts with the shader, so setting it to Low or None might help.

The main issue is probably that you have an integrated graphics card on your motherboard as opposed to a dedicated graphics card, which technically means your system doesn't really meet the system requirements of the game. Even though some integrated cards work, and benchmark similar to the requirements, in essence, they rarely do work for higher end graphic games, and although FO doesn't have a lot of really high end graphic requirements, the system does use some.

    • RE: PvE is Extremely Broken....

Unfortunately this is pretty standard in old school type games, which is the feel that FO is going for in a lot of ways.

In EQ, there were many mobs that were constantly camped by groups so nobody else on a server can get their rare drops. In this case, it is just camping them so nobody else can get the KP.

Anytime a mob can be attacked by multiple groups (not exclusive to the first group that scores a hit) you get this kind of thing. This is pretty much industry wide for these kinds of things, and not exactly something you can punish, as it isn't 'bad' behavior per se.

Grouping to attack spawns, and camping spawns has been around since MMOs have. Right now, in a group, as long as you get a hit in, you get %, but if your outside the group that mainly kills a mob, you get nothing. At least that's been my experience. Your options are go join their group, or wait until they 100% that mob and go elsewhere.

    • RE: Resource requirement for gear is too much

actually, there is an overabundance of resources out there. Right now there's a huge competition for it, but there really is more resources than most of us know what to do with once the game gets more stablized.

Remember, the game is designed to have certain time-gates to make the game last longer. Your not supposed to speed to t2 full armor in just a few days, although it is possible.

Once you start getting situated in the game, you should have excess ingots to make replacement armor as you go along. The original thought process I believe was a set of gear was supposed to last about 2 weeks, afterall.

    • RE: Dear Devs, can we get the map fixed please?

@Pedobear even if it is the Shader, that doesn't mean the Devs can definitely fix it. You can however diable some of your graphic settings to ease up on the shader.

    • RE: Dear Devs, can we get the map fixed please?

      it may not be fixable.

Before you get up in arms, let me explain:

In order to fix a bug, they need to be able to replicate said bug. If they can't replicate the bug, then they don't have the means to determine what's causing it in your system, and developers aren't able to test on every single computer configuration out there to ascertain what systems will produce certain bug such as this one.

Yes, this means a portion of the potential playerbase cannot play the game, however, it also means there is nothing they can reasonably do about it. I'm sure they are still looking into it, around other bugs they can fix, but this is quite probably a 'you' problem, not a 'they' problem, in that something about your system, or its settings is causing this, and insufficient information has gone to the devs to determine why.

Could be your graphics card, how you have the graphic settings selected, insufficient graphic memory, even another system on your computer trying to use the same resources in the background causing the error. It is unknown.

Fact is, they can put in system requirements, but you may not meet them, and there may be just certain cards that might technically meet the requirements, but lack something they haven't identified as a requirement to make their game work.

    • RE: Acacia tree logs fall through ground

often when the logs appear to fall through the ground, I've found now that it may be more visual than actual. If you zoom in and slowly run your cursor around the stump, you'll often find your cursor becomes the hand and you can pick up the logs.

The falling through the floor issue with logs has been a recurring bug since Alpha, and I think its really that the "grass" windowdressing graphics are merely overlapping the logs.

    • RE: Feedback after 50 hrs

The rough state of the game is partly because although Steam calls this an Early Access game, it is still Closed Beta.

Also, the game was plagued by a lot of major bugs in the opening weekend.

Finally, this is a niche game, and one of the niche elements people want is the less focus on progression over variety, and the enchanting system is probably my favorite part of the game, bar none.

No game is for everyone, however, and so if that's your spin on it, more power too you

On question might be, were there people utilizing the Developer's forums other than the Devs?

If there was an overall lack of participation and interest, it might have been scratched.

    • RE: We are a group of Chinese players. We need the Chinese version

not really into racism of any kind here. Please remember that.

The game has only 1 server right now, and expects possibly 2 at launch, neither of which is currently scheduled to be SEA. Initially its NA and EU, either of which should be equally as appealing to SEA players overall.

    • RE: No steam key??

Steam right now is early access to Closed Beta. A Steam Ky would be a Kickstarter perk, and those perks are not set to kick in until actual release. The only perks that people get before release are like Forum Titles, Credits in the Store (but what you buy isn't in game yet) and Alpha/Beta access through the Devs. If they make Steam keys available, they will probably not be until full release in Winter, so 4-6 months from now.

Also, no-where do I either remember or see anything about Steam Keys being offered. The most I remember hearing is that the game would be playable/purchasable via steam when it went live. It's not even live, and as Steam charges devs to give out Steam Keys, its understandable that they wouldn't want to take away from their development budget to provide keys they never promised.
