RE: NO tank mages
Can you give any particular reason why they shouldn't allow mages to be tanks?
If you ask me a wide variety of spells permitting one to customize their build how they please is good. Adds diversity, more options for roleplaying, easier to find a build to match your own tastes, etc.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't even think of a reason why mages shouldn't be tanks. What is to stop a caster of any variety from using their spells to defend themselves or others?

RE: A Point of Concern: "Horizontal Progression"
A lack of constant grinding for better stats doesn't preclude progression. An emphasis on horizontal progression typically involves hunting for rare or tough to find alternatives. Variants that while not better stat wise, unlock new ways of playing. Plus rare things in general can just be fun to aim for.
In games like GW2 you hit a stat well pretty quickly yet they've had a ton of people playing for years and years now. Have a look at how they approach expansions to get a feel for how one of those systems can work out. Of course that game does have vertical progression early game, more than Fractured will.. but you can still hit the cap very fast and those goal posts don't get moved. So it does act as a solid example regardless.

RE: Pets & Mounts
Wonder if pets will have special animations for whichever type they are. Like having birds land on your shoulder when idle for example. Could be a nice touch. Other games have done that to good effect.
Certainly helps with the immersion, it's those small touches if you ask me.

RE: I feel that we need an RP server, this game is perfect for that
I feel like this will be a niche game to some extent. Putting added barriers between a small community just isn't gonna be a good thing.

First Blood!
Double Kill
Triple Kill
Multi Kill
Mega Kill
Ultra Kill
M-M-M-Monster Kill!
Ludicrous Kill
Holy ****
^ Something like this please.
Stupid as it is.. yes. Yes I would very much like an over-the-top announcer in at least some capacity. Even if only for some slef-contained mode.

RE: Pre-alpha invites!
The joke conspiracy stuff in here is freaking great. Was expecting some kind of in-depth discussion on.. anything really, but this is better. xD

RE: Mail & COD
Letting things be sent without any risk to the buyer or seller isn't good if you ask me. Everything we know about the game so far is risk v reward. The singular element is the driving force behind ones actions. Taking that away from one aspect may make other choices not worth it. Why would anyone dare take a caravan of some sort to send items if there is no real reason to? It's a risk that has absolutely no benefit if C.O.D. is available. Then that's not even considering the potential for abuse as storage. Why leave an item somewhere where it can be stolen? Leave it in the mail instead and retrieve it later.
It's just too easily abused, and seems to go against the very core of the games design?

RE: System controlled caravans.
@mae said in System controlled caravans.:
This was already mentioned by devs somewhere, that caravans will starts from random points at random times.
I understand this may not align with the whole sandbox idea, but leaving everything in player hands is a bad idea too. I don't want total anarchy, monopoly or dictatorship. My point is, don't let people run wild cuz it will just break the game for others.
I absolutely love the idea of caravans as a MINIGAME. Not necessarily player resources, escort missions, even if no playerkillers attack, we can have disasters, monster attacks, etc. This a thousand times over. Definitely needs some way for the random player to engage in it. Not be locked down completely by X or Y zerg guild.
I'm all for NPC caravan type setups. Even if that means the loot would be significantly worse. It'd help the world feel more alive too. Having NPC's wander about doing tasks players could just helps feed into it being a living world where things are happening. As opposed to a bland map created for a specific purpose.

RE: curious on thoughts for game
The whole gear and ability system just sounds so much better then what other games have had. I know I've said that countless times already, but yeah. That's the main thing I'm looking forward to from this game. The rest is extra ontop of that fun sounding system.

RE: What will be you main intention in the game ?
PvP mixed in with a healthy dose of PvE. I'm a fan of both.
Speaking of.. which is why I hope there won't be stats that are exclusive to one. Always make it near impossible without making games overly tedious for me. WoW for example ruined the game with it's first expansion for people like me with their PvP stats. It forced me to carry two sets of gear as opposed to one. Then constantly switch them out. Noooot fun at all.

Unless its going terribly and everything is on fire I don't wana know about it.
Yes, that's my stance. Pre-alpha is not something that's pleasant to look at, or has much anything to look at.
Plus, I hold on to the belief that the more patched the game is, the better it is, so my patience is not being particularly tested. (And I don't have time to play at this time, too.)
Agreed. I don't have the time to devote to volunteer testing. Besides we're definitely better off just waiting until things are in a more stable state like you mentioned.
..then again if I ever got a chance I'd gladly jump into it despite what I said. Really miss doing QA work on games. Find it absurdly fun. xD

RE: Guild Attire Rewards
Would definitely need to be activity based or time gated. Perhaps with a low unique member threshold.
Basing it entirely off having X members would only encourage zerg guilds. That stuff kills games.

RE: Will zergs rule the open world?
@Crowdac That type of idea could function in specific situations maybe?
Betting there could be some reason for it to exist in certain guild vs guild encounters or something like that. If only to simply encourage fighting "fair". When one side becomes too badly outnumbered in games that have those kinda features it quickly shifts from fun to... awful. So a mean of mitigating that could be possibly good.
Anyway, the other ideas are definitely better. That one is certainly iffy, but I mean could be neat too? Dunno. Like the rest without a doubt.
Wonder what they've already got in store to address these types of situations?

RE: I suggest to continue the Foundation program
I'd like to see a new version of it down the line once they feel they've corrected any issues with it. Perhaps more limited in scope of course. As the current one is a tad too aggressive with things like daily posting limits and such.
Could also leave the old rewards as a perk for being a part of the early community. Then have new stuff for everyone in the new version of it. Plus it'd serve as an alternative means to eventually earn things otherwise reserved to solely recruiting players for example (of which in many systems only content creators end up getting the fancy part of, IE: Star Citizen).
