I feel like resetting attributes would be cheating. Create your PC carefully and thoughtfully then work with what you have. Just because we can learn all that is learnable in the game doesn't mean that it will be useful to us, just like IRL. Some of my most fun PCs have been characters that I made character creation mistakes with. Figuring out how to fix then without respecing makes for a fun challenge (to me any way).

@asspirin a shield wouldn't make it easier for you to be feinted. Generally shields are held in such a way so as to not limit the wielder's view. Or if for some reason it did, if you cant see a feint the feint cant work.

@asspirin hmmm would I rather hit something with a Poleaxe (heavy 2h weapon) or a Dagger (light1h weapon)? hmmmm...

@asspirin Also the question arises, viable for what? for PVE? for PVP? A lot would depend what you wanted to get out of the game. Is your goal to run around and murder everyone or survive a careful exploration of the game world (or both).

Personally I love dual wielding for flavor. I have a 5e character I play in a shared campaigned that is a dual wielding Fighter. She cant compete in terms a damage per round with barbarians or great weapon fighters but she is still alive and dishes out decent consistent damage and she is still alive. I guess that makes her viable (and fun to play).

So I guess the viability of builds will be all about what you want out of the game?
