    • RE: WASD or click to move only?

You underestimate the amount of people that play classic mmorpgs with WASD and are used to it.

There is so many people that aren't used to click to move, or simply don't like it, and honestly, regardless of what I think about click to move vs WASD, by not offering WASD option, Fractured will lose many potential players.

I don't see any reason why optional WASD that just moves the character towards sides of screen wouldn't be offered. But that's just me.

      The Voyage Beyond

For a long time stories about Elysium, and its demise, were told. Lives continued on Arboreus, Tartaros and Syndesia, generations changed, time passed, and inhabitants of those worlds, sometimes in war, sometimes in peaces, found their purpose, made peace with their new reality, believing what they were told was true.

Who could have known... that gods kept a secret from their people.

Up there, beyond the dark nebula, shrouded by stardust, another world was hidden. A sister world that emerged together with three known worlds, but remained hidden, unseen.

The recent astronomical phenomenon uncovered the hidden planet, and all eyes are turned towards it now.

Who are the people living there? Are they friendly? Or are they a threat, perhaps even a bigger threat than already familiar enemies from known planets.

Not blocked by nebula anymore, new energy started emanating through the space from that world, and people have already found the way to tune the portals to the new destination.

Will you defend your world from the new posing thread? Will you be an adventurer embarking on a dangerous voyage to discovered secrets hidden by long isolated world. Or will you be a member of mysterious race living on this new world, ready to embrace whatever the new reality may throw at you?

      In this expansion:

      New planet: insert name
      New race: insert name

PvP rules on this planet: strange astronomical shifts caused by recent nebula disturbances make a strange effect on both inhabitants of this world and incoming adventurers. As rays of nebula light shift conflict becomes almostz impossible at times due to heavy strain on players, anyone that initiates an attack in this period automatically gets debuffed for such action. But in other intervals of time, when shift occurs anyone initiating an attack gets a great boost in power.

At random intervals on this planet, PvP will be rare to to attackers being punished by debuff, but when shifts occur, all players will get their power boosted, and whoever strikes first gets an extra stat increase. No one knows when these shifts will occur. If you are not ready to fight, better run for safety of the settlement when the shift occurs and space around you is no longer safe. Or be ready to strike first to get the advantage.

TLDR: at some periods of time first initiator of PvP attack will be punished by debuiff, but at other intervals the first initiator of PvP attack will get extra boost. Shifts occur randomly, but once they occured they have minimum mantatory duration before next shift can happen.

Racials of the new race: characters of this new race are small creatures that move very quickly and adapt to their environment very well, using "cameleon like" feautures. They are able to mimic some nearby objects to temporarily hide from their enemies. During hiding they can not move, well.. they can, but a moving bush or a rock would hardly get by undetected. 😉 Players of this race also move a bit quicker while on their home planet, due to being used to their home environment for a long time.

New weapon types: there are some new unique resources that exist on this world, and will be used with new recipes to create a new weapon types for players to use. insert some new weapon types

      (discuss) 😉

      • Gear isn't all to important

I'd just write this a bit differently. Gear is important as in "you can't walk around naked and expect to do well", you DO need gear... however gear is very easy and quick to craft, so you don't have to worry about obtaining gear, even if it gets destroyed or stolen.

    • RE: Developer updates regarding game status?

NDA kinda prevents the flow of new information so, naturally, there is less things to discuss in open forums.
But very soon, when NDA is lifted, a bunch of new content information will come to light and there will be plethora of "stuff" to discuss, theorize and post about! 🙂

    • RE: In Game Memorial for Players that Die as a Suggestion

I wouldn't put up anything permanent and huge... there are all kind of (not normal) people, some might even commit suicide just to have huge permanent monument in game... or at least fake their deaths, to get a monument. And who could prove (or bother to check institutions around the world for all the players) if they really died or not?

Ability to do a ceremony, sure, that sounds reasonable. Perhaps name written in a book of dead in a church, when some players go to the archives and reads the book, he can see the list.

But nothing that permanently occupies a space in a game world.

    • RE: Friendly Fire

Yes the problem in Fractured is the possibility of good aligned players having huge advantage on battlefield, due to good alignment preventing them shooting each other. That would mean good alignment playing without FF while evil playing with FF, which would be completely game breaking, because a fair non 1 vs 1 combat would be impossible.

    • RE: Becoming a god?

Title sure, but title doesn't mean that you also get godlike abilities.

Take into consideration that this is open PvP - full loot - game. I doubt many people would like seeing someone with super abilities walking around. 🙂

    • RE: hint for logout

@benseine said in hint for logout:

@jetah if that is the case then pve beastman would probably go explore Tartarous to see if they would get knowledge. But instead of traveling back, they will just restart the game normally... and voila! They are back on Arboreus. This is the fifth reason I came up with why you need to keep game characters in the game for 15 minutes or more after logging off. If you log back in within the fifteen minutes, you are still at the same location. If it is longer and you are on a foreign planet, only then do you port back in my opinion.

I would add that if you do not reach port normally (by foot), your character should have some setback. So if you do not travel back manually, but because of time expiration or a log off (or disconnect, and choosing to not log back in) and you get ported automatically, you get some debuff, that lasts for 60 minutes, and does not expire while you are offline.

This is to incentivize people to travel back manually, and not exploit auto port back mechanics.

When you have traveled to another planet, and grinded some resources, why would you have a safer option to exploit auto port back, rather than having to travel to portal manually back through the dangerous foreign lands, risking getting killed on your travel? If auto port back has no setbacks people will just find some hidden spot on foreign planet, after the grind, and wait their to get ported back, rather than travelling with resources through open lands.

So besides 60 minute debuff (if you do not travel back to portal and use it manually) I would also add that you loose 50% of whatever resources you carry with you.

    • RE: Can you edit your hero profile after its creation?

Hero profile on web is not connected with the actual game in any way.

It's just so you give other players you communicate with in forums a general idea on what are you planning to play. If you are unsure you don't need to create it. And if you do you can change it afterwards, so no worries. 🙂

    • RE: Are you a PVP or PVE player?

      Both to the full extent.

PvP and PvE offer different challenges, and require different skills from player. I like to challenge myself, and progress in all aspects of the game.

Games that manage to fuse together PvP and PvE are especially fun for me. For example Archeage, trade routes, excorting goods that are made in PvE and needed for PvE, but you need to PvP to accomplish your goals and reach your destination. Or contested world boss fights, and other similar fusion of PvP and PvE.

PvE and PvP, when separated from each other (PvP battlegrounds, PvE raids) can also be engaging and fun, but it is (imho) much more fun when they are interconnected and fused together.

    • RE: About VIP in-game purchase

There is optional subscription, but developers already shared the details about it and promised it wouldn't be P2W.

VIP membership is a monthly subscription planned to be priced around $10/month. It provides the following perks:

      Discounts on Store items
Unique cosmetic rewards for accumulated VIP time
Other vanity rewards we might think of in the future
      Additional study slots
      Increased Knowledge Point gains

Basically the only non cosmetic component is a bit faster learning of in game skills (but eventually every player will learn everything anyway).

    • RE: What if you had to choose one announced feature to drop?

If I had to chose one thing to drop, I would drop toxic people from the community. 😉

I would not drop anything from the game, all just feels right the way it is. If something needs more time to be done, I'd rather chose to delay release for a bit and finish that up first, and then release it.

I'd be up for players being able to buy cosmetics with ingame means as long as all cosmetics are auto bound when bought and people can't use them to convert $$ to gold to easily get rich.

@Gothix Body enhancements? We're not talking like cyborg knights ganking us filthy demons are we?

      We actually are. 😉

Devs didn't provide many details on how those body enchantments will look like, but they did say that humans will have access to tech, and besides siege weapons and special city buildings, will also be able to build body enchantments (whatever those may be). 🙂

Extra attribute points and those body enchantments (and rest of the tech) offset for not having special racial buffs like other 2 races have.

    • RE: When will shop items become available ?

@Znirf said in When will shop items become available ?:

The bought items will become permanently bonded to your account, as you noticed all of them are pets or cosmetics things, so there is no need for a later refund. 🙂

You might wanna recheck that info 😉 because in all MMOs I've seen people test cash shop by buying lots of stuff they don't even need, just to see if it works. They are then later refunded on release (stuff taken away of course), so they can buy only what they actually need. 🙂

Every good MMO should combine "easier content" with "harder content" so every player can do what appeals to him the most at the moment.
