    • RE: Knowledge System Harvesting

If it is implemented and made by some logic... many attributes could be brought in connection with increased harvesting efficiency.

... strength and stamina... cus you can just do more...

...intellect... cus you are smarter about how you do things....

...luck... cus when you cut a tree down, if you are really lucky, a second tree may appear out of the thin air and fall down next to it.. XD

    • RE: how do you want your pet and npg?

I don't think pet can run / fly around and collect items on its own due to loot flagging system.

It's not only about looting players and getting flagged as thief like this. Remember, other player can loot a mob you killed, and get flagged as thief, and you can do the same if you loot the mob other player killed, or loot someone else's remains, while he is "corpse running".

So I'd rather pet doesn't collect anything. This mechanic just goes against open PvP full loot system, where you have to quickly decide what to loot and what not too, even in middle of combat where several players can compete for the same loot that's on the ground.

Pets that loot for you would just severely damage this system.

(auto loot mechanics helping bots is also an issue, but we don't even need to get into that because an above issue is enough to make auto loot mechanic a very bad thing to have in Fractured)

    • RE: Open Question to Developers.

This game will be full loot MMO, and 2 of 3 planets are free for PvP.

So basically even if many mechanics you can consider PvE (grinding materials, trading,...) there will be a lots of PvP around resources everywhere!

Also on Syndesia, guilds controlling zones will be able to mechanically impose rules that are in action in this zones, so territory control will have great effect on trading and exploration.

      There will be GvG, sieges,...

All in all, I wouldn't worry about PvP aspect here 😉 just take a note that much is still not implemented into alpha, so you can not experience it yet through testing.

Structured PvP is called... Syndesia 🙂

Tartaros is here for unorganized chaotic PvP. Whoever wants structure in his PvP has another planet to play on.

    • RE: [PvP Poll] If you had to chose, what type of PvP do like more?

@teknicterror said in [PvP Poll] If you had to chose, what type of PvP do like more?:

I'd actually prefer no PVP at all..

Sorry, this is (as stated in title) a PvP poll. PVE-ers can go create own polls. 😉

      For example:
If you had to chose, what you prefer to do?

      • Picking flowers
      • Fishing
      • Trying to kill bears
      • Getting killed by bears
      • Eating cookies while watching other PVE-er getting killed by bears (and laugh)
      • Running away when you realize those bears saw you
      • Trying to bribe bears with cookies
      • Getting killed by bears (oh wait, we have that one already)

    • RE: Concerns related to the attributes

Perhaps, cash shop can offer purchase of full attribute reset.

Meanwhile in the world, through exploration, challenges (or whatever) players would have a small chance to find "translocate 1 attribute point to another place" scrolls.

Those scrolls should be character bound in that case, and have a limit how much you can have at once (like 3 or something) so you can not hoard them, perhaps even an expiry timer in addition to that. And with a low enough chance of getting those, "purchase attribute reset from cash shop" would not lose purpose, while still offering players to transfer a point here and there for "free" through gameplay.

    • RE: Toon Colouring.

      @tulukaruk said in Toon Colouring.:

@gothix, @TheRippyOne cash shop dyes should be permanent and multiuse - ie if you buy gray fur and orange fur for Chadra you should be able to switch between them (maybe with a cooldown). Self made/dropped from mobs stuff - could be temporary.

Hmmm, actually in-game produced dyes don't need to be temporary, they can just be one-time use (but not expire) if the armors will decay over time, and need to be replaced after a while. When armor gets broken, it's gone, and since dye was one time use, it was used on that armor and it's gone too.

Meanwhile, CS dyes could be multi-use permanent option, and you can use it on as many armors you wish, repeatedly after your armors are stolen or broken.

Cool incentive to PvP: one way where you can get some components needed to produce own dyes is when you steal dyed armors from other players and break them down to get basic components afterward. You could get part of base crafting materials, and part of components needed to craft dyes (this would be one optional way where you can find these components, there could be other places to find those too).

    • RE: VIP - Details?

@Phial said in VIP - Details?:

Wouldn't "increased knowledge point gains" be considered a pay 2 win since you'll have an advantage on the points you can attribute faster than others?

It depends on how game is designed.

In a pure vertically progressed MMO, and especially one that is constantly adding new skills to the game with expansions, of course, that would be P2W.

However, in horizontal progression game, the power gap by learning new skills will be mild. And you can reach VIPs, with a little more play time.

So in this aspect this is just a convenience thing, that you can live without. Or optionally chose to take it. 🙂

    • RE: How is the Development Team going to solve...

@kralith said in How is the Development Team going to solve...:

I mean, if you are a developer, what you will do?

      1. Drink a lots of coffee (and water).
      2. use time machine 😉

Jokes aside, the only ones who have a chance of releasing games relatively up to date with current standards are super large studios with hundreds of people that chose to release medium sized game using their full resources.

In this way game (not being a huge project, but a medium one) could get released in relatively quick time frame. Other than this, as people have said, it takes time to release a game properly.

This is why, as a developer, I would focus on game play and not on graphics, and I would try to use graphics that use cartoon-ish art style, and would try to develop a game in such way so it leaves room for various improvements down the line (to be able to easily change textures and objects down the line so graphics can be somewhat updated without messing with other parts of game code).

    • RE: No grind for real?

Your new character will still lack learned skills for you to be able to counter many of the build types.

I would say that as an expert player on new alt, you will be able to counter some of the mains that are currently playing decks which your starting deck can counter.

You will still need to learn more skills to more efficiently counter more decks.

    • RE: Power gap between r1 and r3 spells is too big (POLL)

Reducing CD and scaling up damage is just inappropriate for horizontally marketed game (even if scaling would be low).

This would be horizontal "ranking up" (an example):

      Axii's Sun Strike:
(all ranks 120 mana cost, all ranks 15 sec CD, all ranks 520 damage)

      R1 ignores targets fire resistance
R2 adds a slow effect to targets
R3 never misses the targets - (hit chance based, not players aiming miss)

(Higher rank does not include benefits of previous ranks, each rank effect only works for that particular rank.)

And then player chooses which rank to slot on his skill bar depending on what he needs for particular situation.

Player could slot R1 of Sun Strike for fire resistant mobs, or R2 for melee mobs, or R3 for evasive ghostly mobs. Depending on what ranks are available in his spell book of course (what ranks he already learned).

    • RE: Other types of "consumables"?

Consumables are always nice, not only as help used in fights, but also as economy catalists as well. More consumable things out there, the more need for constant fluctuating economy.

It is only important that consumables do not become too powerful, to be considered as mandatory if you want to win the fights. As long as they stay a "mild help" they will work OK.

    • RE: More than 8 abilities if beastkin, still truth?

Problem is beastkin can fight while shapeshifted which, if speed increase is significant, would make it completely OP and game breaking.

This is why I am quite certain shapeshift speed increase will be minor, and not even remotely close to mount increase.

Someone mentioned ghostwolf from wow... ghostwolf was a travel form that couldnt fight.

    • RE: Weave Fracture cataclysm, Elysium lore into exploration

Yeah, it's not crucial to have a lot's of lore right at the start.

This might be even better. Lore collection can grow over time, and we as players, can actually have an affect on lore like that. Fractured being sand-boxy as it will be, players can drive the story, and affect on how it evolves.

Over time DS could gather some of the stories that happened, and place them in library books in game, and perhaps intertwine them with stories about Elysium gods, and grow lore over time bit by bit.

This doesn't sound bad to me.
