You rarely see p2w buy-to-play games
Not rarely at all. Just look at Asian MMOs.
Luckily DS stated they do not plan to make a P2W game, and we all very much hope that's true.

Yeah Q&A today. We will be able to ask about this.

Is your house (and garden) a safe spot or can someone kill you there?
Are houses built from some materials harder to destroy then houses built from some other materials?
Do houses built from some materials decay at slower rate then houses built from some other materials?
@jetah said in Strength of Player Factions?:
i've learned through Eve that people will join the bigger alliance instead of trying to fight them. They do what's easy and as closely guarentee's a win.
Then be it. They deserve what they get. Why would devs interfere?
@jianzen said in Strength of Player Factions?:
After the game has been going for a while, if and when clear, large factions emerge, perhaps from massive guilds, who control large portions of the three planets, what would be the response from the devs?
Hopefully no response. Because then this game wouldn't be a sandbox as devs promote it.
It is up to you, as a player, to work on opposing these factions, by helping an opposing groups. If you can't, well tough luck. The better will win.
I can only say that if I would see devs interfere in this, I would quit playing instantly. No doubt about that.
@Silver-Bones if you are active on forum and engage in meaningful and constructive discussions, you have a chance to win alpha 0 key. Alpha 0 is planned to start in October this year.
It shouldn't be much. If it was then carpenter through packages would be P2W.
@tulukaruk said in Elves?:
@gothix how would they fit? As a new kind of beastkin or demon?
Neither. It's universe, with planets.
So new expansion can mean new discovered planets inhabited by new races. Elves could be one of the new races on one of these new planets.
I guess FF could be activated for beast men on non home planets. That would make sense. Arboreus is considered a safe planet, but other planets are not. So there is no reason to keep FF deactivated for beast men on other planets.
Perhaps down the line in one of the future expansions. You never know.
I'm a shadow demon.
I tried owning a PC to get a twitter rollin' but each PC i purchased ended up melted very quickly. That lava hood is nasty on the tech bruh.
Don't worry we will have "PvE players" hunting quotas, and will let them repopulate every once in a while, so that we don't run out of them.
We may even end up forcing the crafting knowledge on some lazy ass demon so we don't have to worry about the swords either.
It just takes some activity from your account, and then they reset the rankings, your rank gets updated.
I just did the same thing recently, it doesn't take long.
Guys, devs don't care what type of players will support the game, as long as they support it. Cash is cash. And it's not like the players are dictating how the game will look like, so who cares what type of player someone is.
And it's not like lower income on KS will stop game from being developed, it may only delay it.
And the fact that they will continue selling packages on their own website after KS ends, may end up countering lower income that was gained on KS and boost things up again, and quicken the release date.
So really, the discussion about this topic is pointless. Just sit back, support the game as much as you can (I don't mean only by cash here, but just by being here, keeping community active, and spreading the word about the game) and enjoy the trip.
@jetah said in Bit worried where the Kickstarter is:
They can make the necessary changes when they want to run another campaign or bypass KS and just roll it from their store.
I do believe that running campaign on their own store can be more successful.
They will have more freedom (and room) as to how they wish to present everything (not constrained by KS format layout, or time constraint), they will be able to offer more package variations or custom purchases, and having PayPal as an option will be a big plus for the players that do not wish to share their credit cards with websites directly (or who do not use credit cards that Ks supports / use credit cards at all).
Based on my play style I believe I will be Demon.
However, I also like all the options that humans will have. Tech sounds very interesting, and fighting for control (that lets you influence the rules too) on the most traversed planet also has it's advantages. It is very likely that Syndesia will end up with more group oriented PvP then Tartaros will (since it will be the most traversed planet, with all 3 races visiting).
So I might end up playing as an evil Human instead of the Demon.
Time will tell, as we get more details about the game.
It's quite possible that certain amount of people is waiting for future packages that will be purchasable with PayPal directly from their website.
@kellewic said in New Character stat calculator?:
Other races can go all 10s, 1 attribute to 11, 1 attribute to 20 (affinity), and one to 19
We don't know the details yet, but due to that bonus activated when you reach 20 (and also considering "punishment" if you drop below 10), it might be more worthwhile to go all 10s, then get two most important attributes to 20, and drop one least important attribute to ~9 (below 10, how much is needed).
So instead 10,10,..11,19, 20
go like ~9, 10, 10,.. 20, 20.
Looking from min max perspective of course.
Perhaps during an invasion time period, FF is activated for beast men as well.
Explanation: due to panic caused by imminent danger (demon invasion) beast men loose part of focus, and now can hit non guildies / non party members with FF as well.
This could add balance so that during invasion time all factions can suffer from FF.
Guild settlements that can be built anywhere, and wars between guilds will be a significant part of game play.
Of course, you will not need to be in a guild to have housing. Solo players can also build houses.
It's just that when you are in a guild, and you all decide to build in a same place, you can be sure that you will have neighbors that will help you out in times of need.
