    • RE: Win a key based on your creative writing skills! (Done)

Woken up on the beach, waves splashing my face, warm summer wind and smell of the ocean...

What happened... where am I... who am I... in my mind a void.

I can't live live this... without knowledge, without purpose, empty...

I slash my wrists and return to login screen. This character was a fail, lets try a new one...

    • RE: Caster offhand

Magic daggers in combination with bare hand (your wrist) for blood magic.

      Wand and book (classic) stuff.

Voodoo doll (main hand) and pin (offhand) - there is no point combining voodoo doll with wand

      Book and bare hand.

      2 bare hands.

You know... stuff that makes sense.

I would set a predefined list of combinations that would "work"... and unless you use such combo you would be unable to cast.

    • RE: Info on Changes to Guild Cities

What Prometheus wrote, sounds very interesting.

And it's true, by using that particular type of government, you can de facto rule the city as you see fit, like guild leader would rule a guild city.

In general, light armor should mean less protection + more utility.
Heavy armor should mean more protection + less utility.

We shall see how will that get balanced here.

@Jetah said in How will you be making your $$?:

i wont play this game if it becomes a coop between planets. that isn't a game i backed.

The beauty of sandbox is that you are allowed, and able to break that "coop heaven" by froming your own alliance, and attacking the "coop alliance".

Sandbox = everything is up to players

Besides of course hacking and BOTing.

But organisation wise, yes, players should be allowed to play how they like, and other players are also free to interfere with that, by chosing their own playstyle.

    • RE: Bartle's Taxonomy and this game.

I was curious so here is my profile:

      Profile.jpg

They did calculate it preetty correctly.

I'm all about social aspects + mastering the gameplay. Social aspects are what drives me, and I don't care much about completitionism. I also like to become good in what I do, mastering the playing skills.

Detailed story is not that important for me, however, aesthetic game design is.

they can add it to the TOS that cross guilds are a hindrance to the game.

To add such thing to a TOS of a sandbox game would be... erm.. lets say a very poor choice. Especially reputation wise. MMO websites and communities would "burry" them for it.

    • RE: Question about enviromental damage/effects

@asspirin said in Question about enviromental damage/effects:

@Gothix Would be nice, but still you wouldnt be able to "summon" such environment, so if you arenΒ΄t lucky on place youre standing on, too bad for you πŸ˜•

Well it's same for "mages", they can't "summon" water to electrify you in it πŸ˜› so if you aren't standing in water at the moment, that skill interaction will be useless for them. πŸ™‚

And if mages will be able to "summon watter", maybe a druid spell can "grow grass". πŸ™‚

And since you don't actually have to be a certain role to use the spell, you would be able to grow grass as a warrior as well, just not be as efficient in it.

This is why teaming up (of different "classes") will be good idea, not only for number advantage, but but skill interactivity.
In this way it would be more usefull for different "classes" to group up, then for everyone and his mother playing same class and 5 mages or 5 warriors going around in a group.

Which would be a good thing, to encourage diversity.

    • RE: Skill Ideas

Some attributes will let you have more pets following you in the same time.

Perhaps if you minmax in that direction, you are able to use the skill that temporarily shapeshifts you into some animal (from pet collection).

Imagine seeing 3-4 wolves attack you and you can't say which one is player. πŸ™‚

Maybe you will be able to detect that, but only if you know a particular detect magic skill, have it in your deck at that moment and cast it.

Maybe if you are under effect of bleed, some environment will further reduce your movement speed (you are in pain, body cutted, cant move through high grass, or rocks easy).

      Stuff like that.

    • RE: Support/Healer type builds

It would be strange if healers wouldnt be needed.

I guess design will be that for solo content players will be able to create efficient builds so healing isn't mandatory, but for harder group content there is no doubt, you will need to be super skilled and organized as a team to maaybe pull something off without a healer.

    • RE: Recruiting error and other Foundation stuff

@GamerSeuss do you see your sisters account under the list of your recruits?

      The Foundation -> My Recruits
      https://fracturedmmo.com/the-foundation/my-recruits/

If you do not see her there, then it means she didn't follow your link correctly when creating an account, and it wasn't created as refferal. In this case, there is nothing to do about it.

If you do see her (and some others), check what level they are (those that you do see in that list), and check if in https://fracturedmmo.com/the-foundation/ those friends count for points. For example if you have 3 friends (from that list) over level 20, you should have 300 points there.

It is quite possible that you send your refferal link to your friends, but they didn't follow that link, but instead simply gone to Fractured main page and created their accounts in "plain way". If that's the case, there is nothing to be done about it.

So first thing, go check list of your recruits and see who you see there. πŸ™‚ Do you actually have friends who correctly made accounts using your link.

    • RE: Camping?

Devs said that they will implement short invulnerability window when you get back up.

This was said in context of being able to get away from monsters that surround your corpse, but I don't see why this wouldn't be the same in PvP.

If someone is camping you, get back up and use that short window to attack and gain advantage over him before it expires, then kill him.

Perhaps respawning in your home will get you a bit longer invulnerability window? Aka, if someone attempts to camp you in your own home, you can easily kill him.

    • RE: How do you think the Economy will actually function?

Items not requiring repair, doesn't necessarily mean items must have decay.

Perhaps there is no item decay, as well as no durability (so no repairs). And the way sink will work is by limited storage capacity players will have and will not be able to store millions of items.

Then players will need to dismantle items to percantage of base materials, because materials will stack and be usable to craft other things.

This percentage of returned base materials does not need to be high. It can be, for example, 20%. This will sink the materials.

Also perhaps re-enchanting an item will be so expensive that it will be more worth for a player to simply craft new, and enchant it from scratch.

Add loosing of gear, through PvP, people breaking stolen items, and you have efficient sink.

Item durability and decay arent the only ways to create that sink.
