      Attribute change being "possible" doesn't mean it has to be "free".

      It can be possible to change attributes, but it can be BOTH limited by long cool down, and super expensive, so it will also require considerable effort on your part to be able to do it.

      So group block can still play knowing that choice has tangible consequence, and group free can eventually change their attributes if they will not like their current ones, they will just need to place some effort in that, and not get it for free.

      I usually orefer alt tabbing to web. Its usually more simple then openning windows in game and you can have several windows open in same time.

      @Logain something like that yes.

      Because in many occasions system could have hard time to decide on its own, which stat to decrease for you, especially if you didnt "slack" in any area.

      But since there is only limited points you can allocate, if with carrying heavy load often, your strength increases... how would system determine which stat to decrease to compensate?

      What if player is hard core and works on everything?

      What about affiliated stats for certain sub races that rise in different quantity?

      Manual reallocation over time would be much simpler to implement, and would give players more choice. Certain tasks could still be required, alongside time constraint, in order for player to get eligible for reallocatiin.

      I hope changing weapons will have some decent cool down attached if they will end up being switchable in combat.
      For example, you can switch weapons in combat but cool down is 10 seconds, so you can't just spam switch weapons with macros and use alternating skills.

      I really dislike anything that is (ab)usable with macros... people stop playing the game and start "playing the macros".

      Tbh "role playing" doesn't mean playing from first person. 😛

      Playing a role means, playing someone else, who isn't you. Be it a warrior, doctor, fireman, shaman, or a mage, some other person.

      Do you have an isometric view, or view from first person, is something different. 🙂

      Changing your attributes slowly over time could work nicely.

      Lets say you get to reallocate 1 point per week, but not for free, but by doing some tasks.

      In this way people wouldn't just be able to switch around how they want, but would still be able, after a long time of playing to slowly change their character if they wished, and with an effort.

      Depending on which school of spells you want to focus on, you will need different attributes to pull out the most out of those spells.

      For example for what we could call a "classic mage" (or Invocation School in Fractured) bring up INT as much as possible. Then check out which secondary school you would like to mix in (check out that spotlight) and select that attribute to bring up next.

      For example if you want to mix in DIVINATION for utility (alongside your destructive INVOCATION spells), alongside INT, bring up PERCEPTION as well.

      Whatever is left over, it is smart to spend on some CONSTITUTION, since this is a full loot PvP MMO, and unless you will opt to play only on Arboreus, you will need some survvability as well.

      At least this is what I would do as "mage"... INVOCATION + DIVINATION schools, giving me destruction and utility.
      INT + PERCEPTION + some CONSTITUTION

      For this type of combat its just super important that game is lag free.

      Auto targeting compensated for lag issues partially. In manual targeting game, lag can make or break your gameplay.

      Im guessing weapons will generally be balanced between each other.

      Skills will be vastly different, and its not possible (or fun even) that every skill is exactly the same.
      But since everyone will have access to all skills and a free choice, that will provide the balance.

      Its just important that "schools" in general are somewhat balanced between each other. For example illusionism vs assassination.

      Total player DPS (or DPM if you like) will depend not only on weapon DPS but on his playing skills as well. How well can he design and perform various skill rotations, how well can he move and "shoot" at same time, and other factors.

      Things you can observe and compare separately are:

      • weapons DPS
      • particular abilitys DPS

      Players DPS is beyond discussion here because it depends on great many things.
