      It's too early to theory craft with any precision right now, without having some hard numbers and game info from an actual playing and testing.

      I'll just say that I hope that game keeps new players and veterans at competitive play field in PvP, without much power gap between them. It provides more challenge, more fun PvP engagement, and more fun overall.

      Veteran players will indeed have some advantage, some reward for their time investment, but this reward shouldn't come as an advantage in PvP. Advantage in PvE? Sure. And they will have that.

      Multiple gear sets and multiple skill decks to be able to engage in so many more PvE encounters a lot more easily than new players that still have to grind out all those options.

      But PvP should remain balanced. St least I hope that it will. 🙂

      Some players may insist on having only click to move, because they are used to it well, and they know if WASD isn't introduced they will have an advantage over all other people that aren't used to it.

      Lobbying for not introducing WASD option, lets them keep that advantage. This is the only reason for some players not wanting an optional WASD, nothing else (even though they will try to claim otherwise).

      You underestimate the amount of people that play classic mmorpgs with WASD and are used to it.

      There is so many people that aren't used to click to move, or simply don't like it, and honestly, regardless of what I think about click to move vs WASD, by not offering WASD option, Fractured will lose many potential players.

      I don't see any reason why optional WASD that just moves the character towards sides of screen wouldn't be offered. But that's just me.

      That's advantage in 1 vs 1 🙂 but not in mass fights really.

      If zerg of neutrals walk up to good and attack, once they attack, all is open, zerg of people all together, 1 zerg has friendly fire, other doesnt 😄 who will win ?

      @scotticus For now we only have click to move confirmed, without WASD.

      I would personally also prefer if WASD was given as an option to move the character (at least towards sides of your screen, simple left right up down), because options are always good.

      We will see if devs will decide if that is viable or no. But now it looks like a no.

      Considering the isometric point-of-view of the game, the WASD configuration may be tricky.

      It could work in a simple variation by moving you not based on your characters orientation, but simply towards sides of your screen.

      Neutral has friendly fire, good doesn't so in a mass fight, good has advantage over neutral as well.
      And as soon as neutral enters combat with good, good can attack them at will, without worrying about friendly fire.

      You can get:

      • knocked unconscious (you don't die, you keep all your loot)
      • finished off while unconscious (you die, you loose absolutely everything, you can run back to where you died and pick it up again IF no one stole it)

      Whoever kills you gets murdered flag. Whoever steals your stuff (even if its on the ground) gets thief flag. Those flags bring consequences, like everyone is able to attack those people without consequences of being flagged themselves. This may also bring some other consequences with interacting with NPCs, based on your karma.

      There is no gear that is "more powerful" then some other gear, there is only gear with different purpose (for example armor with different type of resistances that fits better to fight different mobs). All gear is easily replaceable, so loosing your gear is not the end of the world.

      You can create spare sets in advance and keep them in storage in your housing or in town banks.

      @Specter so basically that means that friendly fire between good aligned players is turned off on all 3 planets, and good aligned players have a massive advantage in mass fights against evil aligned players everywhere.

      I see this as a serious (even game breaking) issue.

      I understand why Arboreus can't have friendly fire, but I hope that the lack of friendly gets limited solely to Arboreus, regardless of characters alignment.

      So for example friendly fire is activated for everyone on Syndesia and Tartaros, even between good aligned characters.

      This is how good aligned characters still get to play in safety on Arboreus should they chose to, but there is no advantage for good aligned players over evil aligned players in mass fights on Syndesia and Tartaros.

      This is the only way I see this working without too many balance issues.


      (Good aligned players still keep the advantage on Arboreus, but I guess that's just life. It's hard to perfectly balance everything.)

      (Or perhaps Arboreus could turn off friendly fire for everyone.)

      @Target you can switch your alignment near a campfire. So in essence, if you are "positive karma character", you are not prevented from attacking other positive karma characters. It's just the matter of using a camp fire to make a switch and you can attack at will. That's what I meant.

      You can have positive karma, and still PvP whoever you want without a limit, on Syndesia and Tartaros, even other positive karma characters.

      So far we know only Arboreus will not allow good vs good attacks.

      Other 2 planets will, with appropriate flagging and karma consequences. As simple as that. 🙂

      I would personally prefer guild to be unlocked so people can chose to play with their friends regardless of the race, alignment or the place of settlement.

      I'm either going with archer type or a mage type focus. A ranged DPS as my main character.

      @Tsoo cross world mail, and cross town mail will surely not exist. Fractured is all about travelling with your goods and risking the travel dangers for better profits.

      Cross town mail system would just be going around that, and I can tell you with pretty high certainty that we will not see that.


      Intra- city mail with COD, like a local cargo bay, where you could leave your item with COD, for buyer to come pick up on the spot where you left it and then pay for it could be interesting.

      Something like this we already will have (market stands to sell your goods). Just the reservation system wasn't mentioned (unless I'm mistaken), but it would likely be easy enough to implement.


      So reservation system tied to market stands, I can see that.

      Normal market stand with all the items you placed on it, but as an extra option you reserve item X, for person Y, with price tag Z, for time duration T, and if this person fails to come pick it up in designated time frame, then this item just transfers to your general item assortment on market stand and becomes available for anyone to buy at designated price tag. 🙂
