A good aligned lich sounds a bit weird but not impossible. Liches are often described having glowing eyes so it would be fun to have different colours for different alignments: blue for good, red for evil, yellow for neutral for example 😄

@Jetah look this player is suggesting an eye color details.

      Quick, get him! 🤣

I guess an early notice would help a part of people try to get some time off work (free days) etc. 😉

This is not at all important. Just a little pet peeve of mine. There is a way to come onto the forums from the foundation page...but is there a way to do it the other way? (forum page to foundation page) without use of saved linked whatsoever

    • RE: do you want a translator in game and in the forum?

@Jetah just to find the line that I want to say (scrolling through 3000 lines) would be annoying and slow as hell xD and I doubt many would be patient enough to bother with that. Specially if you need to connect a conversation and then you need to scroll through 3000 lines multiple times. 😛

Yeah I didn't look at the list. I believe you that the list has insane number of options, but my concern is the feasibility in practice for having a quick and smooth conversation flows, which I doubt is possible with manually searching for things to say each time. It would be stressful and uneasy at best.

Most people will do stuff with own guilds anyway, and will use discord voice, specially for sieges and organized stuff where textual chat just isn't enough even if everyone speaks your language. Chat is slow, you NEED the voice, so speaking the same language is a must.

Now imagine a siege, with people on text chat, and scrolling through 3000 lines to pass information to one another. 😛

      RIP xD

    • RE: Why Magic users will be OP compared to physical users

My mind immediately travels back to Runes of Magic, and an immortal mage-healers who could solo dungeons, super DPS and amazing self heal + kite.

I hope it will not end up like that here, and make other specs pretty useless in comparison.

    • RE: do you want a translator in game and in the forum?

@Jetah so someone selects phrase "Looking for dungeon as DPS" (in his own language), and I see this in English.

Then I reply to him, "Hey did you do this dungeon before? Can you spare the time to go for 2 consecutive runs with the same group?"

And he says "Ke?" And just spams me the "Looking for dungeon as DPS" again.

-- Pre-written phrases can help for some simple situations, but for very little of situations. If you don't know english, you will never really morph in to a international group and start playing with this group.

The most you can do with pre-written phrases is to do a simple trade on market, or stuff like that. You can not "bridge the language barrier to really start playing with someone else".

    • RE: Fishing in Fractured

The only thing I would say about fishing would be that it should follow common Fractured resource principles. Each planet should have different fish.

Otherwise good aligned fishermen would have huge advantage simply fishing safe on Arboreus.

Syndesia and Tartaros should have own types of fish, not available on Arboreus.

    • RE: do you want a translator in game and in the forum?

@Jetah few pre-written phrases to chose in "menu" will not help bridge the langue barrier and connect people together 😉 it's simply not nearly enough.

And full chat AI translator would majorly suck, and would make most of player base turn off chat completely.

There is only one way to be able to communicate with international community, and that is to learn English, regardless of how much someone would wish that there was an easier way.

      @Gothix
What exactly do you mean by "skill"? The definition can range from twitchy mouse moves to chess-like deep thinking.

In context of this thread, skill as spell / ability. Healing grace, arrow volley, throw shield, vanish,...

@target said in Why Magic users will be OP compared to physical users:

Look at the skill spotlight and observe how many schools scale with int vs str. An int user can be a powerful healer, buffer, CCer, damage dealer, summoner, and tank just from one stat. And from what we know so far, skills either cost mana or health, there's no alternative skill resource.

      Exactly.

I really love archers, and I planned to play an archer from the start, but after I've seen how many schools are based on INT, and INT being a stat used for learning as well, I kinda decided to play a mage.

I can have both mage, CC and healer skills in skill bar on full effectiveness, and this sounds a lot more OP than being just an archer.

And if things remain as they are now, I promise you 80% of player base will be INT based characters. And then you will have 15% STR based characters for those who always play "warriors", and just 5% of everything else. Mark my words.

Yeah I was annoyed by the same thing, tab moving away to whole another section, instead of to next field (password).
Then I realized I can use enter key to go to password after I typed in my user name. 😉

Yeah, tab would have been more convenient.

    • RE: Lich Transformation

      @jenaut said in Lich Transformation:

wait so a Lich as in a class or what? Sorry what exactly you mean. I am just trying to realize how the game is even MORE awesome! lol

It's like angel compared to demon, or abomination compared to beastkin. It's counted as a different race, so you basically change a race, you get a different character looks, and a different racial bonuses.

Your skills/knowledge remain the same as you had before transformation, and eventually you can learn all skills in game regardless of what race you play.

      So you have:

      • your skills (everyone can learn everything, given enough time and effort)
      • character attributes (you set them at character creation and possibly can't change them anymore / or if devs will allow change then it will be very costly and likely have very long cool down)
      • race effect (you have the racial bonuses of race you are playing with)
      • your gear (anyone can equip any gear, and different gear will make you more effective in different situations)

Why if Pre Alpha isnt Pledge exclusive but random lottery?

      It's not only random lottery.

It's a specific number of most active community members (leader board) + random lottery for whoever won at least one drawing.

why do people hate the AH from anywhere but are happy for 3rd party websites.

You can't really compare those 2.

      • "AH from anywhere" completely eliminates traveling risk from you as you don't need to travel anywhere anymore to get stuff.
      • 3rd party site would just give you info (that might even be flawed / not updated), but even with info you still have to travel and risk your goods

One extra advantage of website is that you are able to check it from other places outside of your home, on your mobile. On work (khm) etc.

So websites are nice for game-related info, price checking, and that sort of stuff. Whatever is legit.

    • RE: Pledge Packages

      @zenopo said in Pledge Packages:

Oh whaaaat, so pledging now doesn't get you extra goodies? That sucks =/

Yeah, I have always seen this as a discrimination of players that do not use credit cards, and can't use KS.

The only fair thing would be to have crowdfunding up at the same time on KS and on own website to allow for extra payment options and then give rewards to everyone that participated. But I didn't see any MMO that did that yet. Every MMO I've seen so far first does KS, rewards everyone who pledged at KS with extra rewards, and they after when own store is made on own website they say to other players, sure give us your money we still want it, but no extra rewards for you.

And then companies are surprised why "own website" store sales are so low. Many people don't pledge because they see this as very unfair policy. A form of discrimination against people that don't use credit card.

I mean the main fault lies on KS that doesn't allow for additional payment methods, but companies could certainly work around that if they wished so, saying that they will extend crowdfunding for a while on own website with the same rewards as on KS.

Sadly I didn't see any company do that yet.
