I agree. Regardless of what it is, some piece of unique cosmetic reward for being in pre-alpha would be pretty cool.
(Could be some skin, a cosmetic pet or even a special player portrait border with bugs decoration around it (buggy pre-alpha).)

Getting an undead Chinese version of a Dragon, that would be an awesome mount. That could have a almost hypnotic movement style. I would love to have an undead sled team with undead reindeer for a special holiday. Lots of good undead opportunities!
Mazikar, I hope not something like this as well..
@jetah said in About the VIP membership:
P2W will happen via 3rd party sites. there's nothing around that.
Sure, but I will at least get to laugh at many people afterwards for getting banned, getting screwed for their cash (not getting what they wanted to buy) and possibly getting infected by malware and getting all their cash stolen.
@jetah said in About the VIP membership:
VIP doesn't give advantages, so far, so allowing people to play the game to get it isn't P2W.
VIP doesn't give (significant) advantages, but gold (gotten out of RL money) does. How hard is this to understand? You pay lots of RL cash, you convert it to huge amount of gold and you are king in game. You pay for mercenaries, you equip your whole army with gear, you can buy materials and consumables for sieges,... if you claim that this is OK to have, I was right, no point to discuss this with you any further.
(now I'm really out) Have fun!
PS: If players could buy the sub for gold, but directly from DS (so other players can't get access to this gold via selling sub items), that would be OK.
So if you want VIP, be ready to cash out for it.
(Also as you said, VIP doesn't give significant advantages, so you don't really need it to play. So there is no problem if part of players can't afford it, they can still play the game normally. It's luxury and they don't really need it in the first place.)
I'm here 6 months now. I was super active every single day and I have won multiple drawings, and I'm only level 166 still.
I'd say 200 is more then enough to have. The only way to go more is to recruit hundreds of people (people even created multiple fake accounts for this reason).
Without huge amount of recruits, even by being super active every day and win drawings it will be practically impossible to reach 300, even 200 is not easy.
I guess it's not possible to convince someone who wants to P2W, he will look for anything to say, just to try to get it.
I'll be done with this thread then.

meanwhile demons will not be able to even get into safe zone to get knowledge there, unless they go angel first, then play as good, then they go bad again, but this would take ages and not many will bother with this)
It was said in a Q&A that transformations and the alignment shifts that go with them are permanent. So no angels doing evil things to transform back.
Sooo... I could go to Angel... then go to Syndesia, flag for PvP and attack people without punishment? I will always stay good, and when my aggressive flag expires, I can repeatedly go grind to Arboreus safe zone, then attack people again, then go to safe zone to grind... ?
That sounds like a not bad option.
(Unless, an evil aligned angel will be a thing, but that would be even better... An evil Angel, worshiping Bablis... not bad as well. I need more details on this.)

Of course they do. They just like to torture us by not telling.

@gothix The hazards of having to make decisions.
It's easy.
Flip a coin, ask for a sign of god, shuffle the cards, spin the bottle, ask your wife to decide for you,...
Plenty of ways to decide.

btw. is it confirmed that there is exclusive knowledge to be had in arboreus and tartaros safe zones? cus I would believe it is more likely that knowledge will be accesible for everyone .
It is confirmed.
It is still accessible to you if you play demon but it's A LOT more work, since you need to grind your way to an angel first, then grind the knowledge (there is a lot of knowledge so you would have to play as a good guy for a decent period of time), and then you would need to grind your way to an evil player again, to get in the good grace with an evil god again.
Grinding from demon to angel alone will be a long undertaking (and the way back as well), not to even mention the grinding of knowledge too takes a huge amount of time. So if you want to be be a demon with full knowledge set, arm yourself with a lot of patience and will (you will also have to give up on attacking people for a decent period of time while you will play as an angel and grind knowledge on Arboreus).
(btw. the entirety of Tartaros is reachable for any player of any alignment at any time. It's just that after a while, as visitor, you will get marked on map for all demons to see. But you do not need to go evil to grind knowledge on Tartaros, you just need to deal with a lots of attack that will happen there.)

@gothix, @TheRippyOne cash shop dyes should be permanent and multiuse - ie if you buy gray fur and orange fur for Chadra you should be able to switch between them (maybe with a cooldown). Self made/dropped from mobs stuff - could be temporary.
Hmmm, actually in-game produced dyes don't need to be temporary, they can just be one-time use (but not expire) if the armors will decay over time, and need to be replaced after a while. When armor gets broken, it's gone, and since dye was one time use, it was used on that armor and it's gone too.
Meanwhile, CS dyes could be multi-use permanent option, and you can use it on as many armors you wish, repeatedly after your armors are stolen or broken.
Cool incentive to PvP: one way where you can get some components needed to produce own dyes is when you steal dyed armors from other players and break them down to get basic components afterward. You could get part of base crafting materials, and part of components needed to craft dyes (this would be one optional way where you can find these components, there could be other places to find those too).

Now if only I could decide wether to go for Blood Demon, Human Lich or Abomination Deerkin ...
I'm kinda deciding between demon and evil human.
Key points:
I prefer demon due to my play style, but evil humans could be cool too due to tech, and ability to influence rules in zones their guilds control. Also Syndesia will be an area with the most player traffic, so Likely more opportunity to PvP than on Tartaros.
Game is not only PvP. PvP is only part of it. And even for those things that are less noticeable, it is still nice to have them. They give players a sense of uniqueness about their characters. At least during PvE and RP, but in PvP too.
Games are about feeling. People play them because they enjoy them.
@jetah said in Character Customization?:
Watch the game play video again and tell me what you can notice about the character(s) being played. I'll link the video so you don't have to search for it.
On this zoom level I would definitely notice character body build, hair style and color (if helms were hidden), skin color and texture (when wearing armors that leave part of the body uncovered by design), custom tails (with beast kin), large body tattoo (covering larger part of body, with armors that by design leave part of body uncovered). custom ears (with beast kin, if ears are of solid size, like custom cat ears for example).
I would notice this even in PvP, without zoom. In PvE or RP (and with zoom in) I would notice a lot more.
@00 ingame gold is power. It doesn't buy only gear (as much as you want, every time you lose it so you have no downtime on playing) it also buys consumables, materials, and player services mercenary protection, mercenary force for sieges, and so on.
Ingame gold IS P2W, if you can convert real money into it. And you can if you are able to sell sub items (or any cash shop items) in exchange for in game gold.
May I suggest Rift, Allods Online, Wildstar or other similar games for those of you who like such a thing.
(Whoever wants to play Fractured, please grow some skills and then play, rather then relying on P2W. Thank you.)
@Prometheus @Specter there is no suggestion section of the forums so I will leave this here, under questions.
Occasionally I see some of my posts "go away" (bad Specter, bad) but I only notice this by seeing my number of total posts drop in my profile, and I have no idea which of my posts were removed or why.
Now this is not any criticism for moderation, quite the contrary, I find moderation here excellent. However I would love to know which of my post gets removed at least when it does, so I don't think it's still out there and I tell people "oh I posted X somewhere" and it doesn't exist anymore without even me knowing. Ofc. one would also be curious about the reason why was something removed to be able to avoid doing the same thing in the future.
Now the question: is it possible to add some extension to this forum, so that when something gets removed, author gets automatic notification about what was removed at least (and optionally, a short comment why).
Thanks for hearing me out!
@fajovzla said in For play, i need pay?:
I understain... any explain me if i want play, i need pay?
Game will release in approximately 2 years and it will be "buy to play". You pay one time and then can play forever for free. Optionally you will be able to buy VIP membership that will give you some small perks and cosmetic goodies, but that will not be mandatory.
In the meantime, until the game is released, you can (if you want to play in alpha or beta) pay for a crowdfunding package that gives you access, and some other rewards, and you can try the game early.
Basic game does not cost a lot, and it will be one time payment. You can check the store section of website for more details:
https://fracturedmmo.com/store/basic-pledge-packs/
I also prefer the permanent cosmetic stuff, and will not waste my money on something temporary.
But to each his own I guess. As long as cash shop stuff is cosmetic only, I am happy.
First.
(It's actually bannable in Blizzards forums to write "first" if you read their ToS, so it's good that this isn't Blizzard. I also like Specter, he is a great guy!)
Welcome unknown traveler!
Rest assured, there will be plenty of skins available in Fractured, obtainable both through cosmetic cash shop and through game play. Hopefully, something like you suggested as well. I also quite like the undead hordish and savage styles.
Have fun in your adventures, and watch your back. Not everyone is looking to make a new friend.
@jetah said in About the VIP membership:
the resources spent to find that out is much more than just allowing the VIP to be traded for gold via a UI. I'm sorry but others will see the P2W regardless because anyone can sell everything via 3rd parties.
it will be possible to buy a whole town if you want to, via 3rd party. as long as trading exist there will be P2W! I'm sorry that you're too blinded by what the Dev's said to realize that. Of course DS won't sell items directly but anyone can farm to craft a weapon or armor then sell it on ebay or other sites.
Who ever is willing to risk getting banned, or to risk his cash going to waste while not getting what he payed for (due to seller screwing him up), or in worst cases getting his CC info stolen by malware-ous 3rd party sites, can be my guest and go try to "buy the whole town".
Even if some "crimes" (regardless of their magnitude, both in RL or online) are too hard to detect, that is not a reason to say "ok then, since we can't find many offenders.. lets go ahead and allow those crimes...", that's just crazy. I can't even understand that sort of thinking...
I guess not all of us think the same.
For me, even if people that will attempt "various stuff against the TOS" exist (and they do in all MMOs), it's enough that I know that they risk both their account banned and their cash too (and more, depending on who they deal with). I will play the game and occasionally read in updates how many players got banned due to this and ended up losing everything. I will feel good each time I read about a new batch of such people, and will smile when I see them cry in forums.
Have a nice day.

when you play Path of Exile, Diablo 2/3, or any other isometric game you can notice eye color? You can recognize a nose ring in an enemy? You can recognize which eyebrows the player selected?
Do you even read what other people write or you just like writing nonsense responses?
Did I mention eye color, eyebrows or nose ring in my list? Nope, I did not. I mentioned various other cosmetic options you can actually notice.
