@muker everything can be done with controller.
This is just one example.
Of course, some control options will be more fitting (and quicker/easier to use) than others, but you can not claim that controllers can't be use to play.

@muker said in Controller Support?:
- we will move only using the keyboard (if I'm not mistaken)
- will AoE skills for targeted areas, and this controller is not very suitable (in terms of run and to purposefully cast)
- in the game will be 8 hotkeys skills, map, inventory, crafting, settings, Guild, etc. (in fact, part can be moved to a special interface, but still)
It might be that it will be more comfortable to play with keyboard and mouse (of course), but if someone really wants to play with controller he could. It would be incorrect to say that he could not play. He might be at disadvantage if he only uses controlled and nothing else, but he could still play.
@ti said in Who wants be a hero?:
I want.
I bought a cape.
It's not so comfy to sit in your PC chair with a cape on.
@muker said in Controller Support?:
@skywingz Since the game is only for PC and it will interact a lot of buttons, it is unlikely to support the controller
PCs also support controllers. There exists a lots of controllers for PC, and you can bind keys to them however you want.
So even if controllers wouldn't be officially supported, players could just bind their skills to keys on keyboard, and then set up controller so he thinks his buttons are those keyboard keys.
Example:
bind Fractured skill 1 to keyboard Q
bind Fractured skill 2 to keyboard E
bind Fractured skill 3 to keyboard R
set controller button 1 to think it's keyboard Q key
set controller button 2 to think it's keyboard E key
set controller button 3 to think it's keyboard R key
And so on. This is how I set up my multi button mouse, and I have all skills on mouse buttons. Controllers can be set up in same way.
Yes. and you are not limited in what you can learn. Same like you can learn all skills in game (no classes) and use whatever you want in whatever combination, you can also learn all professions and use them, which will be great for solo players in particular, not having to depend on anyone else if they do not want to, for crafting.
Game is open PvP, full loot MMO (except planet Arboreus where you are safe from PvP), so it makes sense that people have conflict about resources in the world. That is why harvested materials will not just regenerate quickly like in classic MMOs, so "grind bots" can just run around the same spots and harvest everything. Players harvesting an area will have a more lasting effect to it, and if someone has harvested materials before you, you are out of luck, and you can go search a new spot, or track him down and try to PvP for those resources. Materials will respawn of course, but not as quick as in classic MMOs, and perhaps (not sure about this) even have a dynamic spawn locations. Fractured is procedural, so I'm guessing this is quite likely.
@jetah you might need a pair of glasses mate if you have trouble noticing all that.
@Jetah Devs will not allow $$ to gold transfer, and people that go around that (by using 3rd party websites or whatever else) for this purpose will get banned. As simple as that. Yes you can try it, same like you can commit crime IRL, but GL if you get caught. Devs can not prevent people sending each other cash over paypal, and trading gold, but they can certainly ban them when they catch them.
Not to mention that if you go and do that you not only risk your account getting banned, but you also risk getting screwed for your cash by other player, so GL with that.
Generating in game gold from RL cash is P2W, because, as @Target explained to you you can (besides gear, consumables, materials,...) also buy player services with ingame gold (mercenary services etc.).
Now you might be lazy or have no time to actually play to get gold, but that's (guess what) your own problem. If you want P2W game where you can convert money for ingame gold then you will need to go and play something else.
I'd also advice Prometheus to keep an eye on you (when game releases) since obviously you have such intents.
@jetah said in About the VIP membership:
there's always 3rd party sales when it comes to games like this. either DS offers VIP directly for in game gold or those people seek it elsewhere. There was a person that spent 70k in Eve Online that was going to lose a war.
I'd prefer DS offer VIP for gold (via the cash shop UI where the buyer and seller doesn't know each other) than it be an item that's traded directly.
If VIP is available only as purchase through your account then you need RL cash to buy it, and no amount of ingame gold can help you, even through 3rd party sales.
Gear will be easily craftable (due to nature of full loot MMO), and thus will not be worth loads of ingame gold, so selling gear over 3rd party websites to get $$ will not get you a long way + you risk getting banned.
I'm curious, why are you lobbying for $$ to gold transfers (pay to win). Devs said there will be no P2W, and if it happens GL with server pop, because many people are here because this is one of very rare MMOs that's coming out without P2W. Introduce that and many (including me) are out of here, and you can enjoy playing on empty server.
Overal body build (tiny, muscly, overweight, high, short,...), horn style, tail style, ear style (beast kin), skin texture (i reckon armor will be designed to leave some parts uncovered), claws/paws style, hair/fur style (MMOs usually come with an option to hide helm), big tattoos that cover an area that's not covered by armor, skins for cloaks, skins for armors, skins for weapons, perhaps even a voice type.
There could be more.

I played all all Warcraft games, when they was actual.
In this reason i started WoW and established playing on a Roleplay Realm. I was there for a looooong time. Also i played Diablo and Diablo 2, a bit Starcraft.
Tried Diablo3, but droped it very fast, because it was not the Diablo i knew.
I bet that all took a lots of coffee.
@warpuppy said in [Poll] PvP or PvE, now with more precise scale!:
@gothix I'm just saying, if things are tied to MANDATORY amounts of PvP, looks like I'm not gonna be getting whatever it is.
That's cool.
Demons have it even worse. They are unable to get it all from Arboreus (safe zone) regardless if they are willing to PvE or not. They just can't get knowledge from safe zone no matter what they do.
@lohen said in Humble Bundle/ Free Game:
Can you get all 3. Games for free?
Yes you can. It's called piracy.
But legit, from this website, nope. Just one.
@ladyrowan said in Fractured Gamepedia: Let's Populate It!:
@benseine I'm sure eventually there will be information on the skills. Maybe not a full guide to the skills since I think you can learn them in different ways. That information probably won't come until much later.
Do not underestimate people that rush through things because they want to be "the first".
If a way exists for a player to convert RL money into game gold, that's P2W, plain an simple. There is no argument to counter that.
VIP by itself doesn't have to be P2W. It depends on what you get with VIP. Some games have VIP subscription as a form of P2W, yeah. Let's hope Fractured will have non P2W VIP (devs claimed it will be like that).
Divine quests will likely be handed out in temples. Temples will already exist around the lands, even isolated, and there could be some monk NPCs living there.
If players could trade ingame currency for subs (bought by other players), the game would become pay 2 win.
$$ -> sub item -> ingame gold = P2W
@jetah said in Fractured Gamepedia: Let's Populate It!:
that's the problem though. Wiki's should be started and maintained by the community and not rely on the developers.
Developers are part of the community too.
Well, at least the good ones are. The bad ones usually separate themselves from the community and just "sit on their high horse". It's why I prefer developers that engage themselves in various "stuff".
It's kinda broad question.
TLDR:
I think this is more or less the most condensed information you can get inside one post. For more go read spotlight articles in news section of website.
Wikis are nice as an extra. Even if I never read them, I know many people do.
I usually only :
Wikis are kinda too broad and too "flat" for me. It's like reading a book and searching stuff inside, instead of reading a specialized dynamic guide about something you want to learn about (which I prefer, learning about one specific issue that interests me at a time).
But to each his own. I know there are lots of people that like to read "book type material" with broad information and suck all in at once.
In the end options are always good, the more, the better.
(that goes for wasd movement too, khm, khm)
