      0_1530061078347_Capture.PNG

First, if you haven't shared the kickstarter with your friends then you need to. Share it to friends, family, fellow gamers! If you have any reason to think you may find someone who is interested in the game and willing, get them excited about it now! Tell them what you love about it, tell them why they have to get on board with you, and then make SURE they sign up on the forum with your referral link. Keep talking about it, get them excited too, if THEY start referring people, THEY get points and level up, and you get points for them leveling up too! (plus, more gamers here is good for all of us)

      0_1530061169495_Capture.PNG

Beat the snot out of those friends who sign up but forget to use your link. (@Madboots I'm talking about you here) Make them feel really terrible every time you see them. Follow them on the forum so that you can see their level and be certain to let them know just exactly what reward tier you're going to miss out on because they signed up without using your ref code. You don't need to be nice to them anymore because of the BETRAYAL they committed. Smite them, but make sure they know you want to take your revenge in game.

      0_1530061347675_Capture.PNG

So, for those who did use your code, be sure to harass them regularly. Send them a link to the news every time a new one is shared. Check their levels on your recruit page and make sure they are climbing! If they aren't, let them know where to find the quests, and how to do them. Make sure they know HOW to find page two of the foundation quests, some of them may take a good 9 months to find it on their own. (@Aburrobb I'm sorry that I didn't know you were struggling so hard with this, I would have helped you if I had only known!) Try not to sound too condescending with the ones that need a little hand holding, just remember some people are special.

      0_1530061026733_Capture.PNG

I have been known, to link my recruits who need the most help, (@Wombat) every single thing they need to do step by step, tell them to join a guild if they haven't yet and link them to mine, tell them to create a hero, and make sure they check their emails AND click on them to their overview page so that they can get you your points!

You'll have to keep going back to the ones who you KNOW are going to love the game, and show them why the Foundation Points matter. It may take months of harassment and sharing with them till they finally catch on to how cool this game is going to be, and finally, join the Foundation and start trying to gain some points (and therefore prizes) For the most reluctant, or those who have let you ramble on but haven't clicked any links, or listened to you, THESE are the people who most need to see the Kickstarter right now. THESE are the people you need to let know, what package you bought, what package their other friends have bought, how you don't want them to be left behind. You know they're going to get there eventually, but why should they start missing out on points now when they're only going to kick themselves in the future? (also ones to start linking what to do for fast points now, do ALL the quests and they'll be over lvl 30 fast, then can start collecting a small amount of daily points, and do more quests as they come along)

      0_1530061424594_Capture.PNG

You can get a max of 500 points for the first 10 recruits, then 450 max for any after that. Expect to get some people to join just to be nice to you, who may not actually do any of the foundation quests, and ignore all of the mail, they're just there to make you feel good. It's the ones who are willing to go the extra mile to give you more points, that you need to focus on here! These people might actually PLAY THE GAME WITH YOU TOO!

I find that it's really great to have recruits who know each other, and you can point out the ones who haven't leveled up as fast as those who have, and spur them to compete against each other for higher points. All the while you're not only gaining points from them, you're gathering together friends who will become hyped about the game and want to play with you once it opens!

And if you have a loved one, who you are forcing to play with you anyway, (@Viketap ) feel free to walk them through everything they need to do to make you happy. Believe me when I tell you it sucks to have more stuff than someone else just cause you did the work and they didn't, when they were right there beside you all along. Just nudge them regularly and remind them, so they can get a lot of the same stuff.

Every person has a different thing that excites them. Some just like the style of the game, some love the story. Some just want to play whatever their friends are playing. I have one friend who died over the skeleton dragon pet on the kickstarter page and committed simply for that. I have another freaking out that the game WILL be on Linux. (they'll wait but I'm still working on them to join the Foundation now, to start collecting those points!)

      0_1530060921012_Capture.PNG

Oh, and if you're in the top 100 on the Leaderboard already? Feel absolutely free to make certain to your friends that you do need every single point to keep the rank you have. It's what I'm doing!

And if all else fails, beat them into submission.

    • RE: Kickstarter Is Over! What's Next?

It's still plenty early, no reason not to still have some early bird specials on the website. No need to kick people in the teeth who couldn't pledge on the kickstarter, when those pledges didn't sell out on it. Had they sold out then yeah, there shouldn't be more made, but certainly to continue some of them here, even a more limited number or even just until they announce alpha start date, or till they run pre alpha, I want as many people as possible to be able to take advantage of some of the pledges that didn't sell out yet.

I mean, they had every intention of selling those limited packages, right? So consider that they still exist, and are still going to be valuable for getting the game made in a more timely manner. I know a lot of people who didn't want to pledge on kickstarter, who want to wait till closer to alpha, or even once it's announced, if the early bird packages stick around a little while longer, some of those people might change their mind and pledge now instead of waiting.

Anyone want to share their decorations, props, costumes etc? I have a few plans I'd like to work on and would love to see anyone else share too. I made this on the weekend:0_1537829949510_42425562_10155510648027117_3623703142161448960_o.jpg

    • RE: Two Words On Reporting, Leaderboards & Pre-Alpha. I'm tired.

Pre alpha is unlikely to find anything exploitable, though yes, if I get a key I intend to use it to make sure the game is ready for alpha. Will I try to crash the servers? Yeah, so that we can make sure they don't crash in Alpha. Will I try to find things that are broken? Yep, because you want an alpha to be successful, and Pre alpha is there so that you can get people to make sure the alpha is ready to open.

Don't want to open up an alpha with a lot of bugs and glitches, that's a waste of time, at that point anyone who would be looking for exploits won't bother if they can't sort out basics before then.

So what you've been discussing may be true for alpha, but not likely at all for Pre alpha, that would be like shooting yourself in the foot.

    • Fun with housing

As you can see from Maze's bug report, here we've been doing some testing of city plots in town, making for some really interesting visuals.

      Capture.PNG

Here we built a house that overlapped our bank.

      wet.png

Here I am drowning because the water texture persists inside the house after I built it. You can actually build quite a bit out in the water.

      can't reach.PNG

Here's about the limit, I couldn't place the stone into those 2 furthest pilasters.

So I replaced it just slightly more inside, this is the limit of where you can build to in the water though.

      Capture.PNG

I also took some video, to show how the water texture works in the house, I'd really like to be able to build out into the water, but the homes should be raised on piers or something so as not to flood.
      video

You may want to consider upping the spawn timers, during test phases. I have already built several buildings and houses, but could have done a lot more building and testing if I didn't have to walk so much for resources. I think during a test phase, we should have everything sped up quite a bit from actual gameplay, and also slow down the timer on decay for things. Not everyone is going to build a house, or several, and destroy them to build another to test out the city plots and issues with them if it takes as long as it does currently.

    • RE: Non Game Breaking Ideas For the Competitive Amongst Us

I love the idea of a guild store! I'd even go so far as to suggest that player taxes include the accumulation of non in game currency to add to it!

Take for example, that if you collect from enough players in your town, guided or not, for a long enough time, you also collect some currency to improve the town! You could impose such a tax on players who choose your town for trade, or those who want to settle in it, or those in your guild, for guild towns.... and add in donations for those who want to see a certain town/guild survive....

Definitely non monetary or at least not combat advantageous... Just one more reason for people to come to such and such a town, or such and such a guild, because they have the coolest... whatever you spend it on."

If it's between town/guild A and town/guild B which one I'm going to, the one I like best is where I want to go, and if town/guild A offers me unicorns and art and fashion and cool looking gear, but town/guild B only offers the bare minimum, I really want town/guild A

    • RE: Tanning Tubs – Solutions, an Idea or Two

I'm sure stealing, of any item, leather or not, will be something that will create negative karma. So on the beast world, there will be a lot less of it. The human world will have tech in the city guards that will keep out negative karma (if the governors so set it) on the demon world, I think it's expected that you can either hope to collect your own, or kill someone for theirs and either is acceptable in that ruleset.

But you're a little stuck on the stealing of one item, there's likely to be a lot of other items in game to come, that people will also steal, either by attacking you and stealing it from you, or breaking into your home and picking the locks on your chests. Trust that the karma system knows this, and the devs will be including the stealing of leather as such an action.

I don't want them to make it unstealable though, in any way shape or form, I mean, some players really do like to play as thieves... let them. But also let the consequences happen for that. (in otherwords, be patient, I'm sure there will be some evil actions that will create consequences karmically for people who play this way, it's just not in the test phase yet.)

    • RE: Tanning Tubs Are a Disaster

Or, settle in a city that will create leather constantly for whoever wants it, whenever they want it. I just filled several tubs with dire wolf skins to make leather for anyone in my town who needs it. Once it's done, it'll just fill the chests beside. At some point, we'll craft and enchant gear to have on hand when people need it.
I have been adding enchantment stuff to a chest near the magic shop for people to use too, and there's a gem I put in there beside my gold. If someone in my town needs it more than I do, they're welcome to it. I will eventually build my own house (and not destroy it) and then put a chest in there to store some of my harder to get stuff.... but until then, if someone I'm playing with has a want to it, they can have it, I can always go get more.

    • RE: Creepspawns close to houses

I think if you're going to choose to build in the wild rather than in a town, you'll have to decide where you want to build, based on not only what nearby creature spawns are, but travel to and from where you want to go, and what materials are nearby.

In short, I don't consider this one a bug, but a potential feature if you use it correctly. I don't think spawns should happen within a building site as has been mentioned here, but close? Yes, that could well be a feature.

    • RE: Lore is IMPORTANT

Lore sold me on watching for this game, but lore can't make up for gameplay issues, so seeing that they're already putting this much thought into the storyline, gives me high hopes that they're doing the same everywhere else.

    • [FRAC-1903] Rotation of items only offers 3 instead of 4 choices

When you choose a blueprint, you cannot rotate it to place it in every direction you choose. As you can see from the video, were I to try to place the alchemist's table with the post along the side of the house, I cannot. I can put it to the left, to the right, or against the fenceline, but not facing towards the house. Other items are simlar, I showed the crafting table as well.
