RE: Death Penalty of losing all gear and inventory: WORST IDEA EVER!!!
@Xzait I think you tagged the wrong person xD Hathos was saying that it's pretty much impossible to die in PVE at this point.

RE: Death Penalty of losing all gear and inventory: WORST IDEA EVER!!!
The amount of time it takes to get your gear in Fractured is minimal, especially since you can get the mats and craft it all yourself. It isn't like a game where you need to win RNG in PvE content (ex. World of Warcraft) and where it can take months or possibly even a year or two if you're unlucky.
Having the penalty of losing your gear and inventory on death is a GOOD feature of this game, not a bad thing.
I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea, some people like to always have everything and never lose anything, but there are precautions you can take to not lose your stuff. Play carefully, remember to watch your endurance and HP bars, carry mats for campfires so that you can heal up. Pay attention to what you're fighting. Don't mindlessly try to fight 10 mobs at once, this isn't a hack and slash game. If all else fails, group with a buddy. There is an option to let your party/guild members loot your corpse in case of your death. Then your stuff is safe with them if you die, unless they die too, which if you are being careful death in the first place is actually hard to achieve.
Do you have a personal plot claimed? If you do, craft extra sets of gear and store it at your house. This way if you do happen to die, just respawn at home and equip yourself up again. Then the gear/inventory that you dropped on death becomes trivial, and instead of running back naked to try to get your body you at least have your weapon/armor if you do choose to run back to get your other stuff.
Fractured is not the type of game to mindlessly play while watching Netflix, nor should it be. It's an immersive game with difficulty(hopefully more difficulty coming in the future) where you should be paying attention.

RE: Patch Log - v.a.2.3.0d
Thank you for the patch! Really appreciate all the hard work Dynamight has been putting in. THREE patches within the first week of the alpha test session!

RE: So when will this game release
Projected release is sometime 2021-2022.
Hah... there are MMOs that have been around being "developed" since 2015 and still aren't released. I'd say Fractured is doing very well in their development time.

RE: Looking for Wiki feedback
Thank you and the rest of the wiki editors for working on this!
I think that so far, the project is coming along nicely and I look forward to seeing the updates.
As far as feedback, would it be possible to add Tabs on the left side for Town/House and Crafting/Equipment related information? I suggest this, because on the main page we do have this section here, https://i.imgur.com/4mg447J.png
But there doesn't seem to be a section for it here: https://i.imgur.com/mY7UtAC.png
Currently if I click another section, then the only way to get back to a link for the Town/House/Crafting/Equipment sections would be to go back to the Main Page, which is not as intuitive if someone is just looking down the left list of topics on the wiki.
[Edit]- Changed the actual screenshots into just the imgur links because it took up way too much space
sorry!

RE: Sudden drop in stamina
Hello, did those of you noticing this bug end up noticing whether or not it was fixed with today's patch?
In the patch notes , Prometheus said "Fixed a bug that made bonuses given by talents drop and get re-applied when moving around the world. This also caused characters close to weight limit to become overweight for no reason."
I was wondering whether this bug was being caused by the same problem or whether it was caused by something different. I'm sure it would be helpful to Prometheus if we could pinpoint whether it is fixed now or not.

RE: PvP Flagging Requirement
@Zori said in PvP Flagging Requirement:
As for human vs human in Syndesia, we don't know much yet but it's quite apparent that huge changes will be done cause the militia just doesnt make sense right now, i mean any individual can join a militia, but what if they're part of a guild that is predominantly from a different militia?
Just to clarify for those who don't know, currently if a guild is in a militia (picked by guild leader), then they can invite people who are not in a militia, but they cannot invite players who are in a different militia. It pops up an error that "You cannot invite players of a different militia to join your guild." In turn, if a guild member decides to leave the militia, they first have to drop and leave the guild. So @Ostaff is correct in saying that the guild is part of whatever militia that the Guild Leader is in, and guildies can only change that by dropping the guild.

PSA- Trading Leather for Hides at The Oran'Thul City!
For the purposes of helping the community and also to promote testing and theorycrafting, The OranThul is currently trading leather in exchange for hides to players who have been unable to obtain leather! Get your leather without having to wait for the cooldown while supplies last!
Limit to 12 per person at the moment, enough for a full armor set and a shield, but subject to change depending on demand/supply
[Edit] - Will craft the leather armor/shield for you using our city crafting station!
We are located East of Heartwood on the map!

RE: Minimap freezing and not updating character location
Update: It seems to be caused by too many personal plots in The Oran'Thul city
The bug doesn't seem to be happening in other locations.

RE: Solo playing became extremely difficult.
@catraccoon You have a point there. Then it is up to the preference of the player to choose, giving something up in one area but gaining in another.
One advantage of a solo plot right now is that you cannot build the largest house in a city plot. The largest city personal plot is only 4x4, while there are housing models much larger.

RE: Solo playing became extremely difficult.
Solo players can have the option of going solo, that is their right as a player. But if you go solo you should not expect to have all the privileges that a citizen would enjoy as part of a city. There is a reason why eventually taxes WILL be implemented in the game, it's because the city/governor are supposed to have a continuous relationship of working together to build towards the good of the group.
The current setup with the crafting stations being centered around cities works for both solo and group players. Group players did the work together and built the city, so they should enjoy the privileges of citizenship. Solo players can TRADE with city players for those mats/items that they need, leading to economy and interaction.
Again, if you are expecting to be able to do everything in your house by yourself, then we'd just be playing Minecraft instead of a dynamic player-driven MMO.

RE: What is the point of having your own plot of land?
@GamerSeuss said in What is the point of having your own plot of land?:
Actually, Solo play has been a major aspect of MMOs since their inception with Ultima: Online. The point of MMO is to have a massive shared world where what you do has an affect, and what others do has an affect as well. There is competition, not just for scores on a leaderboard, there is the chance to group up to overcome very big challenges, like Mega-bosses, but a player can also stay solo, and spend their time in game maybe practicing skills, only to sell their wares to other players instead of just to NPCs.
Guild/Large group players just have to realize that Solo players have their place to, and every right to expect the game to also make the game fully playable by them.
A shared world is my point. Some solo players only want to be able to do everything on their own, without needing to interact with others at all. Solo players do have their place, but one person being able to achieve exactly the same thing as a team of 20 people is ridiculous. If a player doesn't want to become a citizen, that's fine, but then they should not be able to enjoy the privileges of citizenship. If it's about available crafting/being locked out of crafting, then they should either join a city, or trade with other players who are citizens.
-
RE: Solo playing became extremely difficult.
@Zori First of all SHE not HE.
And second of all if you read my points at all, I actually answered #4 of YOUR response, which was your suggestion being that a player should be able to become a citizen and yet have a plot elsewhere, I was telling you that it is already possible.
Accusing others of not reading when you yourself is the one who didn't read, well. That's not how you expand or contribute to a discussion on the forums.
@grofire At this point of the implementation, there is no tax yet, and there are groups that are planning to be a bunch of friends playing together and not players who want to "exploit" you.
If you don't want to join a city, you can always trade with players who did join a city. Trade hides in exchange for leather, or something to that degree. This whole system is to support group and player interaction. Fractured is supposed to have dynamic economy based on players, it would be worthless if everyone could do everything solo. We would all be playing Minecraft then.

RE: What is the point of having your own plot of land?
@Zori In my opinion, that just means they are in a guild/group that is not doing much group activity in the first place.
My guild uses our city as a central location, meeting up and hanging out then running to other points of interest together, returning together, and working on crafting all while communicating on discord or listening to music together. It is a central hub for groups actually doing group activities. We even have an underwater tavern to hang out in!

RE: Solo playing became extremely difficult.
You can be a citizen of a city but have a housing plot in the wilderness. You just won't be able to be a citizen of another city at the same time. So you can be a citizen of one city to use the crafting tables but have your own private house in the woods. @grofire @catraccoon
