RE: Spread The Word & Win A Key!
@GioGimic said in Spread The Word & Win An Alpha Key!:
@Prometheus so its okay for me as a smaller creator to mislead my small following of fans by hyping a game and having the same experience mentioned above. None of my friends trust my opinons on games now after many disappointments so. Giveaways for access shouldn't be setup to make 100 people hype a game they know nothing about to what up your google presence? Rather not sit here and compete with small creators to see who can hype up a game we never played best.
An angle maybe you can use: to present the game openly to your followers and simply ask them what they think of it, if they've heard, any opinion, etc. And if they ask you why you're mentionning it, just be honest... Maybe you're intrigued, but the developer isn't offering media keys for now, etc. so you wanted to ask them what they thought so you might win one.
That's "positive" attention, I believe, in the sense @Prometheus meant it in the OP, i.e. something that might get the discussion going about the game (or not, who knows) or just bring attention. The OP has a rather game-appreciation neutral tone wording for how they want the entry; using terms like "just talk about", "letting the world know", "heartfelt, creative, effective", "meaningful", "personal", "isn't spammy", don't mean you have to approve or vouch for the game.
Conversely, OP mentions "a positive reaction", which might just be an "hmm looks intriguing", being merely as opposed to a negative post (i.e. don't flame the game/troll it or troll ppl). And then "You could describe and recommend" which is merely a suggestion, or veilleity @Prometheus is expressing. I think he can get a pass on this one, given how much work these folks must be putting in this.
And trust your followers, they sure won't judge you for making a couple short posts, so what's the cost/risk for you? Plus, in return, that may land you a free key for the test. Seems like the developer has more to lose (1 or more sales) than you (one or a couple posts?) in terms of the market-equivalent value of the alpha 2 key. Maybe that's a fairer trade-off.
On the other hand, complaining about wanting to get a key upfront -- at a stage where they decided not to be marketing to influencers -- sounds a bit pathetic at best, sorry to say, but that's my opinion. Maybe if you value so highly your own posts they'd have been spent better on your followers instead of here.
Anyhow, that's my suggestion, take it as you will
I think it's a better use of everyone's energy and is more respectful done that way, instead of whiny posts.

RE: Spread The Word & Win A Key!
Heya Prometheus and Specter!
Glad to see y'all still going strong
I was very impressed by what I saw recently, so much so I've been reconsidering my long-standing stance again so I've been poking around some of the communities I've been around to see if anyone might be interested :
Especially in the case of Chronicles of Elyria's community, a game that just completely collapsed, some players are looking for a new home!
I'll keep poking around
Cya!

@Prometheus said in Alpha 2 - Test 2 Launch Day Revealed:
actually, we've added a lot more than planned!
On time, and overdelivering?! Wow! You guys are super-heroes, total respect. We rarely see that in this industry, and I have tremendous respect for that achievement.
Keep it up!

RE: Stress Test Server Issues
@Prometheus said in Stress Test Server Issues:
The only anomalous metric is memory usage by the runtime which about 20-30 minutes after the issue starts manifesting jumps up and eats up all the RAM of the deployment. That happens when the deployment is already FUBAR though, likely because of the crazy amount of messages queued up.
Sounds like a java/jvm memory management optimization issue
Sounds like what it would do if something was accruing in the memory's younger generation without ever getting properly gc'd. Once it hits a certain threshold you get exponential diminishing returns as the underlying process spends most of its time trying to figure how to deal with its allocated memory space.
Feels to me like something on the spatialos side.

RE: December 2019 Stress Test Review
Stress test mess, you says?
makes sense, stan!
if you ain't not doin' it in jest
than its less than a stress test
it's a true mess... hiissss!
so if sh.t does die then I say
it's in the game's best interest,
and then you're just nailing the rest
'cuz you're the best, Wes!Congrats to team on hitting that mark, @Prometheus

Goodbye Fractured!
Hey everyone
Just wanted to say that I won't be sticking around for this game after all. After seeing more videos, etc. while the gameplay and design looks and sounds absolutely incredible, I don't think I can do the isometric thing. At least, I'm certain enough that I don't want to be involved in the KS portion and Early Access process, etc.
You guys were a fun bunch to hang out with back then, so I wish you all the best, IRL, in your gaming, either here or elsewhere, and maybe our paths shall cross again someday
To the dev team and other staffers around, I wish you the best of luck and much success with your game. Seems to me like you deserve it
Please just don't become huge PITAs once you get all famous and rich, k?
-HAO
P.S. : Is this the right forum for this? Since "goodbye" is conceptually diametrically opposed to the concept of "welcome", I thought why not. If not, I'm sure a mod will move it to the right place, thanks for your indulgence
P.P.S.: I wrote the following in private chat to some forummates, but I thought some of them must have had it on mute and/or no longer be in chat

RE: How did you hear about this game?
@zefireq said in How did you hear about this game?:
A mmorpg portal, but I think it should be more present in media.
I don't think it's there yet. KS coming up in June should change that.

RE: First Fractured Gameplay Video Released!
Ohhh shiny. Thanks for that, devs!!
I haven't watched the video... yet. After so long, I sort of want to keep it for the right time and place to enjoy! XD
