    • RE: Going Worldwide - Regional Servers & Localization

      @kralith I think, if they provide more servers does not mean, that you are forced to log in your nearest one. If all of you join on one server, then you will be still able to play together on the same server, but you will have to "deal" with bad latency (maybe).
      But you would have dealt with that as well, if there would have been only one worldwide server anyway.

      So more servers "just" mean more flexibility, which is good!

    • RE: July 16th Crafting & Building Q&A: List Your Questions
      1. How does house upkeep work for players without NPC carpenters and how many buildings can one player own?

      2. Will NPC carpenters use your gathered ressources for house upkeep or can they do so without any need of ressources? If they need ressources what will happen if there are none left; what is the advantage of carpenters?

      3. How many buildings are needed to become a city with its own govenor? Can everyone become a govenor?

      With this new Update 7, we will see its impact to KS, but I am confident (again) that these kind of informations will hit the goal easily.

      @gothix said in Bit worried where the Kickstarter is:

      Just sit back, support the game as much as you can (I don't mean only by cash here, but just by being here, keeping community active, and spreading the word about the game) and enjoy the trip.

      It is difficult to spread the words. People ask me questions I cannot answer because I or they rely on more information (crafting, housing, sieges - it is all possible, but how are the mechanics etc. etc.).
      We depend on devs to spread the word. And some people I hyped at the beginning lost their interest already, because in their opinion devs do too little in terms of promoting their own game and informing about the important stuff and topics (people are not interested in skins yet). In other words, an ambitious idea is, at this stage, not enough to be convincing (anymore).

      So actually, yeah... I can only JUST sit back and enjoy the trip as much as possible...

    • RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is

      @althalus same opinion as me.

      @Jairone I do not think they are or were waiting for more backers to come. There are still some backers joining everyday; but people will not get more excited if they let them wait, it is more likely that people lose interest in it, so unfortunately they are busy with sth else.

      Same with the overdued topic for next live-stream they wanted to reveal on Sunday already. I certainly do not believe they are not revealing it purposely to get people more excited, so there is most probably sth else in the bushes, which is no good sign either. I would rather reach out and say why there is a delay, instead of doing nothing/instead of spreading no news, either way there will be disappointment, but I think one way will create less than the other.

      Like I said in my other post: I also do not understand, why they are not adding our suggestions to their Kickstarter, after they approved it in doing so... What are they waiting for? 🤷‍♂️

      And even though a lot of people do not want to read this, but I must honestly admit, it is getting a bit frustrating for me (already) and therefore, slowly but surely my hype (not my general interest) is vanishing, what I really do not want to happen, but I cannot help it right now...😔

    • RE: Haven't pledged? Want to upgrade, but not sure yet? Tell us why!

      @axan22 I agree.
      I would have tried to make my lower tiers more attractive in revealing all or some stretch goals what lower tiers would have reached as well, for example.
      Unfortunately, they decided to reveal stretch goals one by one and only if it had been reached already.
      So right now it looks like we don't even get a chance to find out what stretch goals there had been, at least not on Kickstarter...

      PS: and they did not include our suggestions yet, even though they confirmed to do so... And I wonder why? 🤔

    • RE: Why MMO if you like to Solo?

      I prefer playing solo in MMORPGs because of other solo players.
      Sounds paradox? Not for me.

      I do not need guild wars nor competitions who achieved level X first nor the need to keep grinding to compete with others in PvP.

      In MMORPGs I need players thinking the same way as I do and these usually are solo players.
      Of course, you could also play a NPC driven world (like Skyrim or Witcher) but having real (un)trustful solo players around you makes the world much more alive to me and much more interesting.

      @logain Correct me if I am wrong or missed it, but wasn't it supposed to be a new live-stream topic revealed on Sunday??

      If it was revealed it still is not on kickstarter.

    • RE: Will there be Community Servers or only Official Servers?

      @jetah
      Totally fine, I never said it is bad to have one official server for all players.
      I just said, for some people RP is very important (and that's why they struggle to pledge) and therefore it won't convince them to play Fractured when IT-players and OT-players are on the same server.

      And I do not know of what games you talk about, but I also just said I experienced that community servers as for games like Ultima Online still exist and still enjoy a big population.

      But as @Flamerunner already mentioned it won't happen on Fractured anyway. So actually there is no point in imagining how it would or could be having community servers on Fractured 🙂

    • RE: Will there be Community Servers or only Official Servers?

      Well, you do not have to like it. But I am very excited and convinced so far though.

      @FibS I think LoA devs cannot be sued for intellectual property issues if third parties (=community devs) are infringing copyright.
      And as long as community is not doing it on a commercial/economic basis it looks like fair-dealing in terms of copyright law to me.
      Look at so much Steam-Workshop content, for instance. Paradox Interactive's "Stellaris", as an example, got a fan-created Warhammer 40k and Star Trek setting and either side is facing copyright issues.
      Besides, who knows, in case such copyright problems arise, maybe community (will) sort it with copyright owners officially; huge fanbases are often willing to donate/pay/pledge for their beloved projects (as we do for Fractured right now 😉 )

      Furthermore, it does not seem to be that community splits apart in massive little groups, might happen though, but not yet, so right now I'm enjoying what I see for sure 😉

      And I appreciate this way of handling "community servers". And @FibS are you sure that you cannot host inofficial LoA servers yourself as "real" community servers? As far as I know this is possible as well.

    • RE: Will there be Community Servers or only Official Servers?

      @Jetah
      Surely, this can happen, but if you check the community of Legends of Aria (LoA) , you see how huge this community is. Same is for this mod I mentioned above (Legends of Ultima).
      Others create D&D 5e ruleset and setting in Neverwinter and again a huge fanbase is participating.

      So right now LoA proves to me that community servers work.

      And in case "your" servers are dead, just go back to the officials. Thing is that at least you can build your own world and try to convince others to participate on it. And as long as your world is convincing, you won't just be alone nor a small group on it.
      For example, there are still community servers of the old classic Ultima Online (released 1997) running and still crowed 😉

      And as nice to have for Devs, you could get some money for renting out servers as well, for example...

    • RE: Will there be Community Servers or only Official Servers?

      @gofrit Well, if you put different groups on one server altogether, I still think RP won't be that easy to enjoy.

      Even if you have a huge world there are still these different types of players on this server who like to play differently.

      For people who do not care about RP (which is totally fine) won't experience "their" world much differently when meeting IT-players on the server, but for the ones who really want to enjoy proper RP will be "disturbed" by OT-players in "their" world. This kills RP in general, in my opinion.

    • RE: Will there be Community Servers or only Official Servers?

      @jetah and @FibS

      Legends of Aria obviously does as a sandbox MMORPG 😉

      And some people are already creating their own worlds on their servers as you can see here: Legends of Ultima which is basically a remake of the father of sandbox MMORPGs Ultima Online from 1997.

    • Will there be Community Servers or only Official Servers?

      If this question was already asked, my apologies.

      People asked me if there are community servers planned in Fracture?

      Without community servers (and only official servers) there most probably won't be decent roleplaying possbile which is for some people (as for me) very important.
