    • RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is

      @canterbury as I said earlier.

First impression counts for most people.

Devs already asked what should be done to get a better first impression, we came up with suggestions as roadmaps etc., they noticed it and still "only" add new skins (i.e. drawings or artworks at this stage) to Kickstarter updates as their main focus.

Q&A is nice, especially for people like us who are already convinced in supporting, but not for newcomers, who do not want to spend hours in watching a Q&A for a game they hardly know.

And to be honest, skins/artworks do not draw my attention at this point at all, especially, if these skins are more focused for the higher tiers of backers.

Of course, every new backer who is willing to pledge this project for a couple of 100$ is welcomed more than people only backing 20₮, but as far as it has been on Kickstarter, I would try to convince the lower tier backers first, who might form a mass of mini pledges.

I am not angry with devs at all, still supporting it, but it feels like Kickstarter promotion was and still is a bit underestimated by the devs.

      In metaphorical sense:
Do not try to sell your most expensive exotic parrot which can talk in languages fluently of your petshop first. Hamsters are also fun and can entertain even though they are cheaper and you need to sell way more of these to compensate one parrot.

I know weird example, but I hope you know where I'm getting to...

I can just repeat myself, time is running fast, every second (still) counts, so keep on throwing content on Kickstarter as much as possible and start selling your hamsters to the people as well ;).

For the German community to reach this dude might be helpful.

I just found him recently while I was looking for MMORPGs on the internet and he convinced me for a game already.
He does not have tons of followers, but the ones who follow, probably would like "Fractured" as well, because he does Let's Plays for UO and LoA.

    • RE: Is the game will be F2P?And more?

@nightcoder Well, there are which work. Look at PUBG for example, one time buy and still a huge community cannot stop playing it.

New content (mostly skins) create tons of money for them still.
I must admit, I am not interested in that kind of stuff, but I am glad that there are enough people out there willing to pay for a different skin which does not affect any game mechanics.

Could not attend live stream either, but thx for uploading it so quickly.

And thank you for replying to our questions. First you skipped my question (about planet sizes) because of your short powercut you had I guess, but came back to it after couple of minutes again 👍

      Keep up your great work!

    • RE: What games (besides this one) is everyone excited about?

Do not know if Devs do like me to post sth like this, so if this is not allowed do not hesitate to inform me please.

Because I am looking forward to a similiar game to Fractured (at least how I imagine it).

Everyone who loved Ultima Online, probably already knows following:
"Legends of Aria", specifically Legends of Ultima!!

A fansbased community is allowed to transform the Ultima Online Universe into the game "Legends of Aria" (kind of a mod). There is closed beta for "Legends of Aria" right now and it is supposed to be open beta in August and in fall 2018 early-access on Steam, at least what I have read about.

    • RE: Firendly fire?

      I absolutely agree.
FF adds tactical combat and will prevent mass attacking without needing to "care" about your teammates. Without FF it is just boring or nothing special as in other MMOs.

However, it seems difficult to be implemented, if there is no PVP for beastman's planet or beastmen themselves.
Only solution to implement it I can imagine so far is, that PVP in general is switched off on beastman's planet... Which would beastmen allow to kill each other on other planets again, which is still not planned to be possible, if I am correct.

Wow, did not expect to be drawn ao quickly, because I just joined your community.
      🙂 Lucky me.

Who decides if posts are worth to put into the drawing, though? Is it bots or is there actually a person reading ALL posts??

    • RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is

@dulu I would have agreed few days ago.
But as far as I noticed, there have been more backers yesterday than the other two days before yesterday.

If this keeps more or less this level of new backers, they should be fine (even though I expected way more backers as well)

    • RE: July 3rd Survival & Travel Q&A: List Your Questions
      1. How big will the planets themselves be? How long does it take to travel from one place to another on the same planet?

      2. How long will it take to travel from one planet to foreign planet and how long can different races travel on foreign planets?

      3. Will there be fast-travel implemented?

Thanks in advance for answering and hosting this Q&A 🙂

    • RE: Will be real action?

After I watched the combat video my very first thought was: seems to be like "Divinity: Original Sins 2".
Excpect of being real-time and not turn-based.

If the environment is as important as in Divinity 2, we gonna have a hell lot of fun in this game.
And still, there is gonna be so much more besides combat... 😊

    • RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is

I just joined the community recently.
I read about Fractured in a news article the very first time 3 days ago and did not know anything about it.

But as an old fan of "Ultima Online", they drew my attention quickly. I did not play MMOs since then and was or am somehow in the mood to dig into one again.

However, I understand why people are worrying about the pledges so far.

Honestly, I wonder reading some posts on this forum and am suprised that Fractured's own community struggles to pledge in it.
If they do not do it how will others? There are way too less people out there likewise me who just stumbled over this game unpurposely and are just missing old "Ultima Online"-times and wanna give it a chance now again.

This project is ambitious but obviously not convincing many other people yet. And there I see a failure.

Most people decide within seconds, and therefore, the very first impression is the most valueable one. If you did not convince the very first time, it will get more and more difficult to do later. Maybe the devs were too excited to kick this off too early who knows?

But "only" 20-30 more pledges (I think) in 2 more days, is not much I believe.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to sound pesimistic, there is still time to achieve their goal. But I must agree, I expected more after I joined kickstarter and your community, especially afteer I found out how big this community already is.

But hope and trust still lasts.

    • RE: Haven't pledged? Want to upgrade, but not sure yet? Tell us why!

      @prometheus I pledged as well.
But as one member mentioned somewhere in this forum before: digital game community got disappointed a lot in the past if their beloved games were funded via Kickstarter or sth similar. They lost faith and trust in this method, and I cannot blame them. I do not have to mention all different titles everyone knows which were and so are a disaster and do not get finished.

So to convince people: a Roadmap of the development might definetly help in my opinion.
If possible, I would apply one in the campaign details on Kickstarter.

    • RE: Kickstarter Update #1 - A Big Thank You & What's Next

      @kostan I totally agree.
If the devs "only" try to reach to the 100k the information which already got dropped might be enough for people to support it (as I did).

But if they want to get this project much more supported and reach 200k and above, this won't be enough imo.

Unsure backers or interested people need to see more specific content (as often and as much as possible). For example, my attention to other Kickstarter projects was most of the times more attracted if I was able to see all stretch goals or at least some. They decided against this method, more risky in my opinion, but surely I am just telling my thoughts and don't know how other feel or react.

In the end: As long as it runs on Kickstarter every second counts to convince newly drawn backers. So let's see and wait, how they do it and what will come next.

    • RE: New Ultima Online?

@greenfire Sounds logic and hope it will be more or less like you said.

Well, so far I must admit that the human planet inspires me most, because of the feudal system and both PVE and PVP action.

But be aware, I am only keen to become a crafter if it is fun to play as one 😉 if battle and fighting is more fun and devs put their main focus on that one, I'll most probably swing swords as well ðŸĪš

    • RE: Farmer/ Herder or Miner/ Woodcutter?

@evolgrinz I am excited the same way you are about choosing a "city-life" character to craft and support other players in selling my crafted items.

However, I am a bit concerned if we can really enjoy this "way of life" with this knowledge-system or more specifically with this resting-system as I stated in the other thread New Ultima Online?

Please feel free to reply, I would be interested what you think about my concerns.

      Cheers!

    • Ingame Currency (Not talking about Dynamight Gold)

      Good Morning everyone.

I've checked in topic "A compilation of everything we know about Fractured" (https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/1612/a-compilation-of-everything-we-know-about-fractured/20) and did not find any relating post regarding ingame currency.

Are there any news about it yet?

      BTW:

      • I am not talking about the Dynamight Gold which is used for ingame shops to buy cosmetic items.
      • I am talking about the currency our characters will use to purchase items in NPC's/player's shops, like weapons or food.

It would be great (finally) to expierence a RPG where characters do not get spoiled with money, and because of that items just cost thousands of thousands ingame currency.
I mean do lords and kings in these worlds not worry about their inflation rates? 😉

No, seriously, it would be in fact awesome - especially if this game aims to be dynamic and wants players to create economy and society - if there will not be so much ingame currency loot/drops and one gold coin would be actually worth sth ingame. And therefore, trading/exchanging items for other items would also be more reasonable in comparison to other games.

And still if this game focused on more buying than trading, there would be still no need to create a massive inflation, so that for example 5 Gold coins in your pocket are already a solid stake.

      Or what do you think?

    • RE: New Ultima Online?

@greenfire this was a very nice summary for a newcomer as I am.

Thank you, your post also helped a lot. I started to find out more and more about this game and I'm getting more and more excited.

However, I am not totally convinced of this resting system yet. Especially for characters who enjoy crafting, trading and city-life-roleplaying seem to suffer the most, imo.

Because, if a warrior skilled character needs some crafted equipment, he can just transform into a crafter/trader easily and then turn back into a warrior when creating a special gear is finished. It is hard to believe that there will be long term motivation for crafting or city life characters if they are not "special/uncommon" in this world.

By the end I hope players will prove me wrong 😉
