RE: PvE Planet with PvP
When I played Runescape there was only full loot PvP in wilderness.
That's the point: in rs the duel arena allows you to set the duel rules and select the items you will loose in case of defeat. No loot actually drops on death.

RE: Server Pop?
@Jetah Imho that's just unrealistic: the audience for these games is not that large. Even with enough marketing fractured won't rake in so many players. Even Old School Runescape which is a blooming established MMO at it's peak only rakes in 140k concurent players max.

RE: PvE Planet with PvP
@Tuoni To be fair with the economy concern addressed I think that giving up unconsentual PvP on Arb is a great route. Previously I thought that partial PvP is a half-measure to kinda sorta stabilise and counteract the safe resourse influx, but as it turned out it's not true at all and I think that it would be best to only allow dueling on Arboreus, think runescape duel arena kinda deal: set your rules and battle it out.
Although I am too intending to main a human on Syndesia these are my thoughts on the topic. -
RE: Ahoy
@Bovinicus Welcome, it sure looks promising, that's the reason we're all here after all

RE: Server Pop?
@Prometheus Wow, 10k per continent is a number I was not expecting to see ':D

RE: Server Pop?
@JBuben If we have the max capacity of a large city plot as 200 and have like 12 of them on just Myr, than it makes the total player capacity of the world as it is planned currently to be at
200 * 12 = 2400 * 3 (for 3 continents) * 3 (for 3 planets) = 21600.
That excludes all the individual plots which would probably sum up to something like 23000. -
RE: Looting? Pickpocketing? Or Lock picking & Burglary
@Logain I'll take your word for it and, well, I'm completely lost now.
Guess my best bet is to shut up and wait for more dev info drops on the topic
Thanks for clearing things up -
RE: PvE Planet with PvP
@Tuoni Ok so I've said that I was going to restrain from doing this any further but there seems to have been a giant misunderstanding that has never been cleared or addressed by any party period.
I am not arguing for Arboreus to become a PvMer slaughterhouse, not at all. I am just stating my concern with how the uncontested influx of items may unpredictably affect the economy globally.
While yes, more PvP on Arb is a way to fix that, I myself do not support it as it really is intrusive and just plain douchey.
But with Specter dropping info that leads me to think that one won't be able to find any given resource on more then one planet, this concern may be no longer valid.
Let's just please get over it and shake hands/make love/whatever, doing this needless and pointless beef isn't fun for anyone involved. -
RE: Leader board broken?
Oh this was a "haha-funny", my bad
Actually thougt something happened to the leaderboards ':D -
RE: Looting? Pickpocketing? Or Lock picking & Burglary
To be fair I'm not really sure what to think of this anymore, this is all too hypothetical and based on assumptions and educated guesses, there's really no point in continuing to argue over something that we really don't know much about: only time will tell.
By the way Specter dropped some interesting info on this topic in the other thread, screenshot below. -
RE: Looting? Pickpocketing? Or Lock picking & Burglary
@Logain No I was talking precicely about that but I get what you're saying. Let's say I'm transporting a bunch of our hypothetical items from Arb to Tar and get PKed and robbed half way through. This still means that the X amount of items I moved still got a little closer to my original destination where the item is extremely rare. The brigands that took my goods will most likely sell them off at the closest town, and they will get picked up by someone else willing to run them for profit. It will eventually get to it's original destination. And while in, say, Albion it's okay because there are a ton of different items which all have their own dynamic: no two items are exactly alike. On the other hand here the economy as I understand it will not be too diverse and because there is a constant supply of this item because we are considering it to be common or Arb, the stream of merchers will be steady enough that very soon it will be of pretty medium rarity at the final destination on Tar and therefore not too overpriced.
P.S: here I am considering that travel costs are included in the supply price for simplicity's sake and i didn't really mean that the whole errand would be safe per se, what I'm saying is that one wouldn't loose much in case of failure, at least if close to the supply point. -
RE: Leader board broken?
@Gibbx What's the problem here? I don't see anything wrong on the screenshot ':\
