Custom dictates a god should ignore pesky heroes as they die from hubris, but I'll make an exception this time. Greetings, inferior creation.

      Lmao!😆

Ho?! which are you @chrightt? a god? a pesky hero? or dead from hubris? Goes without saying that you are the last of those 3; for all the old gods are dead. Killed by these hands!

I shall accept your greetings and spare your remaining lives as I am feeling rather benevolent this hour.

    • RE: Contracts?

      @evolgrinz said in Contracts?:

An exploit that is happening in EVE is people set up a contract or something worthless, put up a high collateral value on it and a good payout. They also usually pick a location with 1 way in and out and then just camp there when someone picks up the contract and when the person who took it gets into the system they jump him and destroy the ship.
Since the delivery failed, they get the collateral value payed out to them.

To counter this you simply could add a thumbs up or down vote in the end of a contract so it's easier to spot who the trustworthy ones are and who not.

This is another reason why an insurance feature would be of great help. In this instance, let's say the insurance features are:

      • collateral aligned with value
      • a premium 'safe'

      An example:

A Trader goes into a contract with A Courier to move goods of let's say 500 gold worth of value.
The courier charges maybe 250 gold for his/her services.

      1. The contract should ensure that the collateral is not higher than the estimated value of the goods
      2. Security should be paid for by the courier- let's say - 20 gold to each member of the security team upon delivery
      3. Supplementary insurance feature - let's say a premium "safe and key" created by a player master smith/enchanter, costing said creator 30 gold to produce.
      • The Courier might decide to buy this safe at let's say 50 gold. The key is then handed to the trader. The trader could also buy the lock, apply it to the goods and keep the key.
      • If the courier is robbed during transit, the thieves will need the key to get into the safe.
      • The only other way to break into the safe would be to use a master 'thief' skill and a premium lockpick that costs more than 50 gold.

This way, a lot of player occupations are involved - merchant, Smith/enchanter, courier, trader, thieves.

I'm not saying there won't be loopholes to exploit regardless. What I stated above is just a simple example, not very well thought out.

My main point is - an insurance feature should be in place for a true player-driven trade system to succeed but said insurance feature should not make it impossible for bandit roles to succeed either.

Obviously, the matter of how plausible it is to implement such features is another thing entirely.

Just here, throwing out crazy ideas :man_playing_handball_tone4:

    • RE: Animals

@33hp Nice ideas. I'm particularly a fan of the migration idea, that seems like a really cool feature to tie with the full seasonal system. Different animals are more active at different times.

I don't know if an animal crossbreeding system has been discussed but I think that would be pretty cool as well and would likely add a lot of depth to taming. This could be supplemented with a diet system where tamers rely on gathers to get nutritious meals for pets.

Lol, probably a bit OTT (over the top) but its always fun to throw these ideas out there.

      @miffi said in Identifying Items:

Would like to see some kind of 'trade' mechanic where a player can identify an item for someone for a fee without the owner requiring to trade the item. Would be a nice way for those focusing on magic and intelligence to make a little money on the side or help out guild mates. Just wondering what others thought on the matter!

This reminds me of "The legendary moonlight sculptor". A lot of the points I've read regarding Fractured really remind of the manhwa.
It'd be great if this and similar concepts could be introduced. It would tie in very nicely to the devs vision of a true player driven economy

In line with that, I say greetings. I am Nazul...well Ifritth on the forums, I suppose....errr...I'm not sure if I should be in character now or only when I'm controlling my character in game...

      Anyway, Remember the name!
Errr...also, keep up the good work Devs. I will be praying to myself that your vision is brought to perfect fruition.
...What? did you think that an Overlord such as myself would acknowledge the existence of a being greater than I? Haha...Do not make me laugh mortal.

      Welcome aboard Nazul 🤗

      Thanks, captain 🙂

@exodouz Those aren't silly points at all. They make perfect sense. Its pretty much how I always go for a mage as I find them fascinating. I'm really looking forward to how the devs execute the pet system. I haven't played a lot of Arpg's so this will be a grand experiment for me.

    • RE: Contracts?

@evolgrinz I believe this to be a brilliant idea. Especially coupled with the rating system you've integrated with it.

I'm wondering what you think about an insurance system as well?

I understand that something like insurance will likely be needlessly hard to implement but I think it could really add another dimension to trade and could tie into the contracts as well.

An insurance system would minimize the risk for merchants and couriers especially when massive guilds of bandits occupy the normal travel routes.
I'm not sure how the global economy works but this could tie into that as well.

Something like this could also give rise to a 'banker/insurer* profession or skill (I promise I'm not a capitalist) that thrives on charisma and teamwork. A role very suited to the Udoadra ..

I've never played a sandbox game so I'm really just throwing a supplementary idea out there

    • RE: Feature Spotlight #4 - Skills Galore

Honestly never knew I'd been missing out on ARPG's all this time. Currently on early access for Wolcen and I, like most people, am eagerly awaiting the release of Lost Ark.

This being said, I am excited by the prospect of Fractured and I plan on following the game very closely.

I've been through this particular post a couple of times and feel I just need to point out that personally, I find some of the animations too long/slow. The necromancy animation in particular. It looks cool and makes a lot of sense, but being locked in animation like that will be annoying. This might have been deliberate and if that's the case, I'm more than happy to wait and test it out. If not tho, it might be worth considering.

I'll be looking forward to more posts, keep up the good work 😄
