@Savitr said in Support/Bard Type Archetypes?:

@asspirin many people would and will spend to buy multiple accounts, as well as multiple machines. Especially when skills are limited and they can use other characters to put at risk, that helps maintain the safety of the main. It’s why figuring out the stance on such things is important.

you're talking the funding of an indie company vs a few players who'll multibox 20 accounts; where most (that multibox) will have 2-5 max.
one reason WoW allows it is because of the subscription. Fractured will have an optional sub so who knows.

we dont have burst damage though. they said time to kill would be longer than it is in the old alpha.

you dont 'choose' a karma. you have to grind it.

good beast can't attack other good karma players. if they want to lower their karma they have to do so on the human planet.

the whole game is against the demons.

portals to the beast planet last 30 minutes then non-positive karma players are forcefully removed from the planet.

@Farlander said in What will be the in-game gold sinks?:

I prefer there to be a basic coinage system in the game. Doing everything in gold coins is much easier than some king of conversion system designated from bartering. It allows a player to convert all their junk items into one easily stored item in the form of coins. Then dealing with npcs will produce coins into the system from missions to buying/selling items. Everything becomes easier using a money system. Why do you think all societies in then world adopted one?

it was adopted because of control. the gov can print as much as it wants to buy/fund whatever it wants. the effect is 'higher wages' and higher cost of goods but if you dumb down the population (like social promotion) then you can tell them they're making more so spend it!

Market deployment as well as ways to keep things accessible to newer players will be important for the longevity of the game. Coin sinks are important, but finding the balance is needed.

      @Farlander
We know there's some sort of coin, or barter item exists because Governors of towns set a tax rate as described in Towns, Governors & Politics (one of the previous spotlights)

taxes can be raw resources tho. depending on the UI it could be anything; weapons, armor, food, water, etc. (i'm sure it'll be gold tho, it'll be boring.)

Citizen it's time to pay your tax...

      Oh ok (hands gold over)

?????? Why are you giving me gold, hand me your underwear

maybe bath water as an alternative?

Of course I'm going to have multiple accounts... This way I can flip the market, buff or scout while also playing on my main. I mean, lots of people do that.

and it's easier to scout with an empty character too.

sorry i don't meant inbetween guilds, i meant no friendly fire in one guild. but yeah now that you mention it one hyperbig demon guild will prevent demons to fight each other too, as for now but i guess they will implement something to prevent such stuff

have those that wanna fight just gquit. to have gvg just have those that want to fight over something create a temporary guild for it.

they confirmed it in discord that there will be no friendly fire inbetween guilds

so 1 guild can exist on the demon planet to prevent FF... all negative karma humans can be in a guild to negate FF there.

Ok, so now that buffers are confirmed, what is the stance on dual boxing? You know, bufferslaves are not unheard of in other games...

people will always complain if they exist. they give 1 person a possible advantage with 2 characters, against another. only thing you can really do against that type is to CC/Root one character so it isn't near the fighter (if they move together).

    • RE: Name OP ability / mechanic experienced in other pvp arpg/mmorpg/moba

if i remember correctly the rogue in WoW needed a weapon, although the training dagger you obtain at level 1 worked.

stun locks and such mechanics are horrible for pvp focused games with full loot. Even in Eve, if you're ship is energy vamped (drain the power of the ship) and webbed (prevents the ship from moving or warping away), there is still the pod that gives a slight chance of the character escaping death. Fantasy games dont have that escape chance when you're completely unable to move your character.

yeah i didn't start one. i must have added it to a post about 'wanted' classes/play styles.

i hope they add one. complete with instruments and cords that have to be played for the spells.

... and if you plug your guitar hero controller and shred the song on it the buff gets extra effects.

      what's a guitar hero controller?

and i've played a Bard that required cords to be played to proc their abilities! it was pretty unique. I believe I posed about it in a dedicated Bard thread.

Don't forget that @Kralith"s Coffee will cost you an arm and a leg too. So you better start saving!

Well the arm or the leg is the mild form... it will cost the souls.
But shhhhh don't reveal it! πŸ˜‰

so long as the arm and leg doesn't have to belong to me, i'm ok with that price!

some people have put 100-10k cash into the game

The highest option was $5k. Where are you getting $10k from?

easier typing. and just because the package was listed at 5k, doesn't mean you couldn't offer more when you selected it!

@Razvan said in What will be the in-game gold sinks?:

@Jetah Those are not coin sink mechanisms, it's just money being moved from a player to another. Money sink is a system meant to reduce inflation (as much as possible). Usually it's done by removing money from the server via NPC (ex: buying stuff from them or paying a fee to start a siege).
Anyway, we know that the game will have an item sink mechanism so crafting remains relevant, but we don't know how it will work in detail. Money sink is even a more obscure detail and since the game is quite early in development, I wouldn't be surprised if DS haven't thought about it yet.

depends on how repairs are done. and gear or house requires repairs.
