I watched an anime where the strongest magical users also had strong bodies. the idea was magic was housed in the body and strong bodies could house more mana and/or stronger mana. it was an interesting concept which I haven't seen before.

I also assume there will be defense spells that'll mitigate that need for HP. unless there's a type of damage that ignores spell based defenses.

basic gear will have to be quick to make and provide a decent amount of defense and offense.

until they produce the Spotlight we can only speculate.

you start to type within the bracket and it'll popup similar to autocorrect or other popup menus. You don't have to scroll through 3k items to get the one you want. Emoji's are similar when you start with : then start to type it'll show the ones associated.

level to 70, bounties, rift for gear while running grifts for leg gems.

i don't see that as a theme park. you can skip bounties (if your build doesn't need the royal ring).

i agree, Minecraft is a good example of horrible graphics but near infinite gameplay.

I don't think you'll need very specific builds because not everyone will unlock everything. They said the game will be solo friendly which means very specific builds wont work.

I do believe generic dps, healer and tank builds will work for majority of the pve content. if you want to pvp then I wouldn't ever suggest a translation but to use voice communications.

If you use that second link, to github, you'll see over 2800 auto translated words and phrases with specific FFXIV spell, job (class) words. The same thing can be done with Fractured. Fractured could have an easy way to link what skills a user has unlocked (and ranks) so you can ask them to build a certain way (which would suck also). Or a way to quickly link the currency skills/passives you have in your bar.

advantages are you can look at all regions but can't buy. (same way a 3rd party would work). BUT DS could have skills (passive, maybe, in the Business/Profession section) to actually see them.

I don't want to need to check a website to see something for sale then track it down in game only to find out it's sold/removed. I just want to see it in game if it exist.

do you expect them to just start it and not notify everyone? I'm quite sure they'll tweet it, post a news story, post a KS backer update, etc. When it's ready, you'll know.

sounds like a secondary stat for learning is definitely needed then. The primary attribute could grant 75% of the training time while the secondary grants 25%. Maybe 60/40.

we'll have to see what DS does.

yeah i don't mind some things being tedious but not getting fish isn't video game things.

just have to make a great argument for it. I'd love it because it would open the game up to disabled people and those that haven't fully adapted to KBM (console players that swapped).

maybe the game plays well with a controller and using a KBM is actually worse.

i would like the spear fishing on Tartaros so long as it can be used in combat too!

-- Pre-written phrases can help for some simple situations, but for very little of situations. If you don't know english, you will never really morph in to a international group and start playing with this group.

people have done raids with the FFXIV auto translation so yes it's completely possible to do more than you think.

you didn't read all of the auto phrases translated in FFXIV did you. There's well over 200 pre-selected words/phrases. again this wouldn't be a type in your language and it's auto translation but you pick from the list and when you hit enter that phrase/text is translated on the client side, as noted on the FFXIV wiki I posted. not everyone is going to learn english. not everyone can learn it. the community could create the translations in their language so DS doesn't have to pay for it (or they can pay for it but that's up to them).

all places should be dangerous except outside of the safe places on the pve planet.

Bait shouldn't give yield but different fish. Now bait could have some durability so that one type of bait may be used longer than others but it would be neat to have to get bait (shovel for some type of worms, net for crawfish, net for dragonflies, maybe even using caught fish as bait, or similar). This would give the opportunity for a bait profession to exist.
