    • RE: The decision for public vs citizens-only crafting stations should be made by Governors, not Dynamight

I'm inclined to agree with Nekrage here. I have no problem with casuals and solo's having their place in the world, such as the beastmen lands etc, but when peoples cities are ALL turned into safe zones, it's changing the direction of the game significantly. I'd argue too much.

I would be happy with a compromise such as say......3/4 NPC cities across map which are classed as safe zones, and then player towns are restricted to the actual guilds (with obvious benefits over NPC cities).

@BlueGoblin said in Winter Alpha Spotlight โ€“ City Overhaul:

players can no longer run a small hamlet on their own. Youโ€™re now forced to be part of a coalition.

@Prometheus This is a question I would like addressing on the stream if possible. In regards to the above quote, the recent changes imply that smaller guilds will not be able to have their own settlements, but rather each land mass will only cater to roughly 30 guilds. This changes the dynamic of the game in a huge way, forcing large coalitions and deterring playing in smaller groups or with friends. How do you vision this working? - I must confess I much prefer the idea of more smaller towns than just large cities.

Also, I was discussing the fact that all cities are safe zones with a friend, and he made a valid point that we could essentially go into an enemy territory, hide inside an enemy city and wait for them to leave the boundaries. Once they are outside of their own city, we chase and kill them, only to return and be defended by their own (our enemies) territory. This feels as though it could be very easily abused. What are your thoughts on this?

Allow us to set how open our territory is. Closed - Selective - Open.

I have to agree with this. The idea that all cities are safe zones and usable even by your enemies just feels terrible.

Yes it will. It's however not a priority, so will be a quality of life update in the future, after release.

    • RE: Can we still play the game if there isn't a current test?

Just to point out that I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that there is another Alpha test in February which is expected to last for several weeks.

The exact date hasn't been announced yet though.

    • RE: How hyped are you?

I'm probably checking the website and forum around about twice a day, which I honestly didn't expect to be doing having previously lost my confidence in the MMO market. This was mainly due to bad/greedy company practices and MMO's loosing their original direction.

I find myself somewhat impressed by the company so far, and the development of the game has me genuinely hopeful. The company seem to be trying to do everything right to build a solid base for their game and gain a reputation. If they manage to pull this off (so far so good) then the reception on entering the MMO market will be positive, and should attract a decent quantity of players.

Needless to say, as a result I am incredibly hyped. If there was an option, I would play the game right now, throughout it's continued early development.

Heck, last night I was even dreaming about the game. So they are obviously doing something right.

      Roll on next Alpha test.

    • RE: End game?

Once it's all fleshed out, I assume it will be that those with the best gear, will obviously be a lot stronger. That said, if someone with lesser gear (let's say medium quality/rarity) could still put up a decent fight if they have the right skill level, or.....take an opportunistic approach, such as attacking them when they are unprepared etc.

Also, as a lot of this game is group based. I'd probably put my money on 2x undergeared people fighting a 1x overgeared person. Numbers will matter in this universe.

I'm personally a big fan of chat bubbles. Adds a lot to the immersion I find. At least for me personally.

    • RE: Can a brother get a compass?

Having played around for a while now, I don't think anything else is needed on top of what we already have. The map is easy enough to use and I wouldn't want anything else added that might take away from the feeling of adventure.

    • RE: Cash Shop idea for the DEVS

      Actually......not a bad idea.

I'd be onboard with that. It doesn't effect anything other than the music, so there's no unfair advantage. Helps the devs and helps people customize their characters / homes more. I can't think of a downside off the top of my head.

Probably not a priority, but could be a small money maker further down the line.

Unable to view anything in Discord Channel?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to join the discord channel, but it seems I don't have permission to even do the basic things such as view general chat.

Is there anything I need to know / do before I message the server admin?

      Otherwise.....See you on the 15th!

    • RE: No Hunger & Rest Depletion In Towns.

@Razvan said in No Hunger & Rest Depletion In Towns.:

I don't like the hunger system in the first place. It serves no purpose other than saying "this is a survival game because it was a hunger system". In the end, it doesn't add anything to the game and it's a nuisance. Food should give buffs based on ingredients, that's it.

I completely disagree. I really enjoy hunger systems in all games. It's a major selling point to me and helps build an economy. Plus, the hunger in the game depletes incredibly slowly. All you need to do is buy a stack of food from someone and it's likely to last you a few days.

I wouldn't be surprised if later down the line we get some guilds / people that like to focus on RP, so I would expect such things to happen.

    • RE: No Hunger & Rest Depletion In Towns.

Personally I say no, hunger should remain the same.

Hunger at present doesn't seem hard to replenish, and it helps the food economy (which encourages trading). A lot of people spend vast amounts of time in towns trading and messing around, so it makes sense that hunger still has a function within towns.

That said, a fair compromise would be if a player hasn't moved or had interaction for say....20mins, they get an AFK status that slows hunger down by...50% or similar.

Thank you for the reply. Honestly, I should have used the search function. For some reason it's the one thing I always forget to do on forums.

Don't think there is any questions I have that haven't been answered there. Thanks again.

    • Question - Taming details?

      Hi everyone.

Just a quick question, I'm really impressed with the foundations so far, having done a little testing on the Alpha.

It appears that taming hasn't yet been implemented or fully designed, which is fine, it will come. However I was just wondering if there are any details on what has been proposed for this particular skill / class yet.

Any information or links would be appreciated. Otherwise, keep up the great work!

      Kind regards.
