      Aren't asteroids kind of doing just that? They are generated (opened) dynamically and then can close again. They might contain special items terrain, creatures, materials,... and they could very well determine their appearance on some events?

      Shouldn't all of that be discussed in about 2-4 years when the core game is finished, released, works successfully and a list of next features to implement is compiled and evaluated? The risk of feature creep in software development is real.

      Don't forget that the packages come with a certain amount of 'D-gold' and it might be used as reward/incentive later down the road, so I wouldn't really count on a specific amount just yet.

      Is the possible 'Test server access (feature preview, always online)' included with the Kickstarter pledges, or does that refer to an optional additional purchase and the Kickstarter one is 'only' for the milestone tests?
      And is 'party' and the resulting loot/knowledge distribution not an option to focus for the next test?

      You're not supposed to get 'stronger', that's the main reason of your confusion. You are supposed to get more possibilities. A trivial example used in most games would be fire, ice and earth attacks all cause roughly the same amount of damage, but there are enemies that are weak to one and strong against another. For example, you won't get anywhere trying to attack a FIRE shaman with fire. That's why it took you that long to kill a bear with daggers, it isn't meant to work well. Kill it with a bow or a pike and it's a matter of 20 seconds, not several minutes. There are enemies where your daggers would be incredibly useful (although you never meet them, because they are a bit further from the starting locations, which is why at character creation it clearly stated that starting out with daggers is the most difficult choice...). So, instead of getting 'better', you are getting more versatile, being able to kill enemies you couldn't before, simply because now you have access to different strategies, not because of being 'stronger'.
      So, yes, there is some receptive effect to acquiring knowledge in Fractured, that can't be denied. But as an example, it took me an hour to gain the seven new skills at Goblins. If you consider that 'grind', I think you've never played some other, real grind, games. You have to be somewhat smart about what you're doing though.

      While the games target audience is certainly not mainstream, there's no harm in providing your feedback? I think your main confusion comes from Fractureds concept of horizontal progression, but without more details (which would derail this thread and hence should be voice where they are supposed to be), that is hard to tell.

      Right now, there is no game to play, but an Alpha to test. That's why QA is normally a paid job. But players often want an 'early look' and this specific test was simply about numbers, namely, how many players can the server handle without issues.
