Isn't it a bit early to discuss this though? There's still a lot of functionality missing in the game that has to be finished first before there's any spare amount of resources to dedicated on additions. Feature creep is a very real threat in game development.

That's something only the future could tell you. There has been no open statement about such plans, so I wouldn't count on it to happen, but it is always a possibility with games when they are forced to seek a different revenue model.

Certainly! What I'm curious about though is if others can repair your house. That way, if your home is in a town, you could easily 'hire' a player to maintain a large deal of the houses in that town.

I'd assume that's simply a balancing issue likely to be attended during Beta 2 stage, where they have a more firm grasp on the rough amount of customers and their preferences concerning planet and zone.

Assets are a huge part of the work and it would likely depend how well the engines (Unity and SpatialOS) can handle this with the current camera. But since they are planning dungeons and asteroids, I would at least consider a larger underground area 'viable'. Handling water does require a lot of new mechanics though.

That's likely far easier to implement as well, although granted I have yet to bother looking into how SpatialOS works, simply going by the top down view.
