      I'm not sure if that is necessarily bad? Conflict can arise through shortage of resources and that can drive player interaction. I'd see that as a positive side for multi player games.

      I can see mine, where are you checking for your rank? Not that it really matters much anymore, since pre-alpha key distribution is already fixed and the Leadership board doesn't seem to be determining anything else.

      And are you guesstimating their implementation requirements in terms of SpatialOS and Unreal Engine (4)? Since these two can help to drastically decrease the workload of a developer.

      The way 'stretch goals' work is that you 'stagger' them in a way that the first goal helps 'paying' for the following goal. By reaching goal 1, you can hire the artist/engineer, whatever was needed to work on that for some fixed amount of time. And that person can help on goal 2 after finishing goal 1 before the 'job expires' without needing an additional artist/engineer.

      Peoples situation in life can change drastically and fast. But in such a case, there's always the option to invite more testers. It's not like this is a time critical scenario, since the developers have plenty of systems to work on till people spam them with bugs 😉

      Depending on their policies, that's something the community is quite capable of itself. If that's the case, I'm sure that somebody is going to take care of it, if not, I'd say the developers have different priorities right now 😉

      That's exactly why I asked 😉 Depending on their business hours (can't be 9 to 5 CET, right?) some testers might never even make it to one of the time frames. Battle Royal had that issue for their test.

      Sweet, good progress despite the minor delay!
      One quick question on the 'frequent downtimes' part of the FAQ, does that mean we're going to see time frames for testing, or does it mean 'persistent server which is going to see updates (and thus downtimes) periodically'?

      I'm going to save my hype till after Beta 1, when most of the mechanics are supposedly in place and we can estimate the rate of progress. I've been in many a Kickstarter games and hype is not really the best possible companion 😉

      I'd rather they focus on getting a 'decent' Alpha 1 build (after the Pre-Alpha, which is less important due to NDA), because that content is going to be critical as it will be streamed. And first impression are rather important on this market, so while make pressure on releasing pre-alpha, take your time releasing Alpha 1.

      I'd wager that the real influx is going to come shortly after the first alpha 1 videos become public, followed by another low and then a high around the start of beta 2.
      But as long as they aren't relying on the Kickstarter funding, that's less of an issue anyway.

      You might have misunderstood me. I am in favor of using both email and a forum PM.
      What I meant to hint at is that you don't have to worry that much about 'missing out' on testing having started until there are more posts in the Pre-Alpha-Testing forum.

      I'd guess that the amount of postings in the 'Pre-Alpha Testing' forum is a rather good indication of when/if it has started. Then again, I could be totally wrong. I simply hope they are going to let the community know one way or another, since that's an important step and might raise a little more funding.

      Thanks a bunch for the clarification! In that case, could somebody edit the funding page to reflect this?
      Maybe edit the text to say:
      'will continue doing so until Alpha 1' instead of 'will continue doing so throughout 2018'

      If that's the case, why mention 2018? You could have just left that blank or say 'for a while',... 'till Alpha 2',... It make sense to cut of the period early on in production, since you want the additional funds to go towards securing your minimum viable product and you can't 'hire' additional team members with funds that come in too late.

      The problem is that it's highly unlikely for Alpha 1 footage being available before 2019, considering that pre-alpha hasn't event started by now. And the 'stretch goal funding process' ends 2018. Maybe we should petition @Prometheus to extend stretch funding as much as Alpha 1 is delayed?
