Out of curiosity, what kind of 'bugs' are we talking about there? Could you describe something?

I'm willing to bet with you that's not going to be any sort of limitation at all.
@gofrit said in VIP system : What do you think ?:
(...)why you focus on the difference between Lv1 lv2 or lv3(...)better to ask(...)the average time required to have all the stuff ready to gather resources and create a learning book.
You see, that's the problem of perception between play-styles. @Jetah is an experienced PvP player, who has likely played countless MMORPGs and MOBAs before and he plans to play as Demon. As such, he knows that there's going to be attacks on him from the first second he enters the game (unlike people playing as Beastman who can easily judge when they feel 'ready' to go for a brawl). Knowledge points are a 'hard limiting cap', as in they can not be obtained in another way. Resources can (easily) be acquired through either PvP loot (or as other people on the forum have openly stated that they are going to run gathering bots) and as such are a 'soft limiting cap'.
Btw. you've got me curious, what would you have considered a 'minimal viable product' for Shroud of the Avatar (since Crownfall isn't technically released yet) @Gamble ?
@esoba said in Seeing the stumbling releases lately like Crowfall and Shroud of the Avatar making me nervous:
Understandable, and there is risk. But I'm fond of saying that if you want innovation you gotta take chances. That goes for designers as well as the people funding them.
Nailed it!
@prometheus said in Mega Update - Cheaper Packs, Pre-Alpha Keys & More:
(...)since you'll want to re-assign your talents frequently and you'll often end up having to give up that +2 in favor of other bonuses(...)
I guess I misunderstood the spotlight. I was under the assumption that once unlocked, the bonus would be persistent. What you're describing seems to suggest that only the actively selected talents grant that attribute bonus, is that correct?
Could you explain how you define 'competitive from day 1' in relation to 'powerful boost' to various key elements of combat (damage, evasion, mana and health regeneration, accuracy and luck)? It seems mutually exclusive to me, since in a MOBA you can either have a significant/powerful boost, or be competitive right from the beginning, but not both. What am I missing here @Prometheus?
As for your questions, I've not had an issue with price to benefit ratio before and the price adjustments have not changed my m ind on the pack I'm aiming for.

Is the Foundation going to pull data once it's back to update progress?
@althalus said in Night/Day events:
(...)people who only get time to play in the night cycle would riot...
Do you think people need access to every NPC daily, or would it be fine if people only had access every other play-session (Chronicles of Elyria handles this problem through day/night cycles that don't fit into an earth day, hence everybody has access to night shifts and day shifts every so often during their common time-frames).
I've been away for two days, did I miss Prometeus giving his explanation? If so, anybody got as link?
@althalus said in Night/Day events:
(...)I doubt its possible do that with every npc in an mmorpg(...)
Do you consider it to be overly resource intense upkeep wise (too taxing on the server), or implementation wise (too much manpower required to implement)?
@jetah said in VIP system : What do you think ?:
(...)good thing kickstarter allows us to upgrade tiers and remove backing.
Only if the tier you're looking for is still available. Since I am aiming for an early bird tier, that is unlikely and hence I'd feel the need to go in low and stay in low unless convinced that VIP wouldn't be pay to gain an advantage right from the beginning.
@kralith said in VIP system : What do you think ?:
(...)And all this things will get discussed, when Prometheus has the time to clear up, as he mentioned, they are busy with preparing the kickstarter, they have dates to fullfill(...)
Most certainly, which is part of the reason I decided to make a short post with some quick points instead of a long post. That said, as you mentioned, the Kickstarter is coming rather close (5 workdays left) and the VIP service is going to be a main deciding factor in how much I'm going to pledge (since I am aiming at an early bird tier, I have to act on the first hours of the Kickstarter, because if early bird tiers are available to the end of the Kickstarter, it likely enough failed). Hence I provided a few points I hope Prometheus is going to include in his response, else time is going to be too short to ask for clarification before I have to decide.
Interesting heated discussion.
I could write up a long posting, but decided against it and just mention a few quick points.
If VIP is supposed to be a long term monetary support for the company (after the initial purchase), it would have to be a long term effect, else people would 'cancel it', hence defeating the 'but people are going to cap out fast anyway' response.
Another noteworthy point would be, that some people plan to play with different play-styles (different planets), so a short term advantage is still an advantage on a PvP planet, since you can't decide when you enter a fight (after reaching a 'cap') to these.
Last, but not least, nobody seems to ever mention the influence of knowledge on attribute gain and I wonder if people forget that, simply are unaware of that, or don't care for some strange reason.
@prometheus said in Kickstarter Update - Pledge Packs:
(...)why it absolutely doesn't affect the "competitive power"(...)
When explaining that, could you please elaborate (include) how the bonus effect on attributes won't play a role there? As far as I understood, you gain these trough talents, which you'd gain (faster) through being VIP?
'Most bonuses given by an attribute grow exponentially with the score of the attribute – that is, points allocated from 20 to 25 are far more effective than points allocated from, say, 10 to 15(...)'
'Furthermore, reaching a Natural Score of 20 with each attribute grants an additional unique bonus to the character(...)'
'(...)powerful boost to melee damage'
'(...)powerful boost to evasion ratings'
'(...)significant boost to Mana regeneration'
'(...)slowly regenerate Life over time without external intervention'
'(...)significant boost to its accuracy rating'
'(...)significant boost to its luck'
Thank you in advance!
@kellewic said in Kickstarter Update - Pledge Packs:
(...)By this logic buying into alpha/beta is p2w since you gain game experience before others(...)
Which is a mute point, since the lowest package already grants you beta 2 access, so by the time the game starts you could in theory have gained all 'player knowledge' you need. VIP gains are a completely different beast though.
Yes, I think prices are fair.
I am looking for either an early bird recruit, early bird founder, or early bird patron. I have not finalized my decision yet.
I don't think anything is missing and I have no preference on the inclusion of Foundation points.
I strongly dislike the VIP service and the carpenter. I know you do not consider them pay to win, but that is what they boil down to in the end. You mentioned yourself in your Q&A that a person with one build could dominate a person with a different (counter) build of same player skill. So having access to these builds can make or break a fight for somebody. The VIP service/carpenter - pay to win issue together with the 'large PvE only areas' make me want to pledge less, but your investment and willingness to answer people make me want to pledge more. I'm torn.
