ok i go with you in most of the points (nearly all there)

if you wipe in the alpha you force the testers through the early content again and again
this can be exactly what they want (i.e. character creation, gettings knowlegde and skills, the rudimental mechanics)
if you dont wipe in the later alpha/ or beta you get the testers to the lategame content so you cant test this too

so i think you need to do it in coordination to the results and the status of development of fractured

to sum it up
everything as pors and cons^^

of course you cant let a wipe happen after release, therefore you have backups (and im sure you know that )

and how they should wipe the data in the alpha and beta is up to the dev dependend on what they want to achieve with them

i personally think its usefull to wipe in every alpha phase, but not the beta phases (or at least not all beta phases)
but for the release everything sould be cleanly wiped

we are testers and not players who can play earlier

it would be to unfair

but maybe the characters will stay and only everything achieved will be lost, so you have a litlle thanks in form of name reservation
