@GamerSeuss Considering that Fractured is an MMORPG, the entire game is essentially a social construct, and while solo play is technically possible, well, was, and might be again if they re-introduce single land plots, it would not allow a complete game experience, as the higher technology equipment will only be available in cities, speaking of which, if only syndesian cities will have a tech tree, how will alloys and higher technologies work on the other worlds? Assuming then that any play style involving advanced technologies requires interaction with other players, which a solo player couldn't avoid anyway, and assuming that anything multiple players can do will generally be done by guilds, my suggestion is that there be game mechanics to facilitate guild activity. I agree that guild membership should not be required to play any aspect of the game, but guilds will be the main framework of all social aspects, ie: most of the game, so if you want to solo play, but also want the best equipment, you will need to work with guilds, even if only buying and selling. Guilds do provide their own benefits, but it would both easier and more immersive if there were mechanics to use; yes, you could just give money to a guild member, or you could give him a position that generates income. Yes you could give your guild members free/cheaper equipment, or you could have an armoury/guild rates at markets. And so on.

@Yitra sorry, still not seeing anything about hostile zones on Arboreus, it mentions areas that can't have PvP, but I didn't see anything about PvP specific areas, can you find me a quote? P.S how do you do that thing with the little quote at the end of your posts and the link to your guild?

They changed the respawn from the Tavern to the Shrine I think. As most towns don't have a shrine, your pretty much stuck going back to your starter town or your plot

On reflection, I must thank you @Nekrage, and apologise once again. While I still think that The OranThul goes about PvP too aggressively, and that you bear some responsibility, as guild master, for the actions of your members, and I suggest that you might find people are more like to take you at your word and not write "salty threads" if your guild members actions are more in line with your own, I am indebted to you for helping me realise that a players actions are what others will remember about them, and not their alignment or associates. which brings me to a point that I will address in a separate post because it deserves its own title https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/14097/in-communicado I do hope that this is received in the spirit it is intended; I don't want to be a wet blanket or a prude, and I do sincerely thank you, you have greatly helped me to 'grow as a person' as they say but I don't want anyone to think I condone what I do not, which, again, I will address elsewhere. I'll try not to tag you in anymore posts

@Bansidhe sorry, only just saw this in passing The name has reverted to Mythopoeia, here's my most recent 'lore' https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/14726/mythopoeia?_=1644144120359 And the guild page https://fracturedmmo.com/guild-profile/id/4176/ You may like to know, you are the first to show interest, and I'm sorry I didn't catch you earlier The guild concept is largely based on the poem 'Mythopoeia" by J.R.R.Tolkien; those lines specifically I hope to hear from you

@SuperMickyJay ok, i had forgotten that. that is still a complete respec, and not a realistic progressive character change, but oh well.

@Biglulu I was thinking the exact same thing. A 10 second timer, where if they either attack a player, or get attacked by a player they have attacked, it resets, even inside city limits.

Killing at random is an evil act, so not neutral. As a master in D&D i a C/N character should start killing anything at random I would move it to C/E, because that's not neutrality.

I have, this test, encountered two players who asked about a friends list, namely, a way to communicate in-game with other players not of their guild, party or current location. and, considering parties are disbanded when all members log off, this would also be a 'trans-play' communication system. If only someone had thought to suggest such a thing before. Oh, wait https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/13723/non-forum-players/13?_=1617693741931

I can't be certain I didn't just make more than I thought I did, but I am fairly sure that what happened was that I put ten metal components into a chest, logged off, logged in with another character, took them out and used them. Then, when I logged in as the first character again, they still had ten metal components in their inventory, which I could (and did) still use. Anyone else?

They already talked about other wagon options and decided it was a no-go, don't remember why, but that was like 2 tests ago. Originally, campfires actually did what fireplaces do and fully refreshed people, and it was decided by the developers that they didn't want any kind of full mobile refresh station, so I doubt they will bring in any kind of mobile outpost system. As for wagons carrying lighter items, like with an attached chest, that was discussed, but don't remember if we ever got a real verdict on that one.

I guess I'm more used to singleplayer RPG's, and guilds composed of NPC's, but i've always liked the idea, and I believe it is closer to the traditional concept of a guild, than to modern MMORPG guilds, that is; guilds that have headquarters all over the country/world, members are welcome in any hall, no matter where, simply because they are a guild-fellow. You don't need to know them, you don't need to be friends with them; they are a member of the guild, that's enough. I have actually (thanks to the new city claiming system ) been thinking of doing exactly this; a guild whose members are spread across the three worlds, who dwell in every city, are members of every race, united under one banner. A guild without a home, no city shares their name, but members aid each other when in need, no matter race or allignment.

@GamerSeuss ah, I see. Is there really any need to keep it secret though? personally I only see that not knowing means you run past a character and don't realise it's someone you know. I suppose sometimes you want to have a character that no one knows is you, maybe you could choose to have username show or not when you make a character? It could also add an aspect to the criminal system.

This is done on purpose, so actively inviting a member into a guild/party, etc requires the characters meet face to face in game with a Guild Leader/Officer or Party Leader/Officer. You can soft recruit outside of the game, but that initial meeting in-game is required to join.

Blessed are the timid hearts that evil hate, that quail in its shadow, and yet shut the gate; that seek no parley, and in guarded room, through small and bare, upon a clumsy loom weave rissues gilded by the far-off day hoped and believed in under Shadow's sway. Blessed are the men of Noah's race that build their little arks, though frail and poorly filled, and steer through winds contrary towards a wraith, a rumour of a harbour guessed by faith. Blessed are the legend-makers with their rhyme of things nor found within record time. It is not they that have forgot the Night, or bid us flee to organised delight, in lotus-isles of economic bliss forswearing souls to gain a Circe-kiss (and counterfeit at that, machine-produced, bogus seduction of the twice-seduced). Such isles they saw afar, and ones more fair, and those that hear them yet may yet beware. They have seen Death and ultimate defeat, and yet they would not in despair retreat, but oft to victory have turned the lyre and kindled hearts with legendary fire, illuminating Now and dark Hath-been with light of suns as yet by no man seen. I would that I might with the minstrels sing and stir the unseen with a throbbing string. I would be with the mariners of the deep that cut their slender planks on mountains steep and voyage upon a vague and wandering quest, for some have passed beyond the fabled West. I would with the beleaguered fools be told, that keep an inner fastness where their gold, impure and scanty, yet they loyally bring to mint in image blurred of distant king, or in fantastic banners weave the sheen heraldic emblems of a lord unseen. Nokes Folly welcomes all, and members of different focuses, values or style would give it the simple 'Ness' that Real Life often has when people who differ in many ways come together over a certain point. That being said, I do have a certain 'Style' of person in mind; those that don't need to be in the best PvP guild, the best PvE guild, the most numerous guild or the wealthiest guild. Those that want to do what they want to do the way they want to do it, but want to do it with other people, sometimes, or all the time. Those that fight and win and those that suck at combat or just don't want to fight, even if it is just a game, and how many other RPG's actually allow you to do that? (still not easy, but Fractured is pretty close) Those that hate to see player killers have free reign, but don't want to do what they do. Those who would see an innocent assailed by evil, and cheerfully stick their foot out to trip that evil, and smile as it turns it's attention on them, their own hands empty, no spell on their tongue to defend themselves. To this end, Nokes Folly welcomes the fearful, the cowardly, the defenceless. The unskilled, the unlucky, the average, the ordinary. The Knight, the Wizard, the Hunter Those who seek shelter, and those who wish to defend them. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Blessed are the timid hearts that evil hate, that quail in its shadow, and yet shut the gate; that seek no parley, and in guarded room, through small and bare, upon a clumsy loom weave rissues gilded by the far-off day hoped and believed in under Shadow's sway.
