@sharo I definitely agree. Just some kind of difference. Obviously weapons need to have something to give them a reason to be obtained. No one will waste their time getting something if there is no benefit. That's why I said having cash shop can detract from this.

RE: World domination 😈 or world protector 😇
World protection through domination. I don't want to protect the world, but I want to dominate those that attempt to destroy it.

RE: Legendary weapons
I think a big thing here is the power creep that you normally see in other games and MMOs. I think in order to combat this and to keep things very balanced you just have to use small numbers.
If you have two different armors and the numbers are 4 and 8 to a certain stat or modifier, then the difference is not really that staggering between a veteran player that has the maximum +8, but it was hard to obtain and totally worthwhile in the longrun. Though there is very little actually effect and the player with the +4 because they just started will feel like they are adequate but still have some room to grow.
When you get to the difference between 4000 and 8000, now there seems to be a huge game and this can cause some problems. Though I think this is fine as long as the actually ratios are kept in check.

RE: Hola from AO
Hey, Welcome to the forums! I am hoping for the same things. While Albion did do some things that I absolutely appreciated, there was also some things that I just couldn't get over after playing a few times during beta.

RE: "Capture The Flag" GvG contest in Open World
What about something like albions chest and castle spawns that were supposed to make huge battles between guilds.
'
I think something like this could be procedural generated at different coordinates and on different planets and give some kind of home town advantage to one race but still allow other people to contest it. It could have multiple guilds chasing after it and also allow people to benefit from knowing the map and locations. This would allow for CTF type material while also keeping it consistently fresh for the player base and allow for people with lots of experience to really influence the way the battle goes.

RE: This looks like what Diablo III should've been.
I don't know if we can really predict what diablo 3 should have been and I hope this isn't really like a diablo 3. Though if diablo 2 was an MMO I think that is really what I would have liked. Though I don't really need the loot explosions on mobs, I think it can be balanced between having A-RPG aspects but not the geary grind that is just end game of ARPGs.

RE: How similar to Albion Online?
I can't stand games that end up where they are not enough players to seem like a world that is living and breathing. I remember in the early days of some MMOS you would occasionally run into people that were PVPing. They normally wouldn't be greifing young players cause there was really no point. I got through it and go to the end of the game, but it wasen't so prevalent as is when there are some new games. I think the proper balance and reasoning and guildes to keep people from doing it not because of some kind of restriction but because of a reason. I think this games reason is because of the planets it will keep most people away.

RE: Question about being a game tester
@nelchael I absolutely support this. While part of the testing should be about how the character progresses and the overall balance of the game, when there are 100,000 people (exaggeration) the balance may be off or stuff will be found that was not found in testing. It would definitely reduce the burden on the players, I agree with MMO alphas and betas it can be very taxing to play the game a ton only to have to do it over and over again and while the finished product might be quite different from the testing, it just somehow seems reduced in quality due to the repetitiveness.

RE: What We Know About Weapons
I want every kind of sword possible. All shapes and sizes!
-
RE: Thoughts On Arenas
@nelchael I very much like the idea of holding a tournament. It could bring people together... Or it could allow a sneaky guild to crafty and destroy another city. Do you have enough defences to secure your city during a tournament? Infiltration and sneaky.

RE: What unusual weapon types would you like to see?
Totally out of left field but a horn of a beastman, a tooth or some kind of weapon based off the parts of the human, devil or beastman would be super cool

RE: Quick noob question
not gonna lie. I high level metamorph skill would be dope.

Inscription / Fortuning skill - Knowledge
I think it would be pretty neat with the way that this game works to have either a place of knowledge in inscription or a way for information to be passed down. This way you could help and be a benefit to other people. Not necessarily in every aspect of the game but there could be some ways to give information to other players.
There could be interesting ways to give limitations to the system, including having very hard to gather materials, super high knowledge levels in other ways and/or unique items that allow the passing of information from one player to another.
Another way this could be implemented is that we may not know, find out how to learn a skill because of the ubiquity of gaining skills and knowledge but there may be a way that we could inscribe or create items that give us a glimpse into why we learned an ability. Again, there should be huge limitations on this and in this case I would like to see it having many different parts in order to accomplish. Each of these parts should be extremely difficult to get. Though, for a guild this could be very convenient. I'm thinking this could be good for alts. It could be for information selling
Example: A skill requires you to complete 5 ambiguous requirements and you can forge an item through these skills to shed light on one of the parts. These should be highly sought after and a guild would find, make and horde the information because this is the part of the game that brings uncertainty.
I would even go as far as saying you could get the same one over and over again so that it is not guaranteed that you will get any information at all. Just another aspect to make people progress and enjoy the game and get better.
This could be like Fortuning or inscription.

RE: Biomes and Expanding the universe
@jetah I wouldn't mind the professions giving rise to different things that accent the gear and items in the game.
