@boogis Had a good point related to unique resources and different biomes. It will be important to place biomes on the map from economy point of view. Creating local micro economies is something what sandbox games really need. It will only encourage players to explore and create trade routes if different towns and areas lacks of different resources. That way some people can make their living as merchants buying and selling goods in diffrent locations. Albion Online has 5 biomes and 5 resource system. They have mountain, forest, swamp, Steppes and Highlands. Every biome has three different resources, one primary, one secondary and one lesser. Albion had a lot of problems to find balance between biomes and resources, which is one reason why we saw lots of different map designs in Beta. Unfortunately they did not manage to get good enough map for launch either and there is still too easy access to all resources, and local economy differences are quite small because of that. Only dropping 3 resources / biome to 2 would have a huge impact to local economies and would encourage people to travel more. So why I am telling this? I hope DS will take count this and does not make the same mistake and make too easy access to all resouces. I know different planets will have unique resources, but its also important make some local differencies inside planets and maybe even inside continents.

@mrchipps I played WoW during the Wrath expansion and while leveling the forced group content was great. however, after that expansion the forced group content in wrath became a burden. i know Fractured won't have leveling but it would suck to stop progression because you need a group at a certain point in a dungeon or world boss. i don't see how an open world pvp game with full loot can support solo play.

We don't know all the skills, perhaps one magic school that is based around support and healing will have a spell that gives you a boon that makes the next spell cast instant (designed to do a big instant heal for that school). But you can also use that boon to instant cast a powerful attack aka Pyroblast that usually takes a few seconds to cast, but with that boon, you can cast it instantly. Impossible to predict what people come up with.

I think it would be pretty neat with the way that this game works to have either a place of knowledge in inscription or a way for information to be passed down. This way you could help and be a benefit to other people. Not necessarily in every aspect of the game but there could be some ways to give information to other players. There could be interesting ways to give limitations to the system, including having very hard to gather materials, super high knowledge levels in other ways and/or unique items that allow the passing of information from one player to another. Another way this could be implemented is that we may not know, find out how to learn a skill because of the ubiquity of gaining skills and knowledge but there may be a way that we could inscribe or create items that give us a glimpse into why we learned an ability. Again, there should be huge limitations on this and in this case I would like to see it having many different parts in order to accomplish. Each of these parts should be extremely difficult to get. Though, for a guild this could be very convenient. I'm thinking this could be good for alts. It could be for information selling Example: A skill requires you to complete 5 ambiguous requirements and you can forge an item through these skills to shed light on one of the parts. These should be highly sought after and a guild would find, make and horde the information because this is the part of the game that brings uncertainty. I would even go as far as saying you could get the same one over and over again so that it is not guaranteed that you will get any information at all. Just another aspect to make people progress and enjoy the game and get better. This could be like Fortuning or inscription.

@jetah I wouldn't mind the professions giving rise to different things that accent the gear and items in the game.

I definitely agree, hand-holding or over-simplification would be a major buzz kill!
