I dont see how the current cities mechanic is any more broken than adding all resources to all cities.

Right. That would be bad too.

Players should have to leave the safety of their cities to obtain resources.

@vedran625 said in The City Monopoly Meta:

The big guilds would still aim to capture as much territory as possible since the resources are tied to the ownership of cities.

      Yup. That's why it's a bad idea.

@vedran625 said in The City Monopoly Meta:

I doubt you are going to be holding so many cities so easily on a 100% pvp enabled realm because ppl will just stroll into the city (or if that is safe the mining area) and rick roll you since you cant be everywhere at once.

Sieges are scheduled content. Not "do as you please". This will not be an issue.

I have a feeling my city suggestion may have gone unread. Will repost here.

"My Suggestion: Completely revamp the resource system. Remove the resource allocated to cities design. Have resource hotspots such as quarries that players would fight and compete for. Fertile Grounds could be removed completely and a slight increase to all farming yields could be applied.

The entire city system should be adjusted so players WANT to focus on one city and attempt to level it to the max rank. I believe as the city ranks increase the available land allocated to the city should also increase. This way massive cities begin to form on the continents truly allowing cities to differentiate themselves from other cities. Bonuses could be applied to reduce the amount of resources needed for some crafts rather than increase the amount of resources players obtain."

@Kralith Absolutely. There are 1000 more important things than animations.

Just wanted to get this feedback submitted before it slipped my mind.

      That's really nitpicking.. lol

It's not that BAD. I'd call it imperfect.

Can't say I agree. It stands out like a sore thumb when compared to the other animations.

First part is the show of game creator intents, ideas and concept, where all seems perfect

Completely disagree. The design is broken.

@Meziljin said in The City Monopoly Meta:

Second part is the shit storm of people behavior trying to find mechanic holes, glitchs, bugs, which will compromise the game core

Right. That's why we have the shit storm of "monopolize every city possible because it's more beneficial to us/me".

People that break and exploit mechanics in alphas and betas AND REPORT IT SO IT CAN BE FIXED are needed. That's what I'm doing here.

@Meziljin said in The City Monopoly Meta:

Third part is the mediation, wherever game designer and customers find a way to co-exist.

      What?

@Meziljin said in The City Monopoly Meta:

I think they got the problem, now they have to meditate on even with our suggestions and show up in future their fix option.

      What?

Was going to report this myself, beat me too it.
When a necklace is worn no increase is see on the stats display.
      Possible display bug.

I can confirm it's not a display bug. No damage increase from the melee damage necklace.

This is easily testable with "Relentless Style" since you always hit for the same number when using it.

    • Halberd Animation is BAD.

Just pointing out that the Halberd animation has this clippy transition.

      https://clips.twitch.tv/SoftPluckyGiraffeNotLikeThis

The audio seems to be way off for all weapons too.

but massive guilds creating sister guilds to circumvent and take advantage of a flawed system should be shameful

      It will still be done.

I could argue that claiming multiple cities for a single guild "should be shameful"

Still being done. Still an issue.

The game needs to be DESIGNED around players utilizing and benefitting THE MOST from a single, upgraded city. If this change is not implemented then Fractured is dead on release.

None of the state increases from necklaces work.

      No melee damage.

If i'm not wrong the numbers to raise a city are really lower than expected. I suppose numbers will raise greatly (maybe 50 instead 20 to a large city and 20 instead 5 to small city)

Personally i would like to remove guilds from game, transforming them simply in citizen of each city (when u join a city, u join a group as citizen, with own chat working for all citizen of that city.

This should even allow to not be excluded by cityi management for those who are guildless and join a city where guilds keep control and decisions, avoiding the emargination of someone (like me 😞 )

i doubt will exists guilds with more than 50 members or to be more realistic 100 players who control 2 big cities. maybe 2 small, or at worst 1 big and 1 small. But with my system they are forced to not be in same "guild" so everyone will work for his "home"

I would be limiting my city to guild members only in this case. Guilds would still exist.

The issue is not guilds, it's the city monopoly.

@Blectorn Ya. In the last alpha intellect obtained from anywhere other than the character attribute allocation did not add to memory. I thought that was intentional because of this exact issue.

Hey dad @Prometheus can we keep this one? Sounds more like a feature than a bug to me.

Lol! While it is fun I could see it causing a bit of an issue in PvP as players will certainly escape more often with this in place.

If you double tap A and begin running you will still be able to mount without and interruption.

Seems to be a bug since the double tap A is required to pull it off.

    • [FRAC-2263] Memory Points Bug

If you allocate points to intellect in the talent tree or gain intellect through other means such as an enchant, you gain memory points.

You can then memorize abilities using these memory points.

Removing the intellect enchants and talents then brings you below the required memory points yet you still have the abilities memorized.

Example: https://i.imgur.com/lJ9EYCz.jpg - Notice the 26 memory points equipped out of 25.

Sure, but i dont think removing city resource plots will help small guilds and casuals.
This will only force us to be allies (vassals) with big guilds.

      I understand your concern 100%.

That's why I believe there should be different gathering options.

      1. A heavily PvE contested area where 2-5 players(or more if you want) can work together to clear into the quarry like area, mine the resources, then carry it out. This could be an area that triggers respawns of PvE enemies when players are nearby, making it a bit of a "gauntlet" to get in an out.

      2. A heavily PvP contested area that may still have some PvE enemies(less than the first option). This could be something smaller groups may have trouble with but I argue that bringing a stealth crew in to jump a group that is fighting other players or PvE enemies can turn the tides real quick.

@Vollmond Nothing wrong with being more casual or less into PvP.

Fractured supports different playstyles and even different PvP playstyles such as full loot and non-full loot.

HOWEVER when we get down to progression we NEED to have a game that is designed against multi-boxing and spamming cities as a method to progress.

I know the RP'ers will actually back me on this when I say building a CAPITAL having having a reason to focus and prosper in that city is more appealing than spamming rank 1 cities all over the map.

The painful truth is: small guilds will just go for pve world and this is the usual death of pvp centric games (only hardcore pvpers will stay on hardcore pvp setups). We know the chorus, its not the first time.

Can't say I agree with your response. As ALL players must enter the realm of PvP if they wish to progress as far as possible. Even the Beastman planet will have 50%+ of it as PvP enabled areas.

Stifling competitive PvP in a game that is advertised to support it is the death of the game. As I called this previously in my post in August, I am calling it here and now. If this does not change this will be the death of Fractured. We know the chorus, it's not the first time.

This is where having a Very Helpful Demon comes in handy! Seeing the exploit in advance & warning about the possible uses of that exploit instead of just... EXPLOITING. Kinda angelic, actually....

Once again, @Nekrage, I'm forced to wonder whether you're pretending to be a demon when you're actually an angel doing cosplay. 🤔 😉 💞

    • Resource Gather / Burn Rate is WAY OFF.

Currently burning resources via smelting is incredibly disproportionate to the rate that you obtain them.

I'm all for slow progression rates but this is gruelingly slow.

We are sitting in HUNDREDS of iron and have been smelting 24/7 with 3 blacksmiths.

Having excess is great for trading but lets be real, that's another problem. The Market Place is near useless since everyone is interested in trading resource for resource rather than gold. In addition there is no option to search the map for active buy and sell requests which I believe should be added to the Market.
