      @finland

      Aggressive and Thief aren't the same thing.

      The Thief flag means you stole from someone, and it forces you to be Evil or Neutral. Nothing more.

      Aggressive means you attacked someone, and it's similar to being Evil.

      If you steal from someone without attacking them, you're flagged as Thief, not Aggressive. On the other hand, if you attack a Neutral player, you will be flagged as Aggressive.

      Finding a knocked out player and taking his things isn't as bad as murdering someone and taking his things. If all crimes are equally bad, that'll just create an unfair system. Stealing is bad, but murder is worse. Therefore, there should be a smaller penalty for being a Thief than a Murderer. That's why if you're a Murderer, you're forced to be Evil, and if you're a Thief, you're forced to be Neutral. And you can't kill Neutral players without a penalty. It' that simple.

      To put it in simple terms: a Good person is someone like Batman, who doesn't kill thieves. Someone who kills thieves is like Punisher, and that guy is Neutral at best.

      A thief is someone who steals items. He hasn't attacked anyone. If you murder him for being a thief, there should absolutely be consequences. Being flagged as Aggressive for doing so is definitely fair, and doesn't need fixing.

      if you just want to murder anyone you want, even if they're not flagged as Evil or Aggressive, maybe you should try being Evil yourself. Good people don't murder thieves without consequences.

      That's your opinion, but it's not how it works. If a player is Neutral and you attack him, there are penalties. Doesn't matter if he's a thief or not.

    • RE: about flag

      Basically, thieves are forced to play as Neutral or Evil characters.

      Thief. You get this when stealing from a Good or Neutral player. It lasts for 24 real-world hours, and prevents you from choosing a Good Alignment.

      If a thief chooses to be neutral, you can kill him, but you'll be flagged as Aggressive.

      Hurting a Good or Neutral player doesn’t turn your Alignment to Evil, but flags you as Aggressive – a condition that gets you treated as Evil in many ways. For instance, Good players become able to hurt you, while other Neutral players become able to do so as well without consequences.

      If he for some reason chooses to be evil, you can kill him without any penalties.

      While Evil, you’re free to perform hostile actions against any other player – just like when you’re Neutral. However, other players can also do so against you, without consequences – such as being flagged as Thief or Murderer or losing Karma. In fact, they will gain Karma by getting the world rid of you!

      So basically, if you see an evil thief, you can kill him with no consequences. If you see a neutral one, you can kill him, but you'll be flagged as Aggressive. If you want to kill someone who isn't a Murderer and isn't Evil, there will be consequences.

      The news articles and FAQ explain it best. You should try them.

      There will be recipes, and they'll most likely last forever. There won't be different kinds of item quality, since all equipment is equal in Fractured.

      @bowjob

      You can't pay for the game. You can't download the game. You can't play the game. Not yet.

      Wait for the Kickstarter. It comes out in June. Then you can buy it.

      (I really hope this is a troll.)

      When a guild attacks another guild's city, they can destroy their buildings. Otherwise the buildings are protected. We should get more information about this soon, according to what Prometheus said.

      Buildings owned by players are protected in general, unless we're talking of city conquests - but that's a whole different story we'll cover in the Feature Spotlight after the next one.

    • RE: Race specific activities?

      @kralith

      Beastmen can already do that, it's called their primal form.

      they can morph at will into their animal counterpart – a choice that comes with consequences, the main one usually being their enemies getting eaten soon after.

      When transformed into their primal form, the tiger, the Chadra enjoy an even higher movement speed and attack precision. Plus, they gain access to unique abilities aimed at catching up with fleeing targets and hitting their vital spots, causing severe wounds that lead victims to quickly bleed to their deaths.

      When transformed into their primal form, the wolf, the Udoadra gain speed and additional pack bonuses, unlocking abilities designed to empower allies and to cooperatively damage or restrain even the most powerful opponents.

      And so on for the other families.

      Most likely yes. The limit will be pretty large, seeing as the three planets are supposed to be huge. And of course, as guilds fall apart and become inactive, their cities can be taken over by a stronger guild. I'm expecting there will always be guilds that stop being active and maintaining their city, so there will be many chances for new guilds to take over one of these.

    • RE: How does Fractured compare to Albion online?

      The core concept of Fractured is the dynamic interaction between the three very different races, as well as the detailed Knowledge system. As far as I know, Albion didn't have anything similar to these. I might be wrong, I never really followed Albion. It seemed kind of cringy to me for some reason.

      As far as I know, there will be just one server, and they're not planning to reset it (except after alpha/beta testing of course).

      @twentyonebones

      NPCs will play a big role in Fractured - guilds will be able to attract them to their villages / towns, where they can settle and start their own businesses. They'll have proper names, be more or less skilled in different activities and - to an extent - have different personalities.

      There will surely be opportunities to hire players for these things as well.

      About buildings in cities, there's still a lot we don't know, but it will be a lot like building your own village. According to Prometheus:

      The layout of every city is definitely going to look unique, there is no pre-determined way you (and your guild) will have to follow to place buildings and roads!

      And

      Rulers will be able to define layouts and rules for the healthy development of a town.

      For sure. That's why traders will need bodyguards to guard their caravans.

      @muker

      If you want want to ask a question, you have to read the FAQ first. That's why we have a FAQ thread. If you're too lazy to check before spamming the forum, you should lose points. That's my opinion.

      Same way it works in real life. With trade routes, localised supply/demand, that kind of thing. It's a lot more interesting than just having a magical auction house that lets you buy and sell from everyone in the server.

      I kind of wish moderators could take foundation points away from people who ask about things that are in the FAQ. There'd be a lot less of these pointless threads then.
