      @firedorn Well did you ever think about making friend's with the demons? They have many things to offer πŸ˜‰

      Hey, you sound like exactly the kind of person I'm looking for in my guild. Are you taken yet?

      @rehmius

      A summary of what we know about gods is available in this thread.

      Time to join the ad spam: for demons of all alignments who are planning to focus on crafting, gathering, and especially trading, Ars Goetia [ARGO] is your best choice (English only).

      Just to avoid confusion later on, you can't really choose a class, since there are no classes in Fractured.

      I'll probably go for a chaotic neutral demonic spellsword-kind of guy, most likely with Galvanos as my best friend/deity of choice. (He's shy about it, but we're really besties. Promise.)

      I kind of want this to be a thing now. Unlock Necromancy, kill a player, raise him as a zombie, ride him into battle.

      I bet demons would brag in pubs about who has the best zombie carebear mount.

      Fractured features both cosmetic pets and ones that actually fight - but it's two separate things. The former are store perks (or anyway rewards, such as those in The Foundation), they just follow you and can't be harmed. The latter are obtained and trained in game - yes, you can train them too!

      Source here. One of the spotlights also mentions that how many pets you can have with you at once is determined by your charisma.

      I wonder, if I max out my charisma, will I be able to tame and ride an abomination into battle? This has so much potential.

      @finland said in Classe / race:

      There is nothing compared to passive racials or classes

      From the Three Races spotlight:

      Thanks to their innate affinity with fire, they can easily use any fire-related ability and are able to survive in extremely warm environments.
      As further bonus to their battle prowess, their racial bonuses get stronger over the course of a tough battle, setting the thick veins that run through the skin of their bodies afire.

      It literally calls them racial bonuses. So yes, no classes, but races will certainly have various passive bonuses.

      All gear is equal overall, but some is more suited to certain situations. Victory depends on picking the right gear for the situation as well as your skill as a player. However, there won't be any gear that is strictly better than others. It's all very situational.

      There are three races (Beastmen, Humans, and Demons) and no classes. Read here for details about this game's classless system.

      @finland

      Then it's still not PvP, since there wouldn't be any real fighting at any point. To fight, you need an attacking team and a defending team. With no defending team, it's just attackers spending five minutes to get the buff and move on, only for attackers from the other team to get it back in five minutes. Which is possible, sure, it just seems mind-numbingly boring to me to have a series of completely one-sided battles. There'd be no risk for the attackers at all unless they stub their toes on the way there.

      @gothix

      It would definitely force guildmates against each other, true. That sounds like an interesting thing to see actually, but it might be irritating for the players in some cases, and some would for sure decide to just follow the same god to make things simpler.

      For those reasons, I'm personally all for making this GvG, but if the third option is Good vs Evil, I'd accept Religion vs Religion as a compromise.

    • RE: Game Idea : Relic War (PVP) and other game mode

      From what I can see, there's two ways of making this work:

      • Putting the relics in a city, so that there will always be players there to defend them. Downside: this ties it to the guild system, which some people seem to dislike.
      • Making these temple fights available only at certain times, as @Zwiterion and @Gothix said, so that both attackers and defenders have equal time to prepare. Downside: time zone conflicts.

      What @Finland is suggesting,

      Shit i'm exploring the region XYZ o crap there are fighting for some shrines let's join the fight.

      wouldn't work in my opinion, because the defenders would have no idea when to rally. It would be too one-sided. The attackers could spend a week planning a massive raid with fifty people, and the defenders would only have whoever happens to be in the area at the time.

    • RE: Game Idea : Relic War (PVP) and other game mode

      @finland

      My point is, it's not PvP. There'd be no way to defend these things. You can go and get the buff, sure, but you can't defend it when it's under attack. It wouldn't be two groups fighting each other, since there's no defensive group. They wouldn't know when to defend.

      @zwiterion

      That is actually plausible. There'd be an issue with time zones, since Fractured most likely won't have regional servers, but that's a relatively small deal. The exact hour could be randomised every time to make it fair, and announced a few days beforehand to make sure all players who want to participate can prepare.

      @finland

      "I have to go to that region to do something, let's get the buff. Oh look, they're trying to steal the artifact! I must defen-" aand you're dead. An organised offense would completely demolish a few people randomly standing around with no leadership and no idea what's happening.

      And why would you stay there? You don't know when the enemy will attack. It could be in an hour, it could be tomorrow. You'd just leave and go do your own things.

      @zwiterion

      Or they could break it and go home.

      It would have to be locked for at least an hour to let the defenders organise their troops and make a plan, and that just wouldn't be any fun for the attackers at all. Both sides should be able to enjoy these things.

      All weapons will be equal in a fight. Your skill as a player makes you powerful in this game, not your gear or your abilities.

      @finland

      Where would the people come from? Unlike a city, there's no reason for players to stand around a temple, so they wouldn't have enough time to form a defense. It would be a mess; an organised offensive party against a few people who happened to be in the area when it happened and don't really know what's going on. That's called being caught with your pants down, and it never ends well.

      @zwiterion

      That could work, although it would probably still end up being a PvE thing, since no one would stand around to defend a temple. Even if nearby players got an alert pop-up (something like "Your god is calling you to action! Defend the temple!"), a well-organised raid party could eliminate the NPC guards and take/destroy the artifact before a defense could be rallied.

      People forget that casual guilds exist too. I don't see why they shouldn't be involved in this. It's not like only the very top guilds will own cities. And yes, politics actually should influence everything in a game like this. Not so much that a single player would notice (since we're talking about insignificant buffs here) but enough to make factions and alliances matter. If this game boils down to "you're good, I'm good, therefore we must be allies", I will be very disappointed.

      In short, I'd rather have this as an expansion on the PvP sieges and guild system, than a mostly PvE thing that forces guilds that hate each other to cooperate simply because they identify as the same alignment. "This neighbouring guild has been our rival for months, we'd definitely wage war on each other if we could, but there's a relic near our border, so we have to cooperate in order to protect it from raids." "We're both chaotic evil guilds, and we'd definitely slaughter each other if we could, but you know how it is. Gotta make sure that evil artifact stays protected!" This would immediately turn a mature, serious world into a childish, Harry Potter-like story of "Good" versus "Evil".

      Which, again, would completely eliminate the PvP aspect. Nobody would ever guard these temples. And if two "good" guilds were at war, and a "good" relic was being attacked, they'd be forced by this mechanic to join up and try to protect the relic. It ruins the politics. Fractured would be a lot less fun if it was just another "good vs evil" game, where your guild doesn't matter as long as it has the correct alignment flag. That just makes it childish and boring.

      @finland

      Easy. Make it so that a guild can only have one or two of these, and make them easy enough to obtain with some group effort so that all serious guilds and plenty of casual ones will be able to obtain one without much difficulty.

      Putting them outside of cities would make it separate from siege system, but strategically, if you were a guild leader, where would you choose to store a powerful relic? In a city that's already heavily guarded, or in a temple that's in the middle of nowhere? Guarding these things would be a nightmare. No player would want to stand watch for hours near one of these, so at best they'd be guarded by NPCs. It would turn into another PvE thing. You'd be forcing the relic to be stored in the most vulnerable position just to make it separate from the siege system, which just feels to me like a bad case of metagaming.
