Then we have two viable options for gaining stat points that the Devs could possibly use. And I would be fine with either of those two. Though I would be totally against paying for adjustments or the ability to just respect everything (even with a months delay) , cause I think that takes away from the game and not add to it. Part of the challenge is working with what you have to obtain what you want.

By the way, my first 3 days was with a mage with 6 Str and 6 CON. .. She died a whole lot, but she was fun 🙂

hmmm.. so maybe they could add the ability to raise a stat through constant grinding of certain skills??? That would deal with your issue, as well as making it harder and time consuming to obtain and limit how much can actually be done in adjusting our stat sets?

Yes, I would be, and I think that's the point. This is a survival old school type game where everything is not just handed to you. I don't think we should ever be perfect. Like life, we will always have handicaps and we can't respect ourselves. Just train more.

Also... having to start a new character brings more life to the game and challenge.

That's actually exactly what I did this test run, I made characters as I learned the game. 1 after 3 days, another after another day, and another last night. And I've been playing about 18 hours a day since the stress test started. Still, once they add the ability to adjust your stats with more enchants, I think you can get what you want that way.

That would be one area for leveling that skill, the higher the skill level the more accurate the teleport.

      @Nekrage

Also, the only real attribute adjustment enchant they had in this game was luck. I am sure they will add the rest in later. With that said, if you want to adjust your attribute stats you will just need to load yourself down with enchants that increase those stats.

Or, just remake a new character. We do get the ability to make several alts just so we can get all the flavors once we "learn" what is out there.

As for buying respecs with money, I think they devs are trying not to make cash shops. And I would shiver if they did do that, cause that's just opening the door to P2W. No one will get character creation perfect on their first try. Its why we can make more characters and delete some if needed.

Just my two pennies worth of thought 🙂

Yes, from what I have been able to gather from reading they are wanting only an isometric view game. Which means the camera will always be at the same angle. Whether or not they will allow you rotate around at that same angle I do not know, but I would think not.

Another thing to take into consideration is combat. With a point and click, it will be very difficult to implement complex move and attack combos since both attack and movement are click based and entity mouse over selected. Not to mention controller supports and etc.

    • RE: SUGGESTIONS

I agree with your suggestions there. You covered quite a few of the ones I thought were needed as well as added some I think are quite logical that I just didnt deal with (ie. PVP). To add, I think they need to do some of the following as well:

      1. Remove Point and Click movement, or at the very least, add the ability to switch from point and click movement to Key press movement. Can't tell you the amount of times I found myself running out of the house cause I missed click on a chest by a millimeter and the system thought I was wanting to go outside. Or even worse, fighting in a forest with trees and clickables (corpses) everywhere that wanted attention when what I wanted to do was move. (Running through trees? ACK! horrible!)

      2. In expansion of your slash, pierce, bludgeoning aspect. I think they need to do with their materials what they did with their enchants. Have materials that give different amounts of slash, bludgeoning, and pierce damage (as well as magical) resistance which we can mix and match to get the numbers that we want. Meaning, instead of just choosing one type of material to craft with, we have several types. (ie. Instead of crafting with only Animal Leather, Warg Leather or Dire Wolf Leather, we can craft with a combination of those leathers and/or other materials along with leather for armor) This can reduce the weight of the item, the toughness of the item against certain damage types, etc. Have enchants do the major additions like adding non-armor related bonuses and have the material types used in crafting add the actual item related bonus)

      3. Increase the view span of the screen. Its a bit too narrow in my opinion.

      4. Have a skill that allows characters to see more within their mini map. (Ie. some that increases the distance of mobs to be shown or resources and types of resources available in the area. ) Always show party members and personal items such as carts and corpses but have learned tracking skills to also show other things.

      5. Reduce the number of "cook meat" portions of the cook tab and make it like the craft window where we select "cook meat" and then select the type of meat to be cooked. Otherwise, your cooking table is going to be outrageously long. You may even want to rethink your crafting GUI all together because it already getting long with just what little we have.

That's all that I think needs to be adjusted from what has been added already. I know they have a lot more planned from reading the news articles so will just have to see how they implement them before making more suggestions since those suggestions are possibly already covered.

My main drawback to the game so far however, is definitely the point click movement. I just don't see how you are going to be able to make the game flow smoothly with that implemented. It removes any quick reactions and any complex move and attack combos (specially for pvp)

I am completely torn when it comes to the pets.. I love the cats AND the foxes both! If I had to choose, I think I am going to have to just go with buying all of them ^_^

    • RE: 5-Day worth content

@Karlitoz I don't think they need to add grinding as much as replayable content. One of their whole philosophies for this game is to take away grinding. And you are correct, no matter how much content they add to the game, hard core gamers will flash through it. However, they have already put in a 16 hour wait period on "curing" leather, and I am sure they are going to do that in a few more areas as well to reduce people from having instant gratification and being able to stream roll through everything. They mainly just need to find ways to take people away from combat only areas and have them do other things, which I believe they have planned for and are implementing from their news articles of city government, farming, etc. Being a completely player based economy with no npcs in the game, means that the players themselves will be adding content to the game as long as the foundation has been layed for them to be able to do so. And I think, that is what they are planning on doing.

I seriously do not see how point and click could work. We have trees that occupy much of the screen at times that make it impossible to click on a mob that is beneath or behind the tree. So they end up hitting us while we run around trying to be able to get them clickable. Also, moving, its a pain trying to move at times only to have your mouse press hover over a clickable and stop you in your tracks. I strongly feel they need to switch from point and click movement to key press movement. Their strategy for everything else I believe will be fine once they finish implementing them.

I would highly recommend that they switch away from the point and click method of moving. That part just doesn't work well for a game like this, I believe, and tends to have a whole lot of problems like we are experiencing. As for the other parts of the original post here, I think most of that is just due to lack of implementation. I think they are headed in the proper direction on those areas, they just have not gotten around to putting in whats needed at this stage.

Yes, some of the housing seems to need tweeking. For example, I am not able to place anything next to a wall it has to be one grid space away, including the fence that is suppose to connect to the house. So basically I have walking space around the entire inner and outter walls of my home. Though I have seen homes built that have furniture next to the walls.
