      Hi everyone,

      It's been a while since we've closed the door of Alpha 1 - Test 2 and released the new store. August is always a complex month for us, torn between the preparation for Gamescom and the due summer holiday time.

      Nonetheless, a new update is here, including the much awaited roadmap to Alpha 2 - which is sadly going to suffer a little delay, but will be packed with new features and content!

    • Gamescom Here We Come - And You?

      Hi everyone,

      GamesCom 2019 is approaching! Me and the other two founders of Dynamight Studios (Andrea aka Uriel - Lead Designer and Michele aka Sunti - Art Director) are going to be there from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23!

      I guess a few of you will be there too. We'd be glad to meet up for a chat while we're not busy talking with some publisher and whatnot. If the presence of Fractured fans is substantial, we could organize a Fractured lunch/dinner!

      Moreover, we have a booth in the business area, part of the Italian Games stand (Hall 3.2, Stand D010 E019) from Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22! If any of you has purchased access to the business area because you're game devs yourselves, press, influencers... You should totally drop by to visit us - let's play Fractured together! πŸ˜‰

      So... just leave a post here if you'll be at GamesCom, and let's see how this goes!

    • Last Week For Pledge Packs

      A few weeks ago, we anticipated that July would be the last month for Kickstarter-replica pledge packs. Well, July’s endings, and it’s time for packs to say goodbye!

      On August 1, the Fractured store will be completely overhauled: Alpha 1 access, lifetime VIP and limited offers will be gone for good!

      Hi @keshanberk, it's pretty clear you're not fond of Dynamight, whatever the reason might be, but let me address your concerns anyway.

      Back when we made our first pre-alpha gameplay video (well over 1 year ago), we used a few art assets from the Unity store as placeholders. As of today, the only art assets I can think of that are taken from the asset store are the animals, since they're pretty well made and it's not particularly relevant to have a unique... rabbit, right? πŸ™‚ If one day we have resources to spare we'll remake them too.

      LOA is a spiritual successor to Ultima Online, which I sincerely hope will succeed since I loved Ultima Online πŸ˜‰ It has very little to do with Fractured though, besides the genre (isometric sandbox MMOs). Controls, combat, rulesets, races, world building, progression, survival elements... they're all very different, and that's just to name a few.

      I don't know whether we have more or less resources than LOA really. It's undoubtedly true we don't have the same resources of some larger competitors, but I'd say technology (SpatialOS), time spent developing tools such as procedural world generators and various game design decisions are allowing us to deliver - we're not perfectly on schedule, but we're close πŸ™‚

      Where did you get this information from exactly? πŸ˜„ There are ways to prevent that from happening, it's not even particularly hard. You can watch any Fractured gameplay videos on Twitch or YouTube, everything besides terrains is dynamically loaded / streamed around your character but you won't see any lag when people travel through our current 60km2 continent πŸ™‚

      All good things must come to an end... and so do the Kickstarter-replica Pledge Packs currently available in the Fractured Store.

      You've asked this question frequently, now the answer is official: pledge packs are going to be removed from the store at the end of the next Alpha test. This means they're going to be available for approximately 1 month longer (mid July), then they'll be gone for good!

      Hi @deusex2 πŸ™‚ First of all, thank you for your support! Let me address some of your issues:

      1. It's true that it might feel quite limiting right now, but we don't have the resources to manage always-online test servers. It's much easier for us to focus the testing, bug reporting and feedback in a limited time frame. Tests are going to last much longer in the future anyway - particularly as soon as we get Knowledge System implemented.
      2. Our crowdfunding goals are lower than one would expect - but please, allow me to brag a little πŸ˜‰ We've run the first Alpha test 8 months after the end of our Kickstarter campaign. The build lacked a lot of features, but it was already a game, featuring a 60km2 continent, combat, PvE, crafting, land claiming, building. It was not an arena to test combat or a miniature garden to test gathering/crafting or stuff like that. Servers were stable and there were no game-breaking bugs, too. We might have 1/10 of the funding of some of our competitors, and therefore a much smaller team, but we're delivering! πŸ™‚
      3. We're very aware of this too, but it's (partially) on purpose. We wanted A1-T1 not to be publicized too much because it was too rough. There will be way more streamers in A1-T2, and we'll start actually getting in touch with the "big ones" in Alpha 2!

This new initiative is mostly targeted towards "regular" community members who might talk about Fractured in the Discord channels / reddit channels / forums of the communities they follow, content creators with a very small following, and so on πŸ™‚

      Hi everyone!

      Alpha 1 - Test 1 has come and gone, and it's been glorious! We've received great feedback on the basic mechanics of the game, and are truly glad to know they've been appreciated by most of the community πŸ™‚

      Alpha 1 - Test 2, is set to start in June - exact day to be revealed. Aside from the obvious bug fixes and QOL changes, here's a roadmap of what we'll be working on in the next two months!
