      Fractured's Alpha 1 will feature a full day/night cycle. Here's a short preview of a day and a night on the banks of a river located of Syndesia (grassland biome). The character is a placeholder, in use until we complete our new character models.

      I guess you're received that email when you made the pledge, right? When you do that, Kickstarter doesn't withdraw the money from your credit card. As you've written in the message below, you only get charged only when the campaign is over.

      Try to look for Kickstarter emails on July 25, there should be one that tells you that the payment didn't go through. Let us know!

      Hi azraelius! That reference is not really about summons, but more about animating items (like a classic Animate Weapon spell) and constructs already built by you or other players, such as the golems/elementals mentioned by @Gothix πŸ™‚

      Hi boogis! The first iteration of mounts is going to work in that "simplified" way simply because it's quick to make (budget matters!) and because we won't have animal taming yet. It's not intended to stay like that forever.

      As you can see, animal taming is one of our stretch goals. Being a stretch goal means it's not a core feature of the game, but one we'd love to see nonetheless. If unlocked, we're going to work on it later on in the development cycle - perhaps in late alpha, perhaps in beta. Once that's completed, you'll be able to tame pets, issue them orders and of course attack other people's pets. That will include mounts!

      It's very, very unlikely we're ever going to have mounted combat for several reasons - the two largest ones being it would require a lot of work (particularly on the animation side) and that it would be a balancing nightmare. All our combat is designed and balanced to be between walking characters, and trust me we have a ton of more important features to develop than mounted combat which is really out of the scope of the game πŸ™‚

      Hi @Animus7Wanderer3, I found a pledge from a Kickstarter account registered with the same email as your Fractured account, but it says that your payment didn't go through ("there was an issue with the backer's credit card that could not be resolved"). If you check your email, I guess you'll find a notification from Kickstarter about the payment failing.

      This means that the money was never collected. If you want, you can just pledge again from our store! πŸ™‚

    • RE: Power gap between r1 and r3 spells is too big (POLL)

      Hi guys, I've seen the discussion on Discord so let me give you a quick reply here.

      First of all, some people were afraid that VIP would give an advantage in leveling up spells, but that's really not the case. The hard part of raising a spell to level 2 - 3 was always completing 4/6 - 6/6 tasks, because some could be located on different planets and/or be more complex than the others.

      I'm using past tense here because the concept of leveling up spells to make them more powerful was indeed breaking horizontal progression in a way, and has therefore been removed in favor of acquiring alternate versions of the same spell, which can then be chosen during the resting phase as if they were different spells altogether πŸ™‚ An alternate version might be more effective (higher damage and so on), but if so, that's always offset by one of more parameters getting worse (typically higher mana cost and cooldown).

This feature will likely become available in late Alpha (at best), after all the town and guild mechanics have been implemented. The guilds you can create on the website through The Foundation won't transfer into the game, it's just to make friends before we go live πŸ™‚
