    • OST Update - Main Theme V1

      Hi everybody!

      Among the myriad of pieces that make up an MMO, we believe that soundtracks often don't receive the due attention. Here at Dynamight Studios, however, we're well aware of the central role it plays, and we're not going to save on that.

      It is therefore with great pleasure that we are releasing the first piece of the Fractured OST. It is no less than the first version of the main theme, which you're soon going to hear again in our upcoming Kickstarter campaign!

      A couple questions:

      • Is the "Постухи" actually a shepherd - the generic word?
      • Does "боевые действиями" mean "action combat" (the type of combat of ARPG games, like Diablo or Path of Exile)? Because I'm afraid it means "combat actions", which has a very different meaning 🙂

      @Lohen @Kralith what's the big deal with "join the revolution"? 😄 Does it sound strange because it sounds real-life political?

      Let alone there is nothing inherently bad in a translation done by a non-native, if skilled enough... @zopek translated the texts to French, not to Spanish. What the heck did you see? Drop the glass! 😄

      @Baslak I can read French and Spanish (the latter I can speak too actually, just not well enough to trust myself for something public). They didn't use google translate. Their translations were good.

      @zopek thank you! A few questions though:

      • Is communauté actually used instead of community?
      • "des combats d'action" - the plural sounds a bit strange, is that how you'd say it? I would have guessed "combat d'action" or keeping the English "action combat".
      • "Un MMO dynamique" - Hmmm... You don't use taglines line "Le MMO Dynamique" in French?
      • CLÉ for KEY - same question as for "community"
      • "manière de jouer" foe gameplay, same question...
      • AD2 texts need to be short, yes

      @Rehmius thanks a lot and same questions I asked zoper: comunidad, desarrolladores, hermandad, mundo abierto, jugabilidad, are those "gaming"/IT words?
      Also, doesn't "colonización universal" have a different nuance than "colonización del universo"?

      You're not an archer. You're a high-DEX/PER character who has decided to play as an archer. Hold a DEX-based melee weapon, take a resting phase, pick the proper set of abilities (assuming you know them, of course) and talents, and you're ready for the dungeon 🙂

      Otherwise, if you really want to play ranged and kill that stone mob, yeah, ways to enchant your arrows exist - several, in fact. Unless you've made a character with 6-8 INT, you should be able to use them decently.

      Now, if the creatures you're fighting are completely immune from physical damage (some exist, and vice-versa as well) and you've made a character with 6 INT then the situation is more complex. Having a friend would be the best thing, but there are workarounds. Get +2 INT from talents. Use abilities that summon magical weapons (even low INT is enough for those). Use weapons crafted with materials that make them deal some magical damage. In a way or the other you can make it!

      From what I see so far, if one wants to play evil, it's a lot better got go human, drop your karma and be evil, then play as demon. You get a lot more freedom like that.

      Yes, you do have more freedom playing as an Evil Human since you can settle both on Syndesia and Tartaros, but you're missing out on a lot of stuff, namely:

      1. The unique traits of the three Demon families, explained here and here. For instance, if you're playing a Shadow Demon, you enjoy unique bonuses at nighttime, cap increases on Strength, Dexterity and Perception, and Affinity to Perception. That's a lot of useful stuff for Thief/Assassin/Scout builds which an Evil Human doesn't get, although it might use tech to make up for it in a way.
      2. The racial bonuses Demons enjoy while on Tartaros.
      3. The racial bonuses Demons enjoy while on Syndesia during an Eclipse.

      Arboreus and Tartaros are very specific outliers for players who really don't like PvP and for players who want a really unforgiving PvP environment. Syndesia appears to be the broadest and most fleshed out planet, with intricate guild politics, the full spectrum of alignments, etc.

      Who said Tartaros doesn't have city building & conquest & the "intricate guild politics"? It does! 🙂

      @Jetah @Benseine Fractured is a sandbox but one with a strong lore and racial characterization, which comes with several unique design choices. That being said, as I've also mentioned in the streaming, perhaps these restrictions will change or will go away as a whole. Alpha will tell!

      What you are suggesting is actually how usually things work - biomes blend gradually without any "hard" boundary. You can see that in the video when we move from the Mountain Forest to the Goblin Territory!

      Aside from major events, maps won't change over time. The passing of time and seasons can be seen in vegetation, animals, decaying of buildings, and so on. That being said, the Asteroids system will be a constant source of new maps and procedural generation will be very useful there 😉
