But i am curious about the Abomination and how long it will be to reach it.

Probably not very long since you have to PK people and most likely the penalty for that will be big on Arboreus.

I am also very curious how PVP will work in Fractured.

I am also very curious about it and I hope it doesn't follow the aoe-heavy trend.

      Yep.
I mean we get like 15€ worth of gold and a bunch of skins just for spamming the forums.

@Ostaff said in Winter Alpha Spotlight - Criminal System:

      @Prometheus

Is it possible to injure good players indirectly who are not in your "good" party when you have "PvP" mode turned on or does friendly fire only affect players in your own party?

If it doesn't affect everyone then you break the party in PVP and completely negate the FF. This doesn't seem right. It should injure all good players with PVP on.

Also, from what you said... just attacking a player changes your karma, then executing them changes it even more, and then if you loot them you change it more... so its all accumulative? however, the most change still only applies to the person who "executes" the player. Which means there will be an escape goat in each party who handles all the "executing" and looting and then distributing the loot afterwards.

      This is an excellent point.
In my opinion, it shouldn't matter who executes, but if they contributed to the killing. A more fair idea is to split the karma equally between everyone who participated in the killing, either by doing damage, CC or healing/buffing one of the aggressors.

All in all, I'm happy with this and the bounty hunter system is way better than I imagined. Just one tiny thing: can jails have limited spaces and the jailed people visually appear in jail even if they are offline?

    • RE: Upgradable Pets

      @asspirin
It's hard to judge fairly without being able to actually test stuff.
It seems a bit excessive that CHA increases the number of combat pets, improves a type of damage and buffs CC, but this can be balanced. For example, the pets can have a full array of skills that can be used only if put in the summoner's skillbar. If you want your pets to be strong, you better fill the skillbar with a bunch of pet abilities and maybe a heal, some buffs and some CC. This also makes a summoner-type character more versatile than in other games - you can solo as a summoner, fight in small scale pvp as a full psychic mage, and (assuming that psychic damage won't do much instant damage) be a CC-heavy support in large scale pvp.

PS: What's the point of summoning multiple pets if the more you have out, the weaker each individual one is? I think it should be more like a dog costs 1point, a wolf costs 4 points, a bear costs 10 points. At 20CHA you can have a maximum of 3 summons out with a total cost of 10 points.

    • RE: Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities

@asspirin said in Life leech on spells / enchants / buff abilities:

At least CC should be devided into soft CC (slows and such that only limit your movement/fighting capabilities) and hard CC (stun, petrify, being turned into chicken and similar ones, that leave you fully helpless).

No-stackable hard CC as you name them sounds like a good idea.

PS: @Shivashanti is right. Maybe we should start a thread about CC.

I'm in the same guild with HolyDragon and also plan to go the demon -> angel route. It should be an easier to achieve goal if we work together.

I started as a street rat (which btw is a lot easier than whatever the warrior class is called), but I mostly have spells unlocked because I fought spiders. All in all, melee seems a lot weaker than spellcasters.

I havent seen a single mmo where you cant open your bag and use consumables during the fight.

Thats the point of having consumables.

I know one, Albion. In order to use consumables you have to equip them and you can't change your gear (including consumables) when you are in combat.

@Xzoviac What skills other than the stun from bears and the buffs from goblins do you use? As I said in this thread, at this point you can make a caster that is a better tank than a melee character while also hitting hard with spells.

Like many things this is also matter of personal taste

It's also a bit about balance because if the game ends up having a variety of potions, the person who can afford to die with a bunch of expensive potions will have a huge advantage in pvp. Imagine fighting someone with 7.1/8.1 poison, gig, res, regen and invis potions in the same time in Albion. Not so fun eh? Even 1 of each of these poisons adds up to a reasonable amount of silver.

I have to agree, Recoil. It was fun sharing resources and helping each other build houses. Hopefully, the next patch will have more support skills and bosses/harder PvE that we can do together.

    • RE: How will loot drop work?

Being looted is a different crime than adds karma on being PK'ed? ...
Anyway, if you die and respawn to your house you should absolutely lose everything you got on you. Lets take the current map for example: if my house is in Creeping Woods (NW) and I'm farming more than half a map away in Vale of Shadows, bringing loot home is a dangerous journey when the full loot pvp gets implemented. Getting spawned at my house with all the items when being killed by mobs is basically a safe teleport with 30s vulnerability time which goes against the idea of dangerous journeys / no teleporting / localized marketplaces and banks in the worlds with open pvp.

PS: @Gothix 's idea is not bad imo. If you get KNOCKED by a mob, they might steal an item and whoever (you included) kills the mob gets it as loot. However, I wouldn't really want this implemented since it might be a little awkward if you are in party with randoms and lose an expensive item while being knocked out.
PPS: @Farlander in the release we will have mounts.

    • RE: Monster infrequent weapons?

@Farlander Gathering and crafting will be a lot less relevant if mobs drop full items.
From my opinion, the gatherers should be the ones who produce all the resources needed to craft a base item. It's a lot of money, but it's also risky because you gather out there in the wild. Then, people who farm in dungeons get artifacts as drops with which you can upgrade or mod a base item. I don't know how will crafting/refining work to make it worth having a dedicated character for these tasks. Anyway, the thing is that this way they stimulate the economy (since everything has to be crafted by someone and items will eventually be destroyed by losing durability) and you give different kind of players* their fun.

*the gatherer that likes to gather static nodes of resources and evade gankers, the gatherer that likes to solo and skin animals for leather or gargoyles for stone, the people who like to do dungeons in a party

@Jetah said in Opening inventory during fight ?:

i like how PoE does their pot refill system, which gives a limit on how many times you can consume them. only problem in pvp is the group that's winning will have access to more potions. unless pvp and pve have different refill speeds.

PoE's potion system is meant for a hack'n'slash game without crafting in which spamming potions is one of the two main ways of healing. Other than the problems mentioned by you (that a zvz is decided in the first engagement / potions doing almost burst healing as in PoE is going to make healers useless), this would also make potion crafting a lot more meaningless, which will affect a big chunk of economy since potions are end-products

PS: Most MMOs I played have healing potions, only that instead of burst-healing they give a slow regen buff. This way they are useful when soloing, yet healers are still useful in parties.

    • RE: Angel? Angel Spells?

@Gothix said in Angel? Angel Spells?:

Unless they convert to angels, to be able to enter Arboreus safe zones, but then they actually become good, once converted they are also stuck as angels (regression is impossible, not allowed by system), so they can never go back to being evil.

To my understanding, the whole alignment system is not only a roleplaying feature, but also a way to separate different types of players (pve carebears, pvp with flagging, hardcore pvp). Unlike lawfulness, karma is affected by your in-game actions. "Good" means you have positive karma. "Evil" means you have negative karma. Based on this, it makes very little sense that one can change from demon to angel and then gank and loot people non stop without karma repercussions on human planet.
