    • RE: Anyone afraid of a sellout?

      Honestly, this is my least concern. Even if they sell it, but the general vibe doesn't change much, I don't really care - as it was the case with ggg (path of exile developer).

      Overall, the fox, but if we go into specific skins, royal kitten is my favorite.

      I agree that we should be able to respec from time to time, but there is a huge thread about it already:

      @AcOrP
      I stopped playing after season 6, so I don't know what happened afterwards.

      #HCE: before f2p / hce nerf / RD introduction there were only so many keepers/morganas, so hce was basically the top pve content most of the people could access: repetitive, but most challenging, good fame, good loot, safe. Gear was incredibly expensive indeed (8.3 bolts alone was the equivalent of 1,5years of premium), but I guess people could start with hce1-6.

      #HG: πŸ™‚

      #small guilds: Agreed, but it proves that in Albion small guilds with competent people could be competitive (especially if they have connections). Regarding u12 I was talking about the part after raccoon-torthur drama when you created your own alliance in W Anglia. I guess that such guilds would succeed in Fractured as well.
      PS: I know u12 had competent gvgers, since they merc'ed for us from time to time πŸ˜›

    • RE: Is this a new hyped up Albion or games that fall in that territory?

      @Gothix
      People don't compare it to Albion because it's isometric, but because right now Albion is the most successful game with similar mechanics - full loot pvp and localized markets, dynamic economy, arpg-style gameplay, zones with different pvp rules, big guilds/zvz who fight over areas.

      @AcOrP
      There are enough examples in Albion were small guilds succeded despite having small ZvZ: articula mortis reaching crystal as a solo guild and taking over territories from EGO (a huge alliance at that moment); u12 academy taking over W Anglia; 1pg leaving squad and going solo in the middle of the season and ending up as a crystal guild controlling the whole swamp area in Mercia & pushing into archganistan.
      PS: It's worth mentioning that Albion also had HCE (endgame pve content for carebears) and HGs (entry level 5v5 activity with pve).

      Before the quarantine, I played the game with stable fps on an i3 4th gen, 750ti and 8gb ddr3. I can't test it on that setup now, but I doubt the sys req changed with these 2 tests.

      @Tuoni said in GO F2P LEARN FROM OTHER:

      Yes, but I was wondering what is the problem there? How on earth it is possible that someone needs to pay 5 times more from a game than others? I did not understand the point. Or is there so biased payment system in use that someone needs to pay basically 250$ of a 50$ game because of different currency.

      Minimum wage in Ukraine is ~150€. Minimum wage in France is ~1500€. If you want to open your market to countries like Ukraine or Russia you can't sell the product at the same price you'd do in France.

      If you buy that game with dollars from Amazon or Steam and you use a credit card for example, you will pay the same price as any one else regardless what is value of your country's currency.

      Steam has regional prices set by the developers. For example, here's a list of regional prices for New World and The Witcher 3.

    • RE: Pure Crafter

      At this point we don't know what are the benefits of dedicated crafters, if any.
      From my experience in other games, it's far less risky for guilds to invest in their own utility alts who will never leave the guild instead of people who might leave with all the investment at some point. Either way, if you plan to join a big guild, the answer is most likely no. There's a chance with small/casual guilds if dedicated crafters will be a thing.

    • RE: black forum theme

      To my knowledge, there's no officially supported dark theme for the forum, but the same result can be achieved using add-ons -> https://i.imgur.com/uCmPAlb.png

      I'm using Firefox, so I'll give an example for that:
      -> get dark reader https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/darkreader
      -> add forum.fracturedmmo.com in the site list
      alt text

      If you also want to get rid of the white background of the top picture:
      -> get stylish https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/?src=search
      -> open the style manager
      alt text
      -> on the left panel, select write new style
      -> on the code section add

      BODY {
              background-image: url("https://i.imgur.com/azjnqNX.jpg");
          }

      -> on the applies to select from the dropdown list "URLs starting with" -> http://forum.fracturedmmo.com/
      -> give it a name, check enable, save and that's it
      in case you need screenshots:

    • RE: What I "DO NOT" want to see in this game

      Royals in Albion are not completely useless. First, they offer new players a gradual start (huge IP cap with no pvp -> big IP cap with flagged pvp but no looting -> IP cap with full loot flagged pvp -> no IP cap, unrestricted full loot pvp). Then, it's the only place from which you can get t2/t3 resources to craft higher tier mats. Royals have a much better enchant rate for t4 and t5 nodes and it's the only place where you can farm faction points. A more obscure thing would be inis mon (yellow zone), the only place that drops the bone marrow (to craft rageclaw).

      The interesting thing is how the differences between zones in Albion are just loot values, IP cap and pvp rules. If you want to play Albion just for pve and gathering, you can play in the blue/yellow zone where you have all the pve content without pvp. You get low tier loot, but thanks to do IP cap and repair prices, it doesn't matter because you get exactly the kind of stuff you'd use and you never lose them. These being said, I never met anyone who decided to "live" in these zones.

      In a way, if we want to compare Fractured to Albion, I'd say it's more like: Arboreus = blue + yellow + HCE; Syndesia = red zone; Tartaros = black zone. My main confusion is that Fractured devs say all those zones would drop top gear (as long as it is top gear stat-wise, it doesn't matter what it's crafted from). Imagine if SBI decided to introduce in blue/yellow zones enchanted t3 resources up to 3.8 (so, 3.5 = t8 and 3.8 = 8.3). This is exactly how I see the game balance in Fractured.

    • RE: What I "DO NOT" want to see in this game
      • Albion has no players cities, only cities with rich people buying all the spots. I do not want to see that happen in Fractured.

      I assume that by this you mean how in Albion all town plots are owned by a handful of people. To my understanding, we can only own one plot per planet per account in Fractured, which should reduce the monopoly.

      • Gathering is very unpopular in Albion as far as I see. Game forces you to hardcore PvP and rewards those who does. Consequently people do not prefer gathering. Instead, they do newly introduced dungeons and hellgates to obtain money and gear.
      • Related to previous matter, in a sandbox game, I would love to see gathering&crafting be the backbone of everything and they should be the primary focus.

      I haven't played Albion in a year, so my information might be outdated, but gathering is unpopular? Top guilds always recruited gatherers who'd donate % and didn't have to come to zvz. Besides, Albion cannot function without gathering: every item in the game is crafted* and when people die there's a 30% chance for each item to trash (be destroyed forever). If nobody gathers, eventually the number of items in game drops and the mats price skyrocket.

      *even the items you get as loot from pve are crafted by people and sold to the black market

      • Being a sandbox game should not indicate complete freedom.

      I agree here.

    • RE: Suggestion: Currency names

      I really like the independent coin for each planet idea. It doesn't change much because each planet will have its own inflation, but it adds a little flavor to the game.

      How about the original point, even if they leave gold and dynamight gold people would call them gold and dyna or something like that. Overall it shouldn't be an issue, but it might be a bit confusing for new people.

      I don't think there's a definitive answer to this question yet. On the FAQ it says

      We’re working to keep Fractured available on mid-range computers and laptops as well, including those a few years old.

      If this helps, before the quarantine I played the game without any issues on a i3 4th gen, 750ti and 8gb ddr3.

    • RE: PvE Planet with PvP

      Bottom line is that people were already griefing in the last tests by blocking houses with carts. It's obvious for anyone who played an online game before that expecting people to behave is a bad idea => open world PvE without a way to dispute spots doesn't work. A compromise has to be made in this regard: instanced farming zones, pvp without looting, whatever.
