    • RE: Topic for points, and just a general topic.

Welcome to Fractured! Since gameplay is completely free at this time for another few days, you might as well check it out and see if you like it. After Wednesday it will be closed to accounts with alpha access again. So limited time to check it out for free.

But be mindful, this game is not a release version yet - it's alpha. you will encounter a fun amount of bugs, but that should not prohibit you from getting a feel of where this game is heading.

    • RE: Which pack do I need to buy to play?

To play in the current playtest, you don't need to buy any pack. Just a registered account is good. This test got extended, so you have like 3 days to play right now.

If you want to partake in any upcoming alpha tests, those are restricted to accounts with packages that grant alpha access (Legend or higher).

I would recommend to just join in, see if you like the game and decide if you want to take part in future alpha tests.

      Hey,

The link goes to a feature spotlight. It's basically a write-up of how it is going to be at some point. Those things are currently not implemented yet.

The only playable race for this test is human.

      Hope that helps,

      Hey,

when switching weapons with tab while pressing and holding the left mouse button, it defaults to a movement command until you release the mouse button and left-click again. Doesn't seem intended.

@Nekrage That would explain it. I'm sure he did inflict bleedings/debuffs due to the starter skills. Sounds like an unintentional effect or bug rather.

    • RE: Physical Immune enemies should be removed.

I could be wrong here, but when you actually join a party through the social mechanics implemented (hotkey "s") all knowledge gain is shared within the group. I was doing wisps and elementals in a larger group (5 players or so) at the start of this test. All knowledge gain counted for me. Now, I was also a caster, so maybe there is a requirement to do damage in order to also get the party's knowledge gain.

However, we did have a melee character with us and he did not complain about not getting any wisp knowledge. So I think it shares properly, but would have to test to be certain.

If that's not the case, I would assume that's more of a bug or a mechanic to prevent lazy people that just needs to get refined.

Yes, tier 3 enchantments are not possible yet. They will require much better ingredients. Not all enchantments offer even tier 2 at this stage.

    • Movement Issues

      Hey,

I just wanted to post this in a bug section now as well as I feel like this has become an issue big enough to post it here. It's partially also described in these reports:

      Report #1
      Report #2

and I posted this before in the discussion subforum.

The general problem is that the left mouse button currently does:

      • movement
      • object interaction (corpses, materials, plants, etc.)
      • attacks
      • ability/skill targeting

      Problem:

      out-of-combat
Left-clicking to move will ultimately end up in accidentally targeting a plant, picking it up instead of moving the character to the selected spot. Using a pressed left-mouse button and moving the cursor will lower this risk but not fully eliminate.
Some areas cannot be targeted because they are blocked by an object (trees cause this the most). A click on the area will just cause a tree menu to pop up instead of moving a character to it.

      in combat
This becomes more aggrevated when in combat. Since the left-mouse button is also used to attack and you therefore need to release it from previous movement, then hover over the enemy, perform an attack and resume moving with another click. This is probably not as bad for melee characters, but worse for mages or archers who rely on keeping distance to enemies and requiring special positioning.
The chance of clicking another enemy, tree, or other object, is rather large. This has become more pronounced since monster density has increased in recent updates (looking mainly at Whispering woods with zombies, skeletons, etc.) and subsequent corpse amount. So I end up looting corpses when trying to move or attack.

Additionally, targeting certain enemies underneath trees is also impossible, because the tree menu blocks any selection.

I'm sure you have a fix for this already in mind, just like adding extra buttons to left-click to change functionality (shift +left-click for pickups or so).

This fantastic enchanting guide offers links to some ingredient charts. Some easily accessible recipes I keep using though are:

      Mana Regeneration T1
      Ashes
      Mandrake Root

      Endurance Regeneration T1
      Ashes
      Garlic

      Intelligence T1
      Mandrake Root
      Honeynail Mushroom

      Critical Damage T1
      Honeynail Mushroom
      Arnica
      Sulphur

    • RE: [Alpha 2] General Suggestions

I updated the original post to the current alpha status.

      Added sections:
      1.3 toggleable movement lock
      2.2 enemy targeting

Let me try to get the train back on the rail in this thread.

At this point in alpha, where PvP has become an option, I can only keep advocating for looking into the problems described especially in section 1 and 2. I would call this almost game-breaking at this point and important to sort out.

Maybe this sounds a little harsh, but I am not sure I would want to even test any further pvp mechanics without having a somewhat refined and not overly clunky movement system in place. The frustration of getting stuck on item pickups, corpses, bodies, enemies or such while trying to move is quite big.

      Hey,

Character animation continues to execute the "pick up material from cart" when picking up any material from your cart and moving. Movement is not locked. It also appears that the movement speed debuff is only being applied after the material has been picked up. Some weird sliding movements can be created this way.

    • Magic Armor tooltip and effect mismatch?

      Hey,

Magic Armor states Magic Resistance +5%+INT%. It seems to impact actually all resistances under the "Magic Resistances" category, not just the actual magic resistance. I guess the problem ends up being that there is a category "Magic Resistances" as well as a single Magic Resistance.

Clearly a minor thing in case the skill works as intended.

edit: It also seems that the skill does ignore the worn armor (as in its description) but only if the armor is less than what the magic armor buff gives. So if you have 50 base defense, 14 int, that would be 240 slash armor through magic armor. When wearing all hide armor, you can get to 304(?) slash armor. When activating magic armor, it does count the higher value of 304 instead of reducing to 240. Tooltip isn't 100% clear if this is intended.

      FAQ

      Read the official FAQ

Q: The imbuement table doesn’t work!
A: Make sure you own or have permissions for the enchanting table you are using. The public one in the starter and tutorial town does not work. Make sure you have ingredients and equipment placed matching the wanted enchantment attributes. Read the guide above for more info.

Q: Is the bank in town global?
A: No, it is town specific. You will not be able to access your bank chest from Town A in town B.

      Q: How do I build a house?
A: You need 2000 gold, find an unoccupied place on the map, purchase the land and place the blueprint. For more detail, read the building section in this guide

Q: Are all parcels 4x4 in size?
A: All parcels in the open world are 4x4, only guild cities can offer 5x5 parcels.

      Enchanting
You can improve your items’ basic attributes like armor value or damage by going to a Enchanting Stone. Place your desired item into the open slot and click on “enchant” to increase your enchanting level by 1. You will need to spend gold and primal crystal residue/dust for each level with higher levels requiring more.

All items start at enchanting level 0 and can reach a maximum of level 4.

      Imbuing

Imbuing can be done at any Imbuing table that you have built or been given access to. It DOES NOT WORK at the public one in the starter or tutorial towns!

      Imbuing Table with Mana Regeneration.png

To imbue, place any equipment (helmet, body armor, gloves, shoes, necklace, any weapon or shield) into the center (Green Box). You will now see possible imbuements on the right side (Blue Box) - scroll down to see more.

Each imbuement requires 4 attributes listed underneath the imbuement name. Mouse over to see the names.
Each reagent (imbuement ingredient) has three aspects listed in their tooltip. To place the imbuement you want onto the equipment in the table, you need to place reagents in the outer squares (Red Boxes) and match the imbuement aspects with at least 2 points.

Mana Regeneration requires Mind, Transfer, Time and Energy. Placing Mandrake Root, Bitterleaf and (2) Amanita Mushrooms into the imbuing table gives us:

      Mandrake Root

We need the Transfer and Energy.

      Bitterleaf

We need the Mind. Since we already have reached more than 2 Energy, we won’t need the additional Energy from the Bitterleaf.

      Amanita Mushroom

      We need the Time.

We now have at least 2 in Mind, Transfer, Time and Energy and the imbuement now shows available (Blue Box) for placing onto the equipment. Click on “Enchant” (Yellow Box)) and you are done. If multiple Imbuements show available, there is an equal chance to get one of them imbued onto your equipment.

You can find reagent combinations for different imbuements at FracturedBase

For a more detailed guide, have a look at the Imbuing guide by Ser Medieval

      Building

To build a house, you need the following:

      • own a plot of land
      • place a house blueprint
      • own a hammer and axe
      • gather all materials and complete each building segment

First of all, you will need to gather 2000 gold pieces. You can find those as loot on multiple creatures, primarily humans and humanoid creatures, in lockboxes or as trial rewards.

      Parcel management icon.png

Then find an open plot of land. This is indicated by a grey square on your world and mini map and as a roped-off construction site on the actual world. All house plots are 4x4 in the world, except for guild cities. Maximum size in guild cities is 5x5 and only a few of those will exist in the world. Move into the construction site, select the parcel management window and pay the 2000g to take possession of the land. Open your blueprints (Hotkey: N) then select the "Blueprint" tab in the top, select the desired type of building and place it with right-click on your plot of land.

As of the current release version, I recommend placing a 3x3 no patio blueprint. This will allow you to place more or less all crafting stations you might want.

Building blueprint with needed mats showing.png

You will now be able to mouse-over any part of the house and see what materials are required to finish each segment of the building. Stone can be gathered from stone nodes (requires a hammer) and wood from trees (requires an axe). Your character can only transport one piece of material at a time.

Building a handcart makes a builder’s life much easier. To do so, open the blueprint menu (Hotkey: B), select the handcart and place it with right-click. Mouse over to see the needed materials, gather those, transport them to the cart, and add them to the cart by left clicking on it with the material in your hands. Congratulation! You can now transport 12 building materials at a time by adding them to the built handcart just like you did before when you were building it. A handcart can only transport wood and stone blocks.

You can add materials to your building site just like you did with the cart: Hold the material in your hand and left click on the building segment you wish to add the material to.

After completing your house blueprint, you can add blueprints for furniture and craft stations as you like in the same fashion.

You will need to pay an upkeep of 2000 gold per week unless you have VIP activated.

      Crafting

You can open the crafting menu by pressing “N” or by interacting with a crafting station. All crafting menus have the same structure.

      Crafting and Building Window Real.png

You have the crafting categories (red box) and recipe list (blue box). Available crafts are dependent on the crafting station used.

To craft a specific item, select it in the list, then adjust the wanted quantity and click on craft. You can alternatively just click “craft all” to craft the highest possible quantity of that item based on the ingredient quantities you have.

Most crafted items can be made in different qualities: Poor, normal, good or excellent. Chances for higher quality results are dependent on your crafting experience with that specific item.

Each craft will give you crafting experience towards the next rank for that specific craft. Crafting inside the tutorial will not grant you experience. Anyone can make primitive (tier 1) gear. To make tier 2 items (e.g Energy Staff), you need to become an adept in its tier 1 version (e.g. Primitive Mage Staff).

Higher quality has slightly better attributes and more importantly only items of normal or better quality and non-primitive items can be repaired at the workstations they can be crafted at.
