Any ideas you post should probably keep both playstyles in mind. Creating space is the problem, game world is too big, too many housing spots, too many resources. Shrink it down based on player population and people will fight like rats over crumbs. The PvP play style is legitimate and many people enjoy it; however, the vast majority of players don't want to be in a tiny world fighting over crumbs. If you want that kind of intensity, I think the seige mechanic is there to provide that - it is still in development, but that goal is there.

PSA: If you encounter "network connection issues" when playing Fractured, use ExitLag to resolve the issue.

PSA: If you encounter "network connection issues" when playing Fractured, use ExitLag to resolve the issue. In the past, using VPN to connect to Montreal or Toronto might help to solve the problem. But now, VPN might not work anymore and the best solution is ExitLag.

Gosh, this reminds me of UO. I'll be in Terra munching popcorn.

Maybe the dev can introduce a command line tool for players to unstuck themselves

@GamerSeuss said in Maybe the dev can introduce a command line tool for players to unstuck themselves: @stkmro Interesting thought, but in general, you never want to give command line access to players in a game. It can then be used to develop bots and hacks and generally launch other kinds of cyberattacks on a program... This is why even limited command-line access will more than likely be reserved for moderators at most, but probably GMs or higher...of course, that's coming from another player/game designer/instructor, not one of the Devs. Players having a possibility to use different kinds of /commands is common in games, and /unstuck is used as well. These are executed through the ingame chat and are not causing any security risks. I do not know what kind of access you thought but this is what @stkmro meant.

As far as I know, you can already accept defenders from anywhere.

@Pandorra74 No worries Pandorra. Once you got out of the initial spawn area, there were tons of unclaimed plots. I passed them quite regularly on my way to the other side of the continent.

It's all about having the solid base to the game. I haven't played but look at Albion whom just went over to steam and raked in some new players and keeping the game alive that way. Though these games when they start out small go downhill quick. There are no gimmicks, either the game will be good and people will want to play or it won't be and no matter how rosy we get, it's just not logically going to survive.
