    • RE: Backfeed

The space for quest crops is not wasted. You can’t touch those crops after the beginner quests to prevent people from exploiting the resources later in the game. The space that is given allows for plenty of recourses when there are large numbers of players trying to do the beginner quests at the same time.

If by "Combat mode/peace mode" you mean the function of the space bar you are very wrong. It is absolutely required as it prevents accidental clicking on resources when you are in combat. Without it you end up trying to gather any resource that is too close to the critter you are fighting instead of delivering the intended blow to said target. This is a long requested function and something we are very grateful to have.

    • RE: Default setting for Autorun hotkey is not well thought out

I used Z for autorun. Assigning an icon wasn't the only issue though. To split a stack you have to left-control click and with autorun bound to that key it just doesn't work.

@Carl try rebinding your autorun button to another key. I use the Z button for autorun now and I no longer have issues with splitting stacks.

@Jakebuchar This is just a short test. What you are referring to is the next big test. I think March was mentioned for that one and that is when the servers will stay up I believe.

      I agree with you absolutely!

So far Dynamight Studios has kept their word and there is no indication that anything will change in that regard. I have complete faith in Jacopo and the Dynamight Studios team.

A dark, towering creature appears before you, you’re filled with fear, yet you don’t feel threatened, the creature opens it’s mouth and utters its ethereal name...

      … Arcahem is here!

Scratching head and thinking If I do not feel threatened then the fear I sense is not real, therefore, I deny the fear, and I am no longer afraid. The fear matters not anyway. I am a small bug next to your towering presence. Should you attempt to strike at me I shall simply be pushed away by the air of your mighty swing, much like a gnat before the swipe of a hand, and suffer no damage.

I am StormBug “a.k.a. Storm” and I am petite but powerful, and I welcome you, Arcahem, to Fractured Online!

    • RE: Any news for the new test?

I am seriously hoping that the next test doesn't start until after Christmas. I personally won't be able to play from the 20th through the 30th and that would take a huge chunk out of any end of year test. I really want to play the entire test!

    • RE: Fall Alpha 2021 Survey

@Prometheus I really wanted to do this survey but I have been too busy to get to it. I think I missed my chance as when I try to go to the survey I get the following response "FALL ALPHA 2021 SURVEY This survey hasn't been released yet." I can see that others have already done it so I assume that it has been released and perhaps closed. Is it just no longer available?

    • RE: Intown Claim: Fences on predefined Roads not always placeable

@Kralith This issue happened last test as well. It was what caused me to choose the plot that I did this time. I didn't want it to happen to me again. (I knew there was a bug I was fogergetting to report last test but I couldn't remember what it was. This was it!) It wouldn't let me put anything in that very corner space for that very reason. It said "blueprint can't be placed on roads"

    • Newcomers - Asked and Answered

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions for those that have never played before. This is not intended as a how-to but just a quick rundown of the most frequently asked and answered questions I have seen in the chat window.

Small Stones: You can find them on the ground. The can be hard to see though. There are also large stone blocks; those are something different though.

Branches: These are found in trees. When you click on a tree you have the option to gather branches or cut down the tree. If you cut down the tree you get logs.

Banks: Banks in Fractured work a great deal like real banks. You can put cash (gold) into them and withdraw it at any other bank. However, any item you place inside a bank (just like if you used a safety deposit box) must be withdrawn from the same bank you placed it in.

Gems: You can find gems when mining various ores. For instance if you mine coal you can find diamonds. Gems also drop from a select few monsters.

Hunger/Fatigue/Health/Mana: Those funny little gauges in the top left of the screen, those are what they are. The farthest left with the tiny stomach symbol under it is Hunger. To fill it up you eat. Next, the lightning Bolt, is Fatigue. You must rest at a campfire, tavern, or home fireplace to fill this up. Fatigue is caused by everyday activities as well as some spells. The red bar is Health and the Blue bar is Mana. You can heal by resting, using bandages, or a spell. There are no potions to get mana back and resting may not bring it back to full; time will do it however.

Horses: To catch a horse you must have a net. Sometimes it take more than one net. To make nets first craft rope and then go to your “Consumables” crafting menu and look for nets. Once you have your nets drag them to your hot bar. Find a wild horse and cast your net on it. Once you have succeeded click on the horse to tame it. Horses are everywhere; go and look for them, and good luck.

Carts and Ore: Carts must be crafted and come in two sizes, a hand cart and a larger cart that can only be pulled be a horse. The only items that can be placed in the carts are the various ores, coal, charcoal, stone blocks (not to be confused with small stones) and logs. When you join a city you will gain access to bagged proteins and cereals for paying city upkeep and these go in carts as well but are not something you will run into right away. You cannot live out of a cart of either size as no object other than those I just mentioned can be placed in the carts.

A Plot of Land: To purchase your own property simply walk onto an available lot and look for the house icon in the bottom right of the screen. Click on it and if you have enough gold you can purchase the land. There are different sizes of plots from 2x2 up to 5x5 and the price varies. There are also plots inside city limits and outside of the city proper.

Purple Damage: The only way to heal when you have been Purpled (when a portion of your health bar has turned purple) is to sleep at a Tavern or fireplace in a Home. Sleeping at a campfire only heals the red health bar. A portion of your red health bar turns purple when you get knocked out. If your entire health bar turns purple, you die. Now if you hear someone say “I’ve been Purpled!” you will understand what they mean.

Fleshing Beam: It's the wooden pole right outside the shop indicated by the tutorial waypoint.

Crafting Stations: Please note that several crafting stations come with the option to change the ingredients that you are going to use. For instance when you open a forge it might appear that it requires "Blood Iron" and you wonder, "How do I get Blood Iron?" but you don't really need Blood Iron. Just click on it and it will open a panel that lets you select various types of metal including the lower level Iron or copper. Blood Iron is actually an advanced metal and not something a starting player need concern themselves with. Try this out on other crafting stations and see what you can discover.

I hope this information helps some of the newcomers. If there is any other “basic” information that should be added to this post please let me know and I will add it.

    • RE: Question regarding crafting on plots outside a city.

@Dax If your plot of land is right outside of a city you will have the same access to the level of crafting stations that the city has. For example I live outside the city of Atrium and can build Advanced Smelters. This is because Atrium has unlocked Advanced Smelters. As far as I know the only way you won’t be able to advance, when your plot is located outside of a city, is if the city is stagnate.

Also, like @GamerSeuss said, you can find several discussions about solving the theft of crafted goods from work stations. One of the newest is here https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/14445/ingots-leather-and-theft?page=1

    • Epic Chat Spamming

      @Prometheus @Specter

I know that you are aware that this happened earlier today and fixed it but it just drove me out of the game again a few minutes ago. At least this time there wasn't any foul language.

Someone was using the Prometheus name but without the bright yellowish orange color normaly associated with our resident god. I am not sure if this matters, or if it is him or not, but thought I would include the info just incase.

    • RE: Newsletters have reset.....Again !

So many people have posted about this but the game is a priority as it should be. It’s not even relevant until the game goes live so there is a ton of time for them to fix it. I would much rather that the Devs spend their time working on game bugs right now while we are PLAYING then some (at the moment) no consequence newsletter count. Mine has done the same thing. It goes down, or way too high and then eventually it rights itself. There is absolutely no reason to stress about it or to get rid of it. Simply ignore it for now. When it matters I am quite confident that they will fix it.

    • RE: Thank you for everyone that participated in the Siege, some feedback from Criminal Hype.

I am so glad that there was a video. I died so fast that I didn’t know what hit me and I wondered if I really was that terrible at PVP. Then I watched the video. I now know that I am just bad at it. You all wanted me dead so bad that I didn’t stand a chance and that made me feel so much better about the whole thing, LOL.

While the raid might have been very short and we lost horribly it was still fun and pointed out where work needs to be done so I am very happy about that. Thanks for giving us a chance to participate in a raid.

BTW, I hope someone enjoyed the worn-out gear they took from my inventory 🙂

    • Market Bug - Durability Conflict - Can't Sell

This, to me, is a serious Marketplace bug. I have +1 Sun Steel Plate with a durability of 792/600 and I can’t sell it because the Marketplace sees it as a durability of 24/600. This is very much a bad thing. Please smash this nasty bug.

    • One Image, Three Bug Capture

      One image, several issues captured.

      1. In several locations, like this one, roads and bridges don’t line up.

      2. The text “Press Hotbar 1 to release cart” never goes away. If this is not a bug it certainly is annoying and clutters the screen unnecessarily.

      3. My horse’s legs sink into the ramp of the bridge. This happens with any incline actually and not just with a cart either. My horse has the opposite issue when going downhill. It seems to step out into space before finally leveling off.

    • RE: Ingots, Leather and Theft

@Logain the storage attached to the smelter or tanning tub would only hold the amount of product that can be produced in one run. A person would have to remove their items from the storage before they could use the tanning tub or smelter again. It isn't supposed to be anything more than a way to prevent theft and insure that people can't hold tubs and smelters hostage by leaving their products in them. You can only remove your finished items not put anything in.
