RE: SpatialOS Games Spotlight!
@althalus Chronicles of Elyria dropped SpatialOS a few months ago.

RE: Housing and Group Housing
We don't know much about housing or guilds besides that they're both tied to the settlement system which happens to be the topic of the next spotlight. We do know that there won't be any content locked behind a paywall which should include housing.

RE: Additional Systems Re-post
It sounds like a lot of work and money for systems that don't offer any gameplay value.

i don't understand the point of non-friendly-fire if friendly exist. i can understand no friendly fire against party mates but other groups and individuals should be susceptible to friendly fire.
I agree. I want the same thing, but we know that there will be limits on it. Which is why I'm curious about good vs evil fight dynamics (and the full extent of friendly fire limitations).
@mattdaniel said in coalitions:
it is obvious that friendly fire does not apply to the guild or coalition. since the coalitions are made for that reason
That doesn't have to be true. If friendly fire applied to guilds/alliances it would require a lot more tactical positioning and teamwork instead of the game turning into zerg blobs. I would love that.

RE: coalitions
@jetah We don't know the extent of friendly fire mechanics. From the sound of it, partying will disable friendly fire. It also seems like good aligned players will not be able to hurt each other at all which brings into question good vs evil fights if evil players suffer friendly fire and good players don't.
If DS maintains their same race guild then having 2 alliances will never happen.
That's assuming alliances have the same restrictions as guilds. We don't know that yet. But yeah, the 3 planets should make it significantly harder for only 2 major alliances, though 2 major alliances per planet (or at least the two pvp planets) might still be a possibility.

RE: In Game Memorial for Players that Die as a Suggestion
@jetah Video games monetizing irl deaths is heading into some unethical territory.
I'd prefer if there were no specific system in place just for these features. Instead, there should be enough freedom within the already existing features for players to set up their own memorials if they choose — naming cities/streets/buildings, plaques, enough customization in city building to make graveyards and memorials, etc.
Keep in mind that player settlements are not permanent. Buildings decay and can be destroyed, cities can be conquered, and when city ownership changes the new owners will most likely get to rezone the city. Making a memorial would carry the risk of it being destroyed.

RE: Which class will you choose?
There are no classes. You have a selection of 400 skills and an 8 slot hotbar. Different skills scale off different attributes which you set at character creation. You can emulate traditional classes if you want but there won't be any restrictions besides the obvious (you need a bow for bow skills, etc...)
The first build I want to try out is an illusion warrior.

RE: How Big Is The Skill Tree System?
There is no skill tree. Skills are learned individually through discovery. However, there is a talent tree.
You can read about both here.

RE: How big is the game realm?
@finland https://fracturedmmo.com/feature-spotlight-2-universe-planets-travels/
Arboreus is the largest planet of the Elysium Ring, with a surface twice as wide as that of Syndesia – although the area of continents above sea level is roughly equivalent to that of the other planets.
Tartaros is the smallest of all the planets of the Elysium Ring. Notwithstanding its size, its walkable surface is similar in area to the one of Arboreus and Syndesia,
It doesn't explicitly say playable area but it seems heavily implied.

RE: How big is the game realm?
@finland said in How big is the game realm?:
We know only that Arboreus will be bigger than Syndesia. Syndesia will be bigger than tartaros.
The planet sizes are different but the playable areas should be similar size.
