@jetah said in Dinamic of city conquering conquering mechanics people involvment (albion errors):

only problem I can see is when one guild or alliance becomes the biggest and starts to conquer everything. This happened in Eve Online a few times. People hate being on the losing side with zero chance to win so they'd join the big zerg guild just to be winners all the time.

Presumably the counter to that would be the smaller guilds building alliances. Unless the big guild is 60% of the server population, there should be enough people to stop them.

As far as I know, one coalition in Eve has never owned all of nullsec. How did they get stopped?

    • RE: Joining a Siege without being required to join the Guild.

@Jetah They've mentioned that guilds can open their settlements to non guild members, so I imagine anyone living within a sieged settlement would be able to participate.

Instead of sub guilds maybe there can just be a contract system that allows mercenary recruitment of individuals/guilds or temporary alliances. It's more sandboxy and opens up potential political conflict if contracts get broken.

@tulukaruk said in Joining a Siege without being required to join the Guild.:

As the sieges won't be to take ownership of the city

Where did you get that info? Considering there's no limit to the amount of cities a guild can control, there must be a way to take a city from a guild. They also didn't say private houses are indestructable, only that player buildings are protected outside of conquests (keyword conquest).

You'll be able to declare war, sign alliance treaties and even non-belligerency ones.

The link on that one doesn't work anymore.

@finland I don't like zerging either, but I don't think there should be a player limit for sieges. I'd rather see anti-zerg builds or other mechanics to counter them. I also believe if small guilds want to stand a chance against larger guilds then they should be making alliances and not rely on arbitrary game mechanics to stay competitive.

If it has to be voluntary, there's nothing stopping roleplaying as slaves, but as a forced game mechanic, I don't want to see it. Maybe if the GvG mechanics are deep enough we can get vassals and tributaries.

Open world settlement building is a core feature of the game. Based on this post you'll be able to place roads. All races and planets will have player built settlements but only Tartaros and Syndesia will have sieges.

I always like the clothed armor style from Morrowind concept art. Maybe not too practical, but it looks really cool.

    • RE: Price range of game? $50-$75 AUD? or?

For release, I believe they're planning to sell the game for $30 USD so about $40 AUD. The game probably won't be on Steam until it's polished enough for a more general audience, which might take a couple years.

    • RE: How should shields work? WoW vs. Vermintide style

I don't think fractured will have the kind of combat that could support active shield blocking like Vermintide. It would be pretty janky with click to move. The closest we might get is moba style shield skills.

    • RE: An experienced MMORPG player with tons of questions

Will there be other currency than the Premium Currency 'Dynamight Gold'? If so, will it be like most MMO's, with Copper/Silver/Gold coins or just gold, or will it be like PoE, with usable currency?

There will be non-premium currency that will most likely not be exchangeable for dynamight gold. We don't know what form it will take but it will most likely be traditional currency.

Is it possible to trade between planets, or does each planet have their own economy? Will there be an AH, or will the trades be between players (RS style before the GE)?

Trading between planets is one of the core aspects of the economy because each planet planet has it's own unique resources. There's no universal banking system or auction house; players have to physically transport economic resources around.

What will the loot system be like? In the Alpha Video we didn't see anything related to this. Will the items just pop on the ground after killing a monster? (If it does this, how will parties divide loot/how will you combat ninja looting?) Alternatively, will we have an looting UI, and we roll on the loot (like WOW).

Looting will mostly consist of resources and currency. The goal is for every piece of gear to be crafted by players, though they have mentioned identifying enchanted items. I don't know how those two concepts don't conflict, so that will require clarification from DS. (Maybe identifying is how you learn crafting recipes?)

Ninja looting is possible but is considered a hostile action and thus is incapable of being committed by good aligned players against good or neutral players. Neutral (and evil?) players will get flagged as thieves for 24 hours.

What will the items/gear be like? Again, something we disn't see in the gameplay footage. Is this the way to progress in the game? Can we acquire Items in other ways than crafting or buying them? Will the items/gear be almost random (Grim Dawn/PoE style) or will the items/gear be like in WOW?

There's no gear progression. The gear you start with is supposed to be competitive with any other piece of gear anyone else has.

Will there be Instances/Dungeons/Raids? To me, as a PvE junkie, these have been the best part of any MMORPG. Of course, Instances could be solo'd, with scaling difficulty if a party joins. If there will be these Instances/Dungeons, how do we access them? Will we have procedurally generated dungeons, or will they be pre-determined? What will be the merit to do these dungeons, if items are crafted by players, and not dropped in Instances?

There are no private instances. Dungeons will be part of the open world. There will be procedurally generated temporary asteroids, but they seem to serve GvG conflict over resources.

What will endgame look like in Fractured? Other procedurally generated games (read No Man's Sky) have had the problem of getting boring quick, because there is no feeling of progression and only repetitive tasks. What will I be doing after 500+hrs on the game? What is the way to progress after that?

From what we know: Housing/settlement building, GvG politics/conflicts, PvP, maxing out all skills, crafting, and trading. If there's more than that I'd like to know too.

Unlikely. There are too many gameplay mechanics based on race.

    • RE: About demon karma and races

Any subrace can technically have whatever build they want, but their potential stat distributions will lend themselves better to certain playstyles. Hellfire demons might have the potential to be the best warriors in the game, but they'll never be top tier mages.

    • RE: Stat Reset

Talents and maybe some buffs might alter them to an extent, but stats are supposed to be the hardest thing to change about your character's build.

Personally, I'm hoping that there's a consistent way to respec stats even if it takes time or is somewhat costly. A skill system like this one is very open to experimentation, and I don't want to have to endlessly create alts, grind out skills, then delete them just to experiment with builds.

The fact that it's called "The Foundation" is a hint that it's probably only a pre-release thing.

So you could do a evil daemon - good beastman trade but if the deamon want to kill you after he could, you not.

Good players can freely attack evil players. They would both be taking a risk.

    • RE: Transportation?

      https://fracturedmmo.com/feature-spotlight-2-universe-planets-travels/

The easiest fast travel option, Gateways are magical doors located in a few key locations of each planet. When you enter one, you’ll be able to instantly teleport to any other Gateway located on the same planet that you have already discovered by physically travelling to it. Here’s the catch, though: you’ll be subject to various limitations when using one, including the inability to carry resources.

Teleportation Magic. In Fractured, you’ll have the chance to learn a few spells that will allow you to teleport yourself to other locations on the same planet, subject to limitations similar to those of Gateways, including what items you can carry and the need to discover the destination first.

The prime way to travel to other planets, Stargates require a great deal of group effort to be summoned and don’t last for long. After crossing one, the time you’re allowed to stay on the new planet is limited and varies according to your race, your alignment and your destination. Demons are a notable exception to this rule, having been gifted by Babilis the ability to travel to other worlds more easily to bring terror to the other much hated races

Good aligned players can't initiate hostile actions against other good or neutral players. Only neutral or evil players can.
