@eurav said in PvP loot, an yet unasked question and diferent POV:

When you get knocked out you lose / drop everything in your inventory. When you get killed you lose / drop every piece of equipement you are wearing. Was answered by Prometheus in an Q&A. Hopefully I got this right

To clarify this, there are two "death states" because you basically have two health bars. Endurance is your primary health, it's what most attacks will do damage to. When you lose all endurance your character is knocked unconscious and will get back up after some time. When unconscious, your inventory can be looted (it isn't dropped). Looting is considered a hostile action and is thus limited by the alignment system (good players can't loot other good or non-flagged neutral players, etc.)

You have a second healthbar (health), which is what gets damaged when all endurance is lost. When a characters loses all health, it dies and its inventory and equipped items can be looted, and the same alignment restrictions apply on looting.

I'm pretty sure good characters are entirely incapable of harming each other with friendly fire, because then that would allow good characters to kill each other, which would seemingly make good or neutral redundant. But yeah, I can forsee a lot of issues arising from having different friendly fire rules for the alignments. I started a friendly fire thread awhile back where this was talked about

    • RE: Voip

I wouldn't mind voip for parties or guilds but open world proximity voip seems like it would feel really strange in a game with a top down fixed perspective.

Some games have started integrating Discord voip instead of developing their own system and that could be a possibility for party and guild voip.

you can switch your alignment near a campfire. So in essence, if you are "positive karma character", you are not prevented from attacking other positive karma characters. It's just the matter of using a camp fire to make a switch and you can attack at will. That's what I meant.

Yeah, I just took issue with your use of "good" since that's a very specific meaning in Fractured. I don't consider high karma characters as necessarily good in the general sense of the word. I think a more accurate description would be "lawful."

@kniknack said in Good Guild Vs Good Guild PvP?:

not simply another mechanic to denote pvp availability like some games.

That's essentially what it is though. The fact that there are extra systems designed around it, doesn't change that.

      @evolgrinz

Every action has the potential to adversely affect someone else. With player collision, even just standing still can hurt someone. I can gather a group of people and have them stand at the entrance of a dungeon or a cave and physically block everyone from entering or exiting and this wouldn't be considered a hostile action by game's coding. If you're a good aligned guild that owns a mine, and another good aligned guild comes over and uses the mine so much that your guild can't use it anymore and they ignore your protest, what recourse do you have outside of PvP? Just give up and find a new place to mine?

Other 2 planets will, with appropriate flagging and karma consequences. As simple as that.

If you're referring to individual PvP, that's not true. The point of being good aligned is that you don't have to worry at all about hostility from other good aligned players and others don't have to worry about you. It's supposed to remove all doubt about hostile intentions. It's what makes this game more casual friendly than Albion.

If you're referring to GvG then we just don't have that information.

      @logain

If you're referring to this line :

Total pledges raised from the Fractured Store and our successful Kickstarter campaign are currently funding the unlocking of stretch goals, and will continue doing so throughout 2018!

My interpretation is that the wording is meant to convey that the stretch goals will be up for quite some time, not that it's ending in 2018. It is pretty vague though and some clarification is needed.

I think something like this is already planned. It was mentioned somewhere (I think one of the Q&A's) that establishing trade routes and NPC traders will be a part of town management.

@thegreatelleon said in Guilds and Towns- Mainly a guild question.:

So, let's say you're with a small group of friends you got yourselves a hamlet, and then you realize it's hopeless to continue because you can't seem to do anything right so you decide to transfer guilds. What would happen to your buildings?

Presumably they would stay. Housing isn't tied to guild affiliation, only town ownership is. Guild members don't have to live in their guild town/s and non guild members can live in towns belonging to guilds they're not a part of. Guild policies would be the only restrictions.

Another thing- Guild wars, are there going to be limitations or can it be like oh you have one house, send like 15 players to deal with 2 people yeah were at war now.

One clarification: a hamlet isn't technically a town, it's just the state of a town area after it's been cleared of monsters but hasn't reached a minimum number of players to be a real town. It has no governorship and no rules on who can or can't build there (outside of planet limitations). I don't think guilds will be able to declare war on a hamlet because it wouldn't make much sense and isn't necessary. If the question is "can guilds siege towns of guilds much smaller than them" then the answer is that we don't have enough information on sieges to answer that, but Fractured seems to lean heavily on freedom and not imposing arbitrary restrictions on systems outside of planet and alignment rules. I would guess the answer to that question is yes.

Interplanetary gates are how you get between planets. If you mean intraplanetary, then they're mentioned in second spotlight.

@tsoo said in Good Guild Vs Good Guild PvP?:

How does one GvG? If my guild rules state to KOS guild xyz on sight that would flag me as a murderer and affect my Karma? However should war affect one's Karma? Or does the guild leader have to "I declare war on XYZ" to avoid flags?

We don't know much about guild vs guild on Syndesia, but I'm guessing that guilds will be able to declare war on other guilds which will ignore any alignment restrictions and karma change on PvP against enemy guild members.

I can live with being Neutral and with the aggressive flag (I've been called worse) but the thief and murder flag? The chunk of Karma?

Good aligned players are restricted by the game from all hostile actions against other good and non-flagged neutral players while hostile actions against evil players won't flag you and will actually give you karma . I believe this should make good players incapable of being flagged as thieves and murderers and it will likely be impossible for them to lose karma from PvP actions.

Also how does one fight over an asteroid if good cannot attack unprovoked and only defend?

You can freely attack evil players (and I believe neutral players that are flagged) without provocation.

Keep in mind that alignment in general is pretty fluid on Syndesia and can be changed on rest with karma limiting your options. A person with high positive karma can choose to be evil, neutral, or good. Once your karma drops below a certain threshold, you can only pick evil and neutral, and once it drops low enough, you can only pick evil.

I can't remember if alignment based guilds were completely dropped or not, but they were a thing at one point, but now guilds are planet based. If a non-alignment restricted "good" human guild wanted to patrol their borders against not-at-war good aligned players, they can have members flagged as neutral and deal with the karma consequences.

      Can beastmen GvG

Not on Arboreus, but they can on Syndesia if they're part of a Syndesia guild.

Being able to send gold or items through mail would remove a lot of interesting player interaction, and conflicts with the sandbox nature of Fractured. I'm completely against it.

    • RE: Skill, and Spell Power

The devs have said that they took inspiration from Guild Wars for the character building, so I'm going to assume it works similarly and each skill will scale off of a single attribute (outside of the inherent benefits you get from attributes). So for the conjuration example, some skills will scale off charisma, and others will scale off int.

    • RE: Sprays

Things like this are really open to abuse, and would mostly hurt the atmosphere of the game. The amount of people who would use sprays responsibly are far outweighed by those who wouldn't. In theory, I wouldn't be opposed to governors deciding to allow them in their own town, but that opens up a can of worms about what DS should and shouldn't allow, how policing sprays would actually work, the punishment for offenses (should governors decide? DS?), how culpable governors would be for the things that are sprayed (say if someone sprayed swastikas everywhere, and a governor didn't take them down, how should DS respond?), etc.

I think it would be more trouble than it's worth.

    • RE: Abomination races?

Sort of? It depends how you define race. A shadow demon and hellfire demon will turn into different kinds of angels, giving them different racial attributes from both their demon form and each other. By Fractured's definition, they are essentially a new race. If you're asking if they lose all resemblance to their previous form (like in your wolf to rat example), I would guess no, but I don't think we have any concrete info on that.

This picture seems to show that they will still resemble their previous form:
