    • Citizen Application Bug

      Hello,

      I can not cancel my application as citizen; clicking the corresponding button has no UX feedback and does not do anything. Applying to another city is not possible due to this bug, which is very annoying. The bug persists since weeks.

      My character ID is 1540.

      Please fix, its really annoying. @Prometheus

    • RE: Repairing? Kind of.

      I think some kind of repairing should be introduced, but it should consume mats used in crafting the item as well as gold, and it should furthermore consume lower level mats in higher quantity (like 50 from some weed or so), so the demand for this stuff would also increase. Repairing a set should also be more expensive then crafting new - think of it like a continous ressource sink, which has lower entry level then crafting (so you dont need as many mats at the same time), but over all more mats.

      An example:
      An item costs 10Y and 20X for crafting and has 100 durability. Repairing 25% of the durability costs now not 2,5Y and 5X, but 3Y and 7X + some amount of gold + some low level mats like weeds or shrooms...
      Effect: You create an additional sink for mats, as it is more conveniant to repair, because you have an lower entry, then to craft new...

      Also, in general, I think crafting items should always need some amount of low level materials, so new player can make gold by farming flowers and such.

      To the other players in this thread, please remember this is a beta. The items to deal with cold/warmth haven't been designed yet and should come shortly after the technical implementation.

      @GamerSeuss is spot on in his rational. You need the core foundations in place before you fix the smaller issues, which is exactly what they are doing (and doing well).

      First and foremost you need player in the beta to test your game. If you are ruining the fun by not fixing game breaking bugs etc. the nice weather also does not help. We are not getting paid for testing.. we are doing this for fun, and if the fun is lost the beta dies, and if the beta dies, don't bother releasing the game anymore..

      I agree that its really strange to bring this updates now instead of fixing the bugs; also, at the moment weather is just annoying to deal with and adds no depth to the game.. I just log out when its night and my toon freezes and is slow af.. makes no sense playing in this crippled state..

    • "Cosmetic" Customization & Show-Off

      Hello,

      I strongly request features that allow a) to customize a toons appearence and b) to allow others to see what your toon sports (very important also in PVP - I want to know what my opponent is up to)!

      Solutions for a)

      1. Change item color according to materials used - thats really a no brainer; why should a blood iron plate have the same color as a silver one? For example..
      2. Give crafters/players the means to dye their stuff
      3. Introduce cosmetic wearables like hats, robes, and so on
      4. Cosmetics in general - and not only such you have to pay real cash for

      Solutions for b)

      1. See a)1)
      2. Let players doubleklick other toons to see a ragdoll version of them and what they are wearing! Also important for showing off... 🙂

      I think the whole crafting system needs more depth; so possible changes could be:

      • Increased crafting quality of an item leads not only to (slightly more) dura, but also to some increase in its stats, like randomized between -5% and +5% DPS, with a higher skilled crafter more probability to hit close to +5%..
      • Named crafting: The name of the crafter is stated on the item.. i loved this in UO
      • Spending KP on Crafting/Gathering based "Perks"/"Skills"... like faster gathering, increasing item stats..
      • CHANGE OF COLOR OF ITEMS CRAFTED ACCORDING TO THE MATERIALS USED (!!!)
      • Crafter can dye items, amount and saturation of colors by experience, skill or so...

      Limited use is fine, but 10 uses is too few, you would need to increase drop chance; when drop chance stays as current, I guess we should talk about 30+ uses...

      Answering questions with "we dont know yet" or "we are currently discussing pros and cons of.." is okay - straight skipping most important and controversial topics is not. Its offensive, unprofessional and shady-agenda driven. I would strongly expect an appology from gamigo/dev side towards the community for this disastrous event and then an asap follow-up AMA, dealing with the important stuff and not some meme questions or questions about how many hair some furry may have on its back.

      @Prometheus : Why was there no answer regarding this question or similar questions on the AMA? Especially when publically admitting that the beta may well last good into 2023? I really feel that skipping on all questions regarding the topic 'how to make the beta more engaging and make people not lose interest in playing' was by intention, and this makes me and other players feel really unconfortable. I would absolutely expect an answer to this concerning topic.

    • About that AMA on 30.04...

      Hello,

      Sorry for starting so extremely negative, but this was like the worst AMA I have ever experienced and I am both disappointed and offended by it. I don't know if gamigo is censoring questions, or the devs had no interest in it, or had no time to prepare, or whatever, but I as a player who is really involved in the game and wants it to be successful (which I guess I have proven quite some times) am sad about how little love was put into it and how important questions where omitted, how political many questions where answered and how unprepared the whole team seemed.

      Some key things that offended me the most:

      • Skipping a lot of good questions while answering stuff like wHeRe CaN i PlAcE mY pAlAcE, cAn I rOtAtE tHe CaMeRa In An IsO gAmE, cAn I pLaY oN mY kIdDo GaMePaD...

      • Skipping all controversial and interesting topics like Raids, PVP/Alignment, Player loot, etc.. everything that seemed even a little controversial or more fundamental was omitted... This is so shady and political, I can barely express my disappointment

      • There were really like next to no answers on how current game (mechanics etc) is planned to be improved, only on upcoming features with a strong focus on PvE

      • It is NOT hard to change the colour of items according to the material it is made off. And just saying: We can't and won't do that is ridiculous.

      • There was not a single word about how to improve beta population or popularity; neither regarding the questions of other players no regarding my question about closed beta carry over which was completely ignored which I find extremely offensive..

      Some other questions that the ama raised in me:

      • Why weren't questions clustered?
      • Why did the Dev team seam completely unprepared?
      • Why did the gamigo girl read questions twice? Did she not listen?
      • Why where the questions chosen as they were?
      • Why was there no agenda on what will be answered? (Would have saved me more then 1 hour of my lifetime)

      Also, hearing that "a release in 2023 is very very likely" and "we are a bit behind" together with NOT A SINGLE WORD about how to make an FULL WIPE BETA engaging for like what it seems now I guess AT LEAST 10 MORE MONTH is unbelievable amateurish, disengaging and offensive to every dedicated player that spends more then a few hours a month in this game...

      I was really looking forward to this ama, blocked it in my outlook and took 1h away from my wife on Friday evening just so I could be live, because I really was looking forward to some big boom given the massive load of player feedback and improvement this beta needs.. but, oh boy, was I wrong.

    • Dexxers suck and are not viable right now.

      Hello,

      right now there is no reason to play a dexxer character in FO at all, at least when not doing the pvp poison dagger build.

      a) the damage output is really low, even with 20+ dex and 20+ per and the dex/per based skills are underwhelming - str based toon easily outdamage me.

      b) the defense / ability to take blows is laughable low, even if having 1000 evasion, 30%+ block chance (one handed focus) and 3500 hp anything seems to still have 50%+ (many mobs more like 90%+) chance to just completely ignore my defensive mechanics, while armor always having 100% chance to "do its job".

      So, summarized, I would be better off in any way playing a str based toon with heavy armour and 2h sword... just, I dont want to, because I play dexxer ever since they became viable in UO and FO is not gonna break me in this regard..

      So please review the viability of dexxer builds and make them viable compared to str based builds by either greatly increase their dps or their survivability.. or both.. at the moment both seems to need a lot of love.

      I guess 6+ month of closed beta which needs constantly high population and playtesting is not "close to the end station" and if the game should not die out during the closed beta, some kind of incentive for playing and not just waiting until release should be given - more so, as rewards are already in place for multi level marketing...

      The foundation system is okay, but its only based on rl marketing activities, not on your active participation in the closed beta.. and this feels very wrong and shady, like some kind of multi level pyramid scheme..

      And: The world is getting more empty day by day, as there is no incentive to pump hours into the game rn... so I really urge you to create some kind of carry over from beta to release, at least cosmetic ones.

    • Bugs SVPPB - Update 22.04.22

      Will keep updating the thread from time to time

      20.04.22

      • Some mobs move through walls, city walls, etc, or up on some "mountain"
      • Some mobs dont react when attacked, especially the animal mobs like deers and so on, but others also
      • Even as I am no citizen of any city, I cant neither cancle a city application nor start a new one, button simply does not work
      • If a sell order fails, the items dissapear and are not in the storage section of the market
      • The location of the players dead body (if you chose to like respawn in the city) does not appear in any map
      • Sometimes you just randomly cant pass streets or other parts of the map
      • Some ressources dont dissapear when harvested or are harvested, but dont appear in the inventory
      • Some mobs chase you, move back to their place, and stay there still while being killed
      • Some mobs produce "you have no right to loot this corpse" even when you killed them and no other player is near
      • Discovered hotspots are shown as undiscovered on the world map
      • Applying poison to a lot of weapons does not work (like bow, but i also remeber other weapons that say poisonable not working)
      • Dont know if a bug, but the Market price calculation still shows TBA, although mathematically it would already be total possible to evaluate mean and median of prices right now
      • Some animations on the horse are bugged, dont know exactly what i did but after that my character looked like grinding the horse for some time (hopping up and down while standing)
      • Mobs still attack and kill you on your own claim
      • Some skills just wont work when used, like Second Wind not working everytime, even when no debuffs or anything
      • Increased DPS by talents (like one handed mastery) is not shown when weapons are equipped, while DPS increase due to stats is shown correctly
      • Dire Wolf Pelt is bugged (I guess everyone knows)
      • Gold in the global gold wallet is not used for market purchases or harbours, which i dont know if is is a bug, but is annoying af
      • You can kill mobs through doors while they dont attack you
      • Your own player house is no longer shown on the world map
      • Travelling by ship makes the game crash

      @spoletta I think it will require some (not a lot, but some) work and thinking around the best solution, but in my opinion this is time well spent if the beta should not die out in a matter of weeks.
