RE: Just a(some) quick question(s).
@therippyone there will be divine quests for gods to gain their favor. They will also include angel / abomination quests that @Jetah mentioned.

@gothix said in Just a(some) quick question(s).:
I'd do that with a contractor NPC (or a bulletin board) in a town.
- Player that wants to offer contract specifies over NPC (or a board) UI what he wants done (example: gather 200 sunflowers) and how much he is paying (lets say 50g).
- This is converted by game into quest that's acceptable by other players over board UI, and 50g is taken from contract giver.
- Any number of players can accept the quest, but only the first player that hands it in can collect reward (50g), at which point quest vanishes from the board offers, and from everyones quest logs (other people can keep sunflowers they collected thus far if quest vanishes and can use them for other purpose).
- Contract giver can check board from time to time to see if quest was delivered by anyone and when it was, he picks up sunflowers that waited for him at the board.
- If no one did the quest for a while, contract giver can chose to cancel quest from the board prematurely, and collect his cash (50g) back. At which point quest disappears like in example from an above.
- There could be a fee to post a contract (or not).
- There could be a limit to how many contracts a player can post (or not).
- There could be a fee to cancel a contract offer prematurely (or not).
Wouldn't that be the same with some kind of shop NPC (or AH) where you go and make an order for said 200 sunflowers for 50g. Basically everyone that sees it can go collect the flowers and first person that brings them can sell them. You deposit that 50g when making an order and then can pick it up after it's done. What's more that way you can sell in parts - in this example 0.25g per sunflower - so people can sell you some and you'll get to that 200 faster.

Maybe add a link to it in main page navigation?

RE: Mouse / Keyboard control
@gothix that would cause problems to people that want only mouse move and skills / stuff mapped to WASD. As I don't want anyone to complain about WASD controls a switch would be best. Of course arrow keys controls by default that can be mapped to WASD should work as well and could be used at the same time.

Assuming you can move and use abilities at the same time, it would be an advantage because you can aim in one direction while moving in the opposite which isn't possible with mouse only movement.
You can do the same with your mouse, the difference is your angles are not limited that way.
That is, if you can actually use your mouse properly. That's 22.5 degree. I cannot see a situation where it matters.
And moving in different direction then attacking is possible with mouse movement but require very fast mouse moves - it's hard to keep precision that way - or linear movement.@target said in Mouse / Keyboard control:
Dodging is essential in any pvp. And of course WASD movement is possible but it will play out the same, since players will stand still while casting/shooting/etc., since game is planned as point-and-click based.
Of course how "actiony" combat is, is also tied to abilities' mechanics. But in short, having WASD movement in the game where you can't shoot/hit on the go is pointless, will handicap player instead of giving him comfortable experience, and is only a matter of preference.Combat is supposed to be very "actiony"
So it won't handicap WASD player. What's more - all players would have the same control options so when it suits them then can just switch.

RE: Mouse / Keyboard control
@gothix do you think if we mention @Prometheus enough times he might be annoyed enough to come here and drop a word?

@Prometheus Have you thought about a physical item shop? Would love to see some shirts and hats!
Not yet, but we might consider that in the future
First the game, then the success, then physical item shop

RE: Mouse / Keyboard control
@lshreve for not there is only mouse movement and no wasd at all. we're fighting that bad @Prometheus to test it at least but we're losing so far

RE: Secrets in game
@gothix unlocking hidden quest by non obvious and hard to mark criteria sounds nice

RE: Secrets in game
i'd prefer a system that rewards you for visiting enough (secretly marked) places. ie there are 100 places in the whole world and if you visit 20 you get a reward, then for 50 then 80. There is no counter so you don't know if you visited that place - so it would be hard to tell others where to go
You'd just have to explore everything.
-
RE: Secrets in game
@kralith same with Secret World (ok, plus some obscure stuff i didn't know). But that's the whole point in Secret World - not just one item bonus. And there's no open world PvP so you don't need to be optimized character.
In Fractured one secret to make you stronger and it will be hard to ignore and take time to find it because everyone else that will just google and get it will have an edge over you.

RE: Limited/rare items?
@jetah in most games the rarer the item the more powerful it is. Which does make sense
Anyway legendary skins for weapons and armors sounds like they solve all the problems in FracturedYou can even create some for beastkin primal form and they don't break on death. What's more noone should complain if a skin gives you only a small bonus to stats
-
RE: Limited/rare items?
Legendary weapons as skins wouldn't be bad. It's just cosmetic so it's not OP and you cannot lose it as it's just a skin.
