Which details regarding crafting do you want to see in the spot light? After the alpha 1 I don't believe that there is so much more to see.

Alpha 1 had really restricted gathering and crafting, so I am sure it just barely touched the surface and players had access only to craft the very basic and primitive starter stuff. There was no steam technology or any kind of smithing to provide most of the weapons and armors for example. I collected good amount of possibilities in this Crafting Matrix and I am sure this kind of stuff we could easily see in Fractured. There will be more advanced crafting, even devs wants the basic items to be easily replaceable. So the crafting (and actually gathering and refining too) will be a huge topic and we do not know much of it at this point.

True there will be much more recipes and items to craft, but the process will be the same as with the basics. Collect the materials needed and than press the crafting button. Not sure if I want to know how many different recipes are possible. And since I haven't heard that there will be professions I didn't see the need for a spot light. that's why I asked. I have the feeling I missed soemthing huge.

Here is some questions which needs some answers or adjustments.. We do not actually know how much there will be different kind of professions and how deep those goes with advanced crafting (item tiers). Where all professions will be placed in school and knowledge systems? How we can unlock professions and how the progression works? What kind of tasks there will be? How does the attributes effects to crafting? Is there RNG involved? Do we get bonuses for crafting depending where we craft? Does your race matter in crafting? How different crafted items will decay and break? How repairing works? Does crafting need special tools? Is there any limit how much stuff you can craft in a day? Is there item enchanting or augmenting involved?

So I guess you are thinking this crafting too narrowly and only the crafting process itself. It is the whole crafting system where we need more information and the actual process is just one part of that. I hope you understand now better what I actually mean. πŸ™‚

@Tuoni That and the fact that the BR whatever you would rate that game but definitely neither A nor B class game that is already in beta, but the actual MMO is still not even in Alpha 1 πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„ If I ever got my money back (And unfortunately it was not just a little that I spent on their kickstarter - silly and stupid me Ehm I mean naΓ―ve me) I would just put everything into Fractured, at least the devs care and are so far honest with us and we got to the Alpha 1! πŸ‘―β€β™‚οΈ

Well that BR deserves double facepalm.. 🀦 🀦 (when one is simply not enough)

I have been more cautions after I felt betrayed by SBI when they made radical changes to Albion concept just before release. I had invest there a good amount of money. That is why I did not pledge AoC and now I am glad of my choise. They introduced BR from nowhere and first told it was just for testing the combat. Later they told how it will become a separated game project, which has now actually delayed the original MMO plan why people pledged at first place. I will test out AoC, but after when it released. Fractured is atm the one I follow most and I have planned to jump in at start of Alpha 2.

      @Meiki said in Racial languages:

@Sindariya A system - like the one in WoW - can be set in place. It would make the job of the team easier and also pretty much make it easy for the players. As you would still see what the player actually wrote as long as you have high skill in the language. It could be even set that with tiers, that without knowledge it changes every word, achieving first tier changes only every second word, second tier only every third word, fourth tier only every couple words randomly between every fifth and every eight word and mastering it would let the message be as it is and allow you to send messages in that language.

Something like this could be interesting especially if guilds will be race locked. Then the initial setting is kind of RvR. I can see how unlocking new levels of languages needs traveling to another planets.

@Artien said in Gods, Gates, and Goods:

I hope this is the right area for this idea. I was reading some other posts that got me thinking. If there are gods, and they can affect Karma/abilities, they should also be able to affect the natural world(s) and materials.

Gods kind of affects already to the world, they have set rules for different races when they travel away from homeplanet. So in Fractured gods contributes to shape the world and give citizens some benefits, so they are not just passive operators on the background. This would actually back up your suggestion, but..

@Artien said in Gods, Gates, and Goods:

Wouldn't it be cool if, say after a divine quests completes, you get to visit the home of the specific god and see them? Then you would be 'bestowed' your prize. Then, afterwards, they would ask you a question with three answers, and depending on the answer, they would also give you a 'key' that literally opened a door or portal at a specific location/time/setting that has a description you have to decipher.

I know, that in some games players travels to halls of gods and actually meet those. Gods usually looks like humans, but they are distinctly bigger.. Anyway, I am not sure if players should actually meet the gods in Fractured and I would say keeping them more like mysterious operators would give more believable impression imho. So I would leave that F2F meeting totally away..

However, that key suggestion is still useable idea. Maybe gods can grant keys to loyal champions (without facing them), which could open some hidden treasure chests or secret layer in dungeons for example. So basically the god sends you for the final quest, where at the end waits the ultimate reward.

Moreover, It is relatively easy to create religions, factions or cults around different gods. These factions could live e.g. in dungeons where everything is themed after them. I do not want the bosses to be gods themselfs, but there can be some nasty minions which represent the god, and that way we can get the feeling to battle with rival cult and god.

    • RE: Personal home question

One choise is to get few respawn options on the screen when you have died. I am not sure if total of 5 different options are needed, but here is some what can be considered to be on the list.

      • Your home
      • Guild (hall/town/territory)
      • Closest town
      • Closest cemetery (if there are any)
      • Selected friend's home

Well if we put aside that how much more work this could cause.. I think developers could think at first place how some of the weapons are wield even there would be just one option. Like how daggers are wield.. like swords or something like in this picture (which looks much more cooler btw). πŸ™‚

      3. request he joins you in picking berrys and licking rocks

πŸ˜‚ I was thinking something more complex, but maybe it can be done with just one question as well.

I saw this youtube video from MetaGoblin, where he has this Classic WoW questionnaire to help people to choose right class. Of course choose between nine classes is a little bit different than choose between three races.. Unless this questionnaire contain all sub-races and metamorphosis what Fractured has, that would be quite interesting actually.

Albion online has the best market system so far the games I have played. totally player based economy.
I am hoping Fractured MMO does it better, cause I want this game to succeed in all aspect.

I agree with you. Albion has great market system which centralizes all goods in one city still keeping it local. There is no auction system and it is not actually needed either. There is also buy/sell order possibilities so players can craft something what other players needs.

I hope devs will reconsider how the market system will be implemented in Fractured. Maybe stalls works nicely in smaller towns, but in large cities those can be nightmare. So marketplace system could be build inside town/city progression for example.

Marketplace is simply a quality of life system when compared to several stalls. This is at least a matter what devs should keep in mind even they would test stalls out first.

ESO's VIP system is sub based. This game will also have VIP based on subscription.

Well you are kind of both right.. Maybe these VIP, PLUS, PREMIUM packages can be called optional subscription. At least that is something I have seen used. πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Stretch Goals

      "What Is A Stretch Goal?
A stretch goal is an additional goal you set for your campaign in case you exceed your initial funding goal, and is generally used to finance another specific aspect of your project. Note that stretch goals are not a feature that is built into the Indiegogo product. Rather these are optional ideas for you to implement and are a way for you to incentivize your backers toward helping you achieve your new goals.

      What Are The Benefits?
When your audience sees you've reached 100% of your initial funding goal, they may not see a compelling reason to contribute more. A concrete stretch goal is a great motivator to do just that β€” especially if it rallies around a specific purpose β€” and a hugely successful campaign might even have more than one! Stretch goals are especially helpful if your project has a high budget.

What Makes A Good Stretch Goal?

      It's Reasonable
Hitting a $10,000 goal on day one is great, but it doesn’t mean that a $50,000 stretch goal is reasonable. While there’s no rule of thumb, remember that you should be able to fund the main portion of your project with your initial goal. If your aim is to raise funds beyond twice the total of your initial goal, consider a series of stretch goals that breaks that total into smaller compelling steps. Similarly, you probably don’t want to promise a stretch goal that will double the amount of work you have to do to fulfill your perks or campaign objectives.

      It's Concrete
"We want more money" isn't a compelling reason to contribute. We recommend that you find another concrete goal for your project that justifies asking your funders for further support.

      It Benefits Previous Contributors
The best stretch goals mobilize your contributors by offering them something else they want. Skullgirls built and distributed new game levels – and because that extra content benefited all contributors, it motivated everyone to share the campaign or contribute a second time because they wanted the new levels for themselves."

    • RE: Game shop opinion

@Xzoviac All depends how much that VIP membership will eventually boost the progression. I have seen few forum post where is said, that this knowledge boost from VIP will be quite small. I can not editorialize at this point how I feel about that, and I think I have too see the benefit in use before making any conclusions or judgements.

However, your concern is valid imo, because some other games have not handle these optional subcription well. Usually these optional VIP / PREMIUM / PLUS packages are just camouflaged subcriptions, because the benefits are must have.

In Fractured VIP is planned to be account wide which is a good thing. And if they manage to keep the progression advantages relatively small, then I guess most of players will be satisfied with that.

      @dj35 said in Stretch Goals:

I understand the want for more features but I still think they should focus on the basics game figure out how to do all the things they already promised before adding more workload

Stretch goals are not only about adding optional features. Idea is also to get help from backers to achieve goals that developers wants to be in the game.

"Rather these are optional ideas for you to implement and are a way for you to incentivize your backers toward helping you achieve your new goals."

So stretch goals aims for win-win situation if planned smart. That is why we should not worry about how the devs can handle the possible stretch goals. They will arrange a survey to value the need of more stretch goals, then they build a strategy and later more detailed plan if needed. They have enough data from previous stretch goals what they can use to evaluate the situation.
